Disorders of slow internet with Asus G73JH wireless (Atheros AR9825) card/adapter

Hi, I'm the owner of a new computer laptop asus stealth bomber with windows 7 installed. I feel very slow download speed (50 KB/s - 100 kb/s). My wireless adapter is an Atheros AR9825 came with the laptop. I also tested my ping is the path up to 375. On the other hand, my laptop computer sony Vaio downloads usually at a speed of 1 Mbps. I checked and I'm on the same network it. I use a wireless connection and mistaken by my router and the modem. I have comcast with increase in power and a cisco/linksys wireless N Router and a modem. Any help is appreciated. I also tried the troubleshooter from the wireless network and unplugged then replugged but nothing seems to help. Also, I have the trial of trend Antivirus installed and also took down windows firewall.  I also have the latest drivers installed.

Hello

Watch Windows Advanced Power Management and make sure that the wireless adapter is configured for maximum performance.

Try to connect to the wireless router and change the operation of the radio channel.  Ch.1, or 11 are good choices. But you can try them all one at a time and choose the best.

If you don't use WEP security, switch to WPA or WPA2. A lot of maps N work well with WEP.

Is there something I can do to improve the speed of the internet to my laptop computer connected to the router dual-band new?

    Hello

I understand that concern you. Let me help you with the issue.

There could be various factors at the origin of the problem as a firewall router, firmware obsolete, obsolete network drivers, bandwidth, etc.

Are you experiencing the issue when bypass you the router?

Some instructions that you can follow as indicated below.

    1. Obstruct free paths between your router and receive computers. Physical obstructions more between your router and computer, the lowest, the wireless signal is likely to be. Place the router in a central location with clear lines of visibility on your computer will help boost the signal.
    2. Use a wireless Repeater. Sometimes, it is not possible to move a router and the computer to create direct sight lines, or a computer may be too far from the router to get a strong signal. A wireless Repeater takes in a wireless signal and sends it with increased resistance to increase the signal. Using a Repeater wireless between your router and your computer sends a signal around obstacles and can improve performance.
    3. Reduce signal interference. Like radios, when two wireless networks are in the same area, they can interfere with each other. If you know that another router wireless is close to you, you can move the router to another area or ask the owner of the other router to move sound.
    4. Reduce the use of the network. Sometimes slow Internet use on a wireless network is not the fault of the network, but that too many users are connected to the network. Disconnect other computers connected to the free network bandwidth, and increase the speed. It is also important to block free riders to connect to your network and slowing of setting up your router password protection. Check the user manual of your router on how to set up a password.

I suggest you to first change the string in the configuration of the router page and check if the problem persists. If many people in your building using the same channel, then you might notice a slowdown in your Internet speed. Switching to one of these channels will reduce interference and possibly increase your speed.

If the problem persists, then try to update the firmware on the router in router configuration page. Given that the laptop works very well on old router, maybe the new router requires compatible firmware to allow an intense sound signal from the router again.

  • Satellite A660-14 days - slow internet wireless

    Hello

I have the Satellite A660-14 days and if I plug a cable (UTP) the speed of the internet (Firefox, IE, FTP,...) are OK (1,1 MB/s).
But if I use the wireless (Broadcom adapter) network connection, speed is 0.5 MB/s.

All software and drivers are up to date. 'Power save mode' of the wireless adapter is set to "maximum performance".
Firewall and antivirus have been disabled. WiFi signal strength was excellent.
In addition, I have another laptop (not Toshiba) with the same software configuration (OS - Win 7, Antivirus,...) and it works fine with the same router.

I wonder if there are known issues with the Broadcom wireless adapter or its drivers.

    Kind regards
    Robert

    > But Toshiba with its (802.11n) wireless network adapter working so slow (less than half of my old notebook speed). This is not normal. Everything is up-to-date and I also reinstall the NETWORK adapter driver.

Go to-> WLan card device manager-> properties-> Advanced tab
Here you can change the standard 802.11 G only!
Disable in Win 7 the power management of the WLan energy saving options.
    This would improve performance

It seems that your settings are not correct for the access provider or router (or both).  I suggest that you contact your ISP and have them walk you step by step in the process of installation and configuration and do not let them off the coast of the Nigerian line you have a good connection, as you wish.  They know that the parameters so that we don't have, so they can help you better than we can, and I'm sure they will be happy to do.

  • dv7t Quad Ed with Intel Centrino Wireless Card drops connection Internet with Netgear

    Hi all the world-help please!

I received my dv7t Quad Ed with Intel Centrino wireless/Bluetooth card two Monday running on Windows 7 64.  I can't get my pc to maintain an internet connection more then a few minutes.  I'm solid on connecting wireless to the router (Netgear RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router WNDR3700) but I'm constantly getting "no internet access.

I have updated the firmware of the router.  I made several updates of Windows.  Nothing has helped and then fifteen minutes.

Thanks for any help you can give.

    Hello:

Go to the Intel site and run their driver update utility and see if there is a newer driver for you to install.

    http://www.Intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect?IID=dc_iduu

Once you do this, if an updated driver didn't help, or we were not available, click on your adapter wireless in Device Manager. Then click the Advanced tab.

I enclose a general link to the Intel Advanced Settings menu and what they are doing...

    http://www.Intel.com/support/wireless/WLAN/sb/CS-025393.htm

Make sure that the settings are default all except that I would like to change the following:

    Roaming aggressiveness... Lowest value.

If this does not help, go to the configuration menu of your router and change the string being aired on channel 1 or 11 and see if that helps.

  • Connection of slow internet speed of Time capsule

I have a time Capsule airport of 5th generation 2 TB (802.11 AC) and a modem TP - LINK TD - 8816 ADSL2 (bridged) connected to the TC. In recent weeks, a very slow internet connection has been detected (get the go-ahead in TC and airport utility)

Of course, I started by judging my ISP but then realizes that configuration back to the modem for PPPoE over Ethernet, the connection achieved expected quotient of internet speed.

I have reset the TC back to the default settings (to erase all of the current settings) and set it up again with the new and cool settings. Same results.

For the record: I have experienced same speed slow results at the TC test by wireless or ethernet connections.

Airport Time Capsule is running 7.7.3

MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inches, end 2013) OS X El Capitan 10.11.3

I came back to use the modem router Zyxel provided by my ISP with internet high speed optimal but misses my TC!

Thanks in advance for your support.

I'm in the same boat... There is something seriously wrong with the TC in PPPOE mode. And nothing you can do that on it. Apple has all the controls available in the outside world.

I got around it by using a modem router or other router between modem bridged and TC.

In the end I put the TC in static IP mode, and it worked very well with another router.

  • Incredibly slow Internet response time.

    Original title: taskbar

I had a problem with incredibly response times Internet. After reboot, I discovered in the taskbar, the icon of the single computer that deals with network connections, i.e. wifi had an x in it, which means it is turned off. (This isn't the icon to connect to the LAN of double work). Because my PC is using wifi and is not also connected to the cable, I was wondering what task is connected to wifi.

I also noticed that my Internet speed of response actually works at an acceptable speed now that the icon shows it is off. Which task is this icon, so that I can disable it using msconfig and task is WiFi so that one is not?

I use a Dell desktop computer, through Time Warner Cable. I had the SP3 for some time and that you have not added any new programs or updates, that I remember for a while.

The only change in my computer added wifi (after moving to a new House/State) about six months ago.
As a further complication, when I logged on today, connecting to the wifi network shown in the taskbar opened and ran into a mode of connection 'very good '. So yesterday and the previous week, I had access to the Internet with it NOT connected. My taskbar displays a computer screen green with waves in the upper left corner and says "Netgear WNA3100 is connected to...". "my camera wifi router in the basement next to the TW modem.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that there are two connections wifi different trying to run... one that was working yesterday and one today showing tasks in my bar.
I blame that for my calculation of the slow speeds.

Looks like you have three icons of network connection...

    1. area (cable) connection icon - two screens - probably with a red X

    2. the icon of Windows wireless - a blue screen with 'waves '.

3 - Netgear wireless connection icon describe you it as 'green with waves screen '.

It also seems that maybe you think that 2 and 3 are separate connections. This is not the case, they will just separate indicators of the same wireless connection.

Reading between the lines a bit, my guess is that you used to have only 1 and 2, but now you have the 3rd too. If I'm right, probably, what happened is that you have started the application of Netgear wireless configuration, which experience tells me tends to 'support' of Windows wireless configuration without even asking if you want that to happen. All you need to do to get rid of this icon of the green screen is open the Netgear configuration (via its system tray icon) and find a check box saying "let Windows to manage my wireless network connection" (or words to that effect, in addition, it is that the word 'zero' in the text). If you have no network connection after doing this, then you were always in a Netgear configuration and you will have two choices...

    1. Start the Netgear form the menu start and reverse the changes that you just made
    2. Configure Windows to control the wireless connection

If you want to Setup Netgear instead of Windows use, I think that you will have to put up with the two icons.

  • Very slow E3200 with Comcast:

    Hello

First of all, there was a similar thread here two years, but no solution has been provided so I'm starting a new.

I am one of those fellows who have a surfboard 6141 + E3200 and a connection from comcast of 50Mbps, installed yesterday. Strangely, I'm really low speed after updating to this setting. I'm 12Mbps using wireless connections. I already checked the internet and many people have the same problem as me but nobody posted a solution, only recognized that the problem exists.

    Facts:
    1. when it is connected directly to the modem, I get 100 Mbps (strangely, my connection was supposed to be 50Mbps, no concerns here);

    2. when connected wireless, I have only 12-14Mbps.

    3. If I plugged in LAN using the E3200 I ALSO get 12-14Mbps.

    4. When you run the speedtest through my laptop, I have around 20Mpbs.

    5. my notebook have an AR9285, running windows 8.1.

    6. until someone proposes changing the E3200 position is not the issue. Previously I've used the modem/router integrated Comcast on the same place and could get speeds up to 25Mpbs. Also, before anyone suggests, the reason why I bought another modem is because I wanted to control the port-forwarding/NAT since I use torrents. Yet, I use the computer 2 meters from the router without any objects/walls between them.

    7. my E3200 has been updated yesterday from 1.0.03 to 1.0.04)is firmware.

    8. I have not tried exahustively all settings possible, but if I select only 5 GHz, I can't see with my adapter. However, the standard "n" should not run also at 2.4 Ghz?

Well, that's all. Can someone help me with this problem?

    Best regards

    In the middle of the

    Hello

I sent the email to the address that you have suggested, but not yet back.

However, I discovered that part of the problem is WMM when you use the "N" Protocol When I disabled it "N" and off WMM, doubled in speed. Below the results expected, but still.

    Source:

    http://community.Linksys.com/T5/wireless-routers/QoS-and-WMM-settings-slow-Internet-down-when-enable...

In another forum, I discovered on a custom firmware, a custom implementation of the Tomato Firmware made by Henri, who, after flashing, solved my problem (exit 120). Now, I'm around 65Mbps using 2.4 Ghz with "N" and the Group of 40 Hz (which could not be used in the stock firmware).

    Tomato by Shibby source:

    http://tomato.Groov.pl/

I'll still wait for the answer but from now, I think it's a bug between WMM linksys implementation and communication protocol used by Comcast. Like all other routers running normally using WMM, maybe it's a bug unnadressed E3200 and E4200.

The only mystery is why speed is reduced even if wired.

Tomato in any case, seemed to address most of my problems (I still can't 96Mbps).
