  • Suggestions of VPN for Windows 7 and ASA 5510

We currently have a VPN solution with an ASA5510 and the client to the PC using the Cisco VPN Client V5.0.07.0410.  This works for Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7, however, Windows 7 will not allow enable start before logon or disconnect VPN connection when Logging Off (i.e. the Windows logon properties are missing in the client configuration options).  Is there a fix for this VPN client?  What VPN upgrade options available, which will allow these options?

Thank you very much for your suggestions!

You must use the AnyConnect client. I got on to start the same kind of project and purchased a license key AnyConnect, they are the easiest option.

  • Unable to browse the internet while connected to the VPN

    Hi all..

It was working fine until yesterday morning... Since then, I am not able to browse the internet it I am connected to the VPN... I get a "Page cannot be displayed" error message... the second that I disconnect VPN, I am able to browse internet... I did not change/facilities to do... help please...

    Thank you...

Check to see if you can ping by IP address (make sure that the DNS information are properly learnt). Also try setting MTU interface to 1300 in case there is a change within the network of your ISP. What is mode NAT or NAT device not compatible?

  • Unable to connect to the Update Center

I just finished my fifth unsuccessful attempt to install jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 on a laptop from scratch. I already had a 11.1.1.3 installation and work of the need to upgrade to 11.1.1.4 to align with the SOA server I have deploy across the network.

I removed 11.1.1.3 and 11.1.1.4 facilities (via windows install/uninstall program, and then manually deleting directories that they were in), and then try to reinstall several times, remove after each unsuccessful attempt).

My problem is when I try to install the extension of SOA. After the initial installation of the software in JDeveloper, I'm going to "Help"-> "check for updates... ».
Rather than see a list of locations to update I get a popup on top of the Update Center popup, which claims that it is:

Unable to connect to the internet to check updates.

If you are behind a firewall or use a proxy to access web pages, check your settings of proxy below and click OK to try again.

Normally, I use a url of proxy auto to manage my access to the proxy for that so I'm VPN would be in my company or not, Firefox handles my access network correctly. Because it is not an option in the context menu, I found a proxy host and tried to use it while I was VPN in. That has not helped - I tested the proxy of the popup and it failed. I Redid the installation 2 - 3 times while only had in VPN, then abandoned.

So I uninstalled everything, disconnected VPN and did another fresh install. There is also no in the same way (Nothing in the center of update list and I got the same error popup).

It's a mystery all that JDeveloper is really doing. It makes me crazy when the software works not seamlessly like this. I don't see what it is really doing, and the error message is useless or worse. (Why is she even suggesting that I provided a proxy when I'm straight on the internet. Why didn't he just tell me what he's trying to do, and, if I can fix it). I have a fine Internet connection that works for everything else.

I know JDeveloper is still caching configuration information (my two projects appear in the list of applications), and so I guess that's also implementing caching some old login information that it does not show me. But I find no visible which erase and start over.

Anyone know how to get JDeveloper to just try to connect directly to find update centers after that he cooked the old way to do it in a file somewhere hidden?

    Thank you

    Hello
If JDeveloper is installed successfully, then you are good to go. Come to the addition of Extensions for SOA, BPM etc, you can do this either online (directly and update the Oracle site) or offline also. Average offline, first download the corresponding ZIP extension files for your version of 11.4 JDev as a composite model soa, bpm, Publisher etc. Then click on help-> Check For Update-> ignores errors or the pop-up windows and cancel-> them on the screen main down check the box named "install local file". Here browse and select a zip file at a time and move forward.

    http://www.Oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@OTN/documents/WEBCONTENT/156082.XML#Oracle.SCA.Modeler (Oracle SOA Composite Editor-> 11.4)
    http://www.Oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/@OTN/documents/WEBCONTENT/156082.XML#Oracle.BPM.fusion.Studio (Oracle BPM Studio-> 11.4)

For SOA/BPM, simply just above 2 extensions.

  • Drives and airport Extreme Base Station to disconnect after connection to the VPN

At home when I'm on WIFI, everything works fine. At the moment where I connect to the VPN to do office work, the base station will disconnect and accessible either.

    Any help?

The problem you are experiencing is perhaps due to the type of VPN tunnel that you use to connect to your workplace. There are basically two types: 1) full or partial) 2. Note: The different VPN clients can use other words, but these are usually options when you set up a tunnel.

When you use a complete tunnel, all traffic between your computer and the VPN of your working server, through the tunnel. No traffic is allowed on your local network, and therefore, all local resources are not available. With a partial tunnel, your computer data traffic, may as well go through the tunnel and also to your local network. One reason to use a partial tunnel, for example, is that you have a local printer, you need to perform printing. You can be connected to this type of tunnel for access to the documents and then, be able to print on this printer... otherwise, with a tunnel of full, you would print to a printer at your place of work.

  • Why users need to disconnect and reconnect to the VPN to RDP?

Most of the time our VPN works perfectly, but sporadically users must reconnect to the VPN to use remote desktop. Is that the user can log on to the VPN and access to things like network drives, but not other features like RDP. If they disconnect and then reconnect to the VPN, poof, everything works fine. No matter if it is minutes or hours in the VPN connection, it still requires reconnection. It seems that it is always on the second attempt at the nick of this post point called 'the second time's a charm

We are using RRAS in SBS 2008 and the problem is multiple users tempting to VPN in XP and Win7 machines. We replaced the switches (now using Dell Powerconnects) and the router (now using Cisco RV042) and the problem persists.

  • VPN disconnects spontaneously - sometimes

I set up a VPN between two Windows XP systems on two different networks, using the built-in VPN connection from XP. In most cases, the connection remains active without problem. However, on occasion, the VPN disconnects for no apparent reason. I checked the event viewer on the systems of the host and the client. The host system has no events listed in the newspapers of the Application or the system at the time when the disconnection occurred. On the client computer, the only event is an informational message in the system log: "the connection to the made by user VPNUser using VPN3-1 device has been disconnected.", the event ID is 20159. This does not really have any useful information about what happened to cause the disconnection. Are there any troubleshooting tools that I can put in place either on the host or client which may provide additional information on what causes these parasites, apparently spontaneous disconnects? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

A guess: this could be caused by an MTU setting that is set too high.  The maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) is usually around 1 500 bytes and includes the headers of the packets.  VPN adds additional header bytes, and if you use DSL it can be even more added bytes.  The connection works well as long as packets are exchanged, but if you start a transaction requiring large packages, you can go beyond one can suffer from the limit and the speed or the connection may be removed.  A conservative MTU when using VPN is 1300.

  • Disconnections of VPN with EA8500

Strange problem. Connect remotely via VPN to the office. Whenever an explosion of data traffic on my home network to any user (for example start-up Skype or streaming, or even log) my VPN interrupts the connection (reason code 631 - port disconnected by the user). This behavior is completely reproducible. I can reconnect the VPN and continue working until another burst of network traffic causes VPN to drop again. It is easy to see the relationship by running a continuous ping (-t) on the Desktop server when connected to the VPN.

Windows 7 PC, gigabit ethernet/WiFi at home and an EA8500 network. Internet connection is fiber 200 / 20 Mbps.

I spent weeks playing with the firewall settings, change the router settings, open ports and replace the network but the problem just disappeared when I replaced the Linksys with an older router. I returned all the firewall (Norton) PC back by default settings after changing routers and VPN remains stable.

Any thoughts or is it just a faulty EA8500 router?

  • Cisco vpn client minimized in the taskbar and the rest in status: disconnect

I used 5.0.07.0240 cisco vpn client for 1 month with my pc under windows 7-64 bit. Worked well for 1 month. All of a sudden now when I double click the icon to start, VPN automatically minimizes to the taskbar with the disconnected state. It does not connect the option to hit or anything before it reduced to a minimum. I've not seen this before and no changes... but now it simply doesn't work. All solutions? Windows just patch automatically breaking cisco?
Unfortunately, cisco does not world class technical service... they called but no use.

In my view, there is now a published version of the x 64 client, you need to download.
If you suspect an update of Windows, why not try a system restore for a day, it was
    working correctly?

  • Roads remain in the routing table after disconnecting from the vpn client

I am facing this problem for my clients and the easy vpn server.

My Cisco 3825 has an easy vpn server configuration with an ip pool. When one of the customer disconnects and isakmp and ipsec his deleted by the router itself. The route pointing to the ip address of the ip pool is still in the routing table. This time, another vpn client connects and get the ip address of the ip even pool. But this new vpn client connected is located on a different interface of the router. Thus, an extreme problem happen! A route to 2 next hops is created! So bad!

Someone else can help me? How can I delete the wrong way?
