Display Administrator 5.2 horizon

I'm trying to set up another Horizon view 5.2 Administrator.  In this case, I use an Active Directory group instead of a specific AD account.

The new Director, I work with is able to make changes to the view, but as soon as he tries to spin out a new Pool of Clone-related, it gets an error: 'error commissioning occurred on pool < name-pool-here > because frree available on the disc is reserved for related clones.'

When I do the exact same function with the same exact settings, the pool is created.

Question: Other than the configuration of accounts (evident) in the GUI to view (it is configured as an administrator at the level of the root), the permissions that are necessary in both AD and vCenter to allow this new person administer the view entirely?  (If you come back with RTFM, I'll find you and track down you... I did this for 2 days now and not find anything in the books, except for the settings for the service accounts required for view to talk to vCenter, connection and security servers (which are all very well, thankyouverymuch):-P)

Exasperated

Quick question...

Which option you selected when adding the new administrator in the user interface?

-Select one or more files and click Next.

-Select the root folder, and then click Next.

The new user should all other permissions outside the display administrator UI as view interacts with vCenter using the vCenter administrator and composer interacts with vCenter with the user of the composer. These are the users who require permissions.

See you soon,.

  • Cannot add composer in the Horizon 6 display Administrator console

    Hello

I built a test environment, composed of three ESXi hosts 5.5U2.  One of those is I run the following

    VCenter - W2KR2 under SQL2008R2 Express SP3

    View - W2KR2

    W2KR2 composer running SQL2012 Express

By using the web client I can connect to VCenter and manage environmental happily.  I am trying to install composer in this environment VSphere however I can't connect to the server of composer in the administration view existing console.  I tried to use a server standalone composer and composer also installed on VCenter.  Point of view seems to work fine as I can connect to virtual desktops using PCoIP.  Now, I would like to test the functionality of clone bound using the composer.

I use the self-signed certificates for this test, so that can see the warning when I try to add the composer box.  I can accept the cert, but get an error every time - the text is not always the same:

"Error trying to connect to View Composer".

or "a connection problem occurred between the connection to the server, View Composer vCenter Server.  Verify that all services are running and the ports and URLs is correctly typed"

I confirmed that port 18446 is listening on both servers (Windows Firewall is disabled).  The VMware View Composer service is running on both servers and running under a local account.   I have checked the SQL and newspapers of composer on the composer dedicated server and vCenter, but can not see specific errors when you try to connect.  I checked the DSN and the database according to the installation guide and you can check the connection.

What I see are the errors of SChannel VCenter and composer that correspond with connection attempts:

SCHANNEL error #36887 the following fatal alert has been received: 46

I presume that these are related to the acceptance of the untrusted SSL certificate and therefore are the expected behavior.

I have attached below newspapers and some screenshots of errors.

  • Horizon view Agent 6.0.2 Windows 8.1 desktop - size setting display scale causes mouse which will be pasted in the top left corner

    Hello

I am having some problems when I try to adjust the size to the scale option in the Virtual Office Windows 8.1 with view agent 6.0.2. When I try to change the scale via Control Panel -> display -> option to change the size of all the items ( view failover control settings is disabled by VMware KB: Settings tab is not available in the display panel of a Horizon view desktop locally when t...). After that, the mouse pointer gets suddenly blocked until the upper-left corner, and I'm unable to move the mouse pointer on this corner that the mouse pointer continues new jump in him. When I change the scale to the original (use the keyboard to change the setting), the behavior of mouse pointer returns to normal.

    Anyone else having this problem?

Found the solution by adding a registry entry:

    Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Teradici\PCoIP\pcoip_admin_defaults

    Name: pcoip.disable_cursor_jumping

    Type: REG_DWORD

    Data: 1

After that it is defined on the parent image and recomposed (or reboot if you want to set this on a persistent desktop computer), there is no more mouse pointer jumps after changing the scale of the fonts/AC.

This was indeed listed in KB here — not exactly the problem listed in the KB, but it is quite similar:

  • Satellite X 200-219: Question about updating the display driver?

Sad tales I've heard talk about manufacturers of laptop never updated to gfx card drivers apply to toshiba?

Any info on the question of whether an update for their SLi systems drivers display is on the horizon?

    see you soon-

The fact is that display driver cannot be updated daily as for desktop computers. Priority by the manufacturers of cell phones is worrying about the operation of the equipment. Using new graphics card drivers will be forced to run faster and better that offers better graphics performance. The result is essentially an overheating and may end with a faulty graphics card.

In this case, the card mother together must be exchanged and it costs a lot of money. So, I think that no one can say with certainty when the next pilot will be available.

  • How do you manage your view Horizon 5.3 licensees?

I just got the phone is turned off with the help of VMware discussing licenses.  I was curious to know how I can monitor the use of license after adding a license to display administrator.  I was told there is NO way for scabies, pull reports, or to check the use of the licenses in our environment from view.  Is this true?  Someone please tell me otherwise!  In vCenter Home > Administration > Licensing, you have everything you need to manage licenses in there then why is there no mechanism to do the same thing for the view?  To add insult to injury, the Tech was advised that if we on provision beyond our number of licenses who discovers will warn that jobs cannot be used until the licenses are added.  I don't know about you but I work in a very bureaucratic organization and would take time at least a week to buy additional licenses.  Thanks in advance for your comments!

Support is correct on the first point, no way to track the licenses in the broker from the view and you can enter a license key that will unlock the feature.

On the second, which is not my experience, never saw any restrictions imposed by the license key when it comes to number of users.

Of course, there is always a risk that VMware is a license check to make sure you are compatible.

  • Access view horizon 5.3 HTML won't load - white screen

I recently updated a view from 5.2 to 5.3 demo environment.  Now that the upgrade is complete, access HTML no longer works.  I have install access HTML on the login server component after the 5.3, as directed by VMware docs update.  I built the new Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 VMs and installed the agent, and then the pack remote experiment, according to the same docs.  If I connect to the server to display login and select Horizon View HTML Access, it prompts you to connect and then show me the pools that I set up.  When I click on a pool, the screen slides laterally to the Bureau and then sits on gray background and never loads.  Eventually the connection times out on the desktop of the target.  I tested with Windows 7 and 8.1 pools the base with the same results.  The two pool work very well in the native mode client.  I tried connecting from the security server and the login server internal with the same questions.  If someone has encountered this or could provide some troubleshooting resources, it would be great.  Here is a brief description of the environment:

Connection to the server: Windows 2008R2 - view 5.3 with HTML access feature

Security Server: Windows 2008R2 - view 5.3 (no firewall between the login server and security server - demo)

    Composer - Windows 2008R2 with SQL Server 2008R2 - composer 5.3 Server

    Pools:

Pool 1 - persistent related Clone Windows 8.1

    Pool 2 - model persistent Windows 7

    vCenter: vCenter Unit 5.5

    The ESX servers: ESXi 5.5

Well I thought about it.  I said to PCoIP external IP address to the internal IP address of the Security Server and no public IP address.  After fixing remote sessions that seem good.  That teaches me to update an environment at night when I'm already tired.  Thanks for the help Linjo!

  • Limit the rights Adminitrator view

Hello, we limit the rights in administrator mode.  We run the version 6.0 of the Horizon with VMware 5.5 hosts.

The reason is that we have two departments that must manage different hens. If we want to have A Department only be able to manage lets say 1 and 2 chicken and B Department only eats chicken 3 and 4.

Basically I don't want someone in the Department has power accidentally make changes to pool 3 and 4.  Technically, I don't mind if they can view, but I don't want to make any changes to the other pools except those there Department.

    Is this possible?

I have only 5 hosts, so I can't configure separate hosts for each departments.  I can set up separate connection servers if that helps somehow.

    Any ideas would be appreciated

    Mike

You can configure roles and access groups through the Configuration of the display, Administration tab.   That should allow you restrict permissions to specific pools.

  • Admin, comp. deleted the first two accounts?

I recently got a new computer and was using the default Administrator account that came with it. I then created another administrator account and an account a few days ago. However, when I tried to log in today, only the newly created administrator and the limited account appeared in the login screen. The default Administrator account no longer appears. I can still access files I had on the old account admin through again, I created, but cannot access certain folders (access denied message). Is it possible that I can do this admin account appear on the login screen and sign on it?

I am using windows XP pro.

I recently got a new computer and was using the default Administrator account that came with it.

It's a bad idea.  You must save the built-in account named Administrator to help you recover when (not if) your administrator account on the computer to the day to day is corrupt.

To answer your question, Windows XP encourages the behavior described in the previous paragraph by removing the built-in Administrator account on the Welcome screen as soon as you create a computer administrator account.

You should be able to access all files from your new computer administrator account, even those of the administrator.  However, if necessary, you can access administrator or start in Safe Mode or to the home screen with no other account when you are connected, press CTRL + ALT + DELETE twice to access the "classic" logon window  Enter administrator as the user and whatever password you assigned.  If you did not create a password for the administrator, the default value is empty (that is, no password).

If despite the warning, you want to continue using the administrator, you can download TweakUI and use it to display administrator on the homescreen, links to TweakUI, directions and another method to achieve this, see http://windowsxp.mvps.org/admins.htm

  • Vista will not start on my laptop, tried many different things and nothing seems to work

Hello.  Before we begin, I want to say that I spent the previous two days, researching my problem and have not yet find something that describes my specific problem...

I have a laptop Compaq Presario C700, I received my mother-in-law a few years ago.  It is installed with Vista (SP2 I believe, I can't confirm as you'll see below) and I got Vista point random other problems experienced, but I've usually been able to find an adequate solution - up to and including restoring to a previous restore point.

Two days ago my laptop decided not to start Windows.  When I turn on the laptop, I get the usual Compaq splash showing the different options that are accessible through the F keys.  The screen then goes, after displaying the message "ready for the OS to boot".  It then goes to a white screen that displays a flashing cursor (like a prompt command, just without the drive/directory indicator).  The hard drive light flashes every 30 seconds, or so, but it is y no movement in the HARD drive that I can not hear it or feel run as I usually can.

At this point, my first step was to use the option of recovering your system of the Compaq splash screen, but leading to the same blinking cursor and a white screen.  Then I went into the BIOS and confirmed the boot order was OK and ran the Self Test on the HARD drive and memory, which gave rise to no problems found.

It was my first choice because, as you have probably guessed, the laptop came preloaded with Vista and my mother-in-law had no startup disk.  As a result, I found a boot/recovery iso disk for Vista SP2/SP3 and burned it on a CD.  When I boot from it, I get the initial page, offering to install Vista with a link to the System Recovery Options.

The first option, I ran has the Startup Repair.  It only detected no problems with the commissioning.

Then, I used the system restore option, trying to restore to each of the 7 restore points, of which none has solved the problem.

Finally, I opened the command prompt and tried a chkdsk c: command found no problems with the HARD drive.  I didn't run the command chkdsk c:/f/r as read-only mode has not found no problem to be fixed.  I was reading a few forums different tech and found a post suggesting to try the sfc/scannow command...  I tried, you enter at the prompt like:

X:\Sources>SFC/SCANNOW (X:\ is my DVD drive) (Oh and I am the administrator, I believe.)  The title bar of the command prompt window displays "Administrator: X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe")

He returned "start system analysis. This process will take time. "Then, about 5-10 seconds and I get"Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation ".  So I tried to change my directory to C:\ and run the same command and got the same results.  Then I tried to go to D:\ which is a small partition of my HARD drive and it ran there, with the same results.  So, I tried the following commands:

    Damaged X:\Sources>SFC/SCANNOW = c: \ /offwindir = c:\windows

    Damaged X:\Sources>SFC/SCANNOW = d:-/offwindir = d:\windows

These are not returned the "start scanning system. This process will take some time. "message, but they returned the same message from Windows Resource Protection.

Finally, I removed the battery, disconnect the AC adapter, pressed the power button in the hope to evacuate any overage charges into the motherboard, waited 5 minutes, plugged the adapter back, turned on and still have the same problem.  Other forums started suggesting withdrawal and re - insert RAM chips, disconnect and reconnect the drive of HDD or DVD and other hardware items that I really hope I don't have to deal with - I'm kind of klutsy when it comes to playing with the material and I really don't want to take the risk of breaking something.

Anyone, anywhere, has all the possible suggestions?  I don't have an Installation of Vista disc, nor do I have the original product key code, so I can't reinstall Vista.  I have not the slightest semblance of Vista to load, even the F8 key to appear the option of safe mode because the laptop is never to the loading screen, so I can't try to download/install updates to windows.  What I do then, short by using the "Restore the whole PC" option in the system recovery?  If I use this option, it will scan all my files and folders or it works as the restoration system, where he erases only the updates and software installed since Vista was initially loaded on the PC?

    Hello

I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:

    Method 1:

Start the computer in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 2:

Try to perform the verification and startup repair if it helps:

    It will be useful.

  • What is vlp.bat?

What is going on? All 30-minute class hours, the windows command shell opens. The title bar displays "Administrator: vlp.bat. The cursor blinks just so nothing happens, but I'm not a computer expert. The vlp.bat file found in Windows/Basic 5 other batch files.

This could be the cause. A few days ago, I downloaded a CMS that I wanted to test on localhost Brothersoft.com. The installed Strongvault Downloader automatically. No opt-out method was provided by the Downloader Brothersoft.com. This seems to be when he began to arrive.

I had deleted Strongvault and this was still happening.

Strongvault has left dozens of topics at the root of the registry. I deleted those and what is still happening.

I deleted the basic/Windows folder and files of 6 orders in, vlp.bat was one of them, and now it does not more, problem solved.

  • View 4.5 and the smart card configuration

    Hi all

I encountered a problem which I hope one of you can help me with.

I install a new server connection view, v4.5 on Windows Server 2008 and everything works fine. I can browse to display administrator connect to a virtual computer by using view Client and also with a thin client. So all is well.

The problem comes when I try to configure smart card authentication. I created a locked.properties like the documentation file, placed in the install_directory\VMware\VMware View\Server\sslgateway\conf\locked.properties has the status of docs, restart the service and now nothing. Cannot browse to the administrator of the display, unable to connect with View Client or thin client. I tried to start and stop ALL services on the machine vMware, restarted the machine and still nothing.

I deleted the locked.properties file, rebooted the machine, nothing. If I uninstall and reinstall see connection to the server, everything is fine, but as soon as I add in locked.properties, all works again.

The content of my locked.properties is:

    trustKeyfile = mystore.key

    trustStoretype = JKS

    useCertAuth = true

The key file, mystore.key, was obtained using the keytool utility and copied in install_directory\VMware\VMware View\Server\sslgateway\conf, as the docs state.

I'm just ideas on how to solve this problem.

Sounds like something in your trust store causes a problem when you start the Secure Gateway service.

When you started your broker with the locked.properties in place, the service "VMware View security component of gateway" stops shortly after startup? There may be an exception in the newspapers of debugging describing such a problem, near a line similar to:
