    Hello

the wireless connection should not have an effect on the connection of the cable, but for sorting, disable the WIFI network.
As you say that the cable is correct, it may be the network ports on the laptop or the router. Try to connect the laptop to another network and another computer to your router. You should then see where is the problem.

  • Disconnect Ethernet cable internet on Macbook

Just installed a Netgear AC1200 Wireless Modem Router.

We have a PC, a Surface and a Macbook Pro.

WiFi works well on all of these devices.

Wired is very good with the PC, but when connected to a Mac to another room (by ethernet USB adapter), the internet connection to the Mac becomes invalid after a short while (about 10 to 20 seconds).

This cable has worked well with our old Belkin modem just Twitter.com.

Have you tried cycling the modem, cycling Mac, disable WiFi on Mac, by pressing the wireless button on the modem.

Is this a problem switching? It seems that as soon as the Mac sees the cable it disconnects from the network.

Great to have WiFi working but we bought this new modem to be able to easily turn off the WiFi and just use the cable connections when we are in our office.

I'm certainly not gifted technically, so hope there is something fairly simple to do. Would appreciate some advice on how to solve this problem.

Thanks for your help Darren. Problem is now solved. Has been a fortuitous error in a single link cable.

  • Satellite L450 - connection loose if I disconnect the cable

I just tried to configure my modem on my Satellite L450 wireless and it works well with the ethernet cable, but as soon as I disconnect I lose it.
I tried 3 cables but nothing.

    What can I please?

    Hi ElaKeen62,

I m a bit confused now... As a first step, you wrote that your WLAN car works well, but then you wrote something on the Ethernet connection and you have tested 3 cables?

    What exactly is your problem?

  • NB100 - unable to connect with the ethernet cable

My netbook works very well with the wireless connection (even if I get only 4 MB when I have 10 MB connection). I visited a House of friends the other day and she does not have a wireless router.

I plugged the cable broadand on my machine. I disabled the wireless connection and activated the network connection in network connections. I turned off then the feature wireless on the keyboard with the keys Fn & F1.

It shows that there is a link in my taskbar, but when I try to open the internet it does not connect.

I thought it was his connection because she had problems so today I went to another friends house and got exactly the same response.

I decided to try the same thing at home and I disconnected the ethernet cable from my wireless router and performed the steps listed above.

Still no joy - am I missing something?

    Tips:

Use a static IP address, and not using DHCP.
Disable your firewall. It can block the network connection.
Disable network cards won't do not. If you use wired LAN, turn off wireless and Bluetooth in the Device Manager.
Check if their ISP requires a power of Attorney, if they don't, specify the Proxy and Port in your browser settings.

  • Pavilion 17F1023CL: lost my ethernet cable connection.

Have 2 pavilions and lost the ethernet connection, with cable, on one of them, yet have the wifi capability. When you attach the ethernet cable, the port light does not illuminate.

Currently using my second Pavilion, with the cable is connected, and the light on the port is light.

The problem would be with the connection/WiFi wireless card? This card Realtek manages cables and wireless?

Prefer to do my own repairs when possible, as labor costs are far too high for my budget.

    Hey @dwflo,

    Please use the forums.

Sounds to me like the port has been disconnected somehow, as it should be a combo wireless connection/WiFi card as you requested.  You can check to make sure that the port is still connected properly, however it is likely that it will need to be replaced.

    See you soon,.

  • T460 touchpad responds liked when the Ethernet cable is plugged

    Hello

I bought a brand new ThinkPad T460 ten days ago and I noticed that when I plug in an Ethernet cable, the touchpad responds: just a few clicks and taps are missed, the movement is slow and and sometimes temporarily blocked. The touchpad comes alive again as soon as the Ethernet cable is disconnected. The trackpoint and trackpoint button above the touchpad are not affected, only the touchpad starts to misbehave.

This happens on both Windows and Linux, this isn't a problem of specific operating system. Furthermore, I checked to see if I am running the latest version of the BIOS, and I am. And there are no problems when you use the wireless adapter, but one of the reasons why I bought a ThinkPad was she has a port Ethernet, so not being able to use it would be extremely disappointing.

I checked to see if there are any IRQ conflicts for the touchpad, but could find none. The problem occurs when the computer is plugged in and when it runs on battery only. I also tried two different cables in the same router, each in a different router port, and the problem persisted.

I'm using the latest drivers for Windows 7 directly on the Lenovo site, and Arch Linux with kernel 4.4.5 - the Ethernet card is considered:

    e1000e [2.751703]: Intel® PRO/1000 3.2.6 - k network driver
    e1000e [2.751705]: Copyright (c) Intel Corporation 1999-2015.

Should I expect it is fixed with a BIOS update, or do I have to contact guarantee? It is unacceptable to live with it.

Tried in another House as promised, and the touchpad works very well with cable Ethernet is plugged. Also, before you leave the House with the problem, I discovered that the problem occurs only when the cable from my ISP switch is plugged into my router.

Respect my opinion that this machine deserves a stronger touchpad, but apparently is not due to lack of computer - under normal circumstances, there is no problem with the touchpad.

I'm stumped on how to proceed. Can I use a multimeter on the ISP switch from cable, but I'm not sure what to check (voltage? how does and between what son?). I'll also look into the suggestion of ferrite, I don't know where they are available - this thread is first heard of them.

Anyway, I wanted to just erase Lenovo name on it.

  • Win7 no recognition at all, wireless ethernet cable works fine

I recently tried to see if my wired connection would work for my PC, and when I disconnected my wireless and tried to connect via Ethernet, ethernet cable was not recognized as plugged in. I'm not too computer savvy, so I let the drivers installed, but I went to the Device Manager to check if there's a driver update, which it was not.

I tried to restart and do not connect not not wireless before attempting to connect via Ethernet.
My Ethernet device is an Intel PRO/1000 GT Desktop Ethernet card.
Any help in would be nice, because my PC is close to my router, and I would like to use a wired connection instead of wireless, with the proximity of the router.

    Hello

You have reached the support good forum. If I understand correctly, you can not access the Internet using wired connection. I've surely you will help find a solution on the issue.

    1. who is the antivirus installed on the computer program?

    2. it worked before?

I suggest to disable the antivirus program and check.

    Caution:
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 1:

Try to run the network troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem:

Check out this link to do the same thing:

    Network convenience stores

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-networking-troubleshooters

Method 2: Try to reset the Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and check if the problem persists.

The reset command is available in the context of the NetShell utility IP. Follow these steps to use the reset command to reset TCP/IP manually:

    a. to open a command prompt, click Start, click Run. Copy and paste (or type) that follows the command in the Open box, and then press ENTER: cmd

    b. at the command prompt, copy and paste (or type) that follows the command, and then press ENTER:

    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Note If you do not specify a path of the directory for the log file, use the following command: netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

    c. restart the computer.

  • Ethernet cable to connect my windows laptop 7 to the internet. connection is very bad. It works but only for 30 minutes max.

My internet does not work correctly. I use an ethernet cable to connect my laptop (using windows 7) to the internet. However the connection is very bad. Sometimes it works but only for 30 minutes max, and other times it does not at all, connect saying that the cable is disconnected. I tried 3 different cables to 2 different ports, then maybe the problem comes from my laptop. It connects to the wifi networks fine but not with the cable. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be the problem and how can I solve this problem?

    Hello

1 did you changes to the computer?

2 did you receive an error message?

    Method 1:

I suggest to check and make sure that all cables are connected correctly.

  • Canning Internet connection drops when the computer is connected to the PS3 via an Ethernet cable.

    Original title: Shared network problem

I am trying to use a shared network, configure as follows. My computer connect wireless to my router. My PS3, however, seems to be really slow when connecting wireless to the router and is at a proper speed when connected via ethernet. So, I have my PS3 connected to my computer with an ethernet cable. I put the wifi connection to be shared. Next, I set up my PS3 to connect to cable internet. Has gone through the steps and connected properly and at full speed too. However, there is a problem. My PC guard 'give up' connection to my router, while remaining connected to the PS3. I have to manually connect to my router again, regardless of the connection automatically option. Almost as if my PC is to use ethernet for internet access, (which he won't get that which is connected to the PS3) and so it loses the wifi connection. This abandonment happens around every 5 minutes or more.

Is it possible to keep my PC connected to my wireless router and still be connected to my PS3 through ethernet to connect my PS3 using my PC?

The problem seems to have 'fixed itself. I tried messing around with the connections that would not work even the bridge. Then I've switched back to ICS and did not have a disconnect since then.

So the problem is now resolved, but don't know how?
Whatever it is, I am very grateful for your help Manasa, it is well appreciated!
  • Pavilion dv7 Notebook - how will I know if I'm connected with the Ethernet cable or wireless?

The notification area icon displays only a wireless connection, although the ethernet cable is connected to the laptop.  HP Connection Manager shows that both wired and wireless connections are active.  All of my previous laptop (not HP) had different icons for wireless to a wired connection in the notification area.  HP has a different icon for a wired connection?  If so, why it doesn't show in the notification area?

    obxperson99 wrote:

Enrico, thank you.  I have installed Win7 Pro.

The Network and Sharing Center says I'm connected wireless.

Program of HP's "Connection Manager" shows that both the wired (ethernet) and wireless networks are connected.

If I am always connected wirelessly with the ethernet cable plugged into my machine, how to move from the wired connection?

Open the network and sharing Center. Look at the picture of what I have posted. Do you see where it says log in or out? Select it, and then disconnect from the wireless network. If you are also connected to the wired connecttion, then the connection should be almost transparent.

    Hello

How can I transfer a single program and its content from a laptop computer to an iMac using an Ethernet cable

You can network or target mode a mac computer

OS X Lion mountain: connect to shared computers and servers for files on a network

Share files between two computers with target - Apple Support disk mode

However, to transfer a program is not the user data (music, photos, etc.), you must follow the directions of developers and license agreements. Some programs need to be seen to withdraw their authorization, some don't, but most require a clean install to write the necessary components in the correct places, otherwise if you are 'slide' from one place to another, you can easily inherent problems of this method.

You can not unless someone makes a dongle, but even in this case an application had to talk with the dongle do not believe that a dongle could add something like kernel as a new network interface which could access normal applications
