  As far as I know the device must be supplied with recovery CD or DVD player and Qosmio recovery media. If you n t have these media, so you should contact Toshiba service in the country where you bought the laptop.

  I bought the qosmio G30-117. It plays HD DVD discs? If this isn't the case, I can play HD DVDs doing the firmware update?

  As far I know a few models of G30 will be able to play HD only on some models. I found the info that some units with HDMI port and HD DVD player will have this opportunity.

  I've had this laptop for about a year and for a large part of which I had no idea what was HDMI. Then my old TV died and I had to get a new one. In order to have my Qosmio I assumed (stupidly) - after all, it is a (relatively) new piece of equipment and has the HDDVD. I bought the new TV, got the cables and low and this is where should be the connection HDMI was nothing.

  There is another connection that I thought was HDMI but isn't. I am able to connect to the TV using my d-connection cable SCART. But of course how a true HD signal. I can't seem to find out and a call to the support of Tosh line me anywhere we know?

  Y at - he had a special adapter/cable which can connect in this regard ' HDMI? If this is not the case, how can I can a HDMI Signal on my TV from the phone.

  The Qosmio G30-117 model was not delivered with the HD-DVD drive, but only with the player double layer DVD Super-Multi drive (+ R) and so this laptop does not support HDMI port but only digital device on the port (d-connector).
  The other G30 with HD-DVD has been bundled with HDMI port.

  A component-D to HDMI adapter is unknown to me. But why you want to connect the HDMI laptop if the laptop does not support HD-DVD player?

• Graphic problem and reset on Qosmio G30

  My Qosmio G30 collapsed.

  It started with the screen do stripes of color everywhere, and it came and went over time.
  Sometimes the screeen had completely black, while the computer is still working proparly.
  I know then that in videomeeting I could still continue with the participants when the screen went black.
  The noise was still there.

  After that the graphics stoped to work anywhere and I thought I had some kind of virus. When testing for reset the computer with the reset product CD I can't finish rebooting. The computer formatted the hard drive, but no new operating system has been installed, so I'm in big trouble :(

  The GPU (what is it?  :() seems to have a link of the week in the G30 judging by other discussions in this forum.

  Anyone has an idea on how I could solve this problem?

  GPU means that the graphic processing unit-> it's just graphic chip card

  According to you the message chip the graphics card may be defective.
  If you are not able to restore the laptop using the Toshiba Recovery then CD I would recommend contact the ASP in your country for assistance.

  In the worst case (GPU is a shame), the motherboard should be replaced.

• Qosmio G30 (PQG31) - problem with cloned hard drives

  * Qosmio G30-154 * (* PQG31 *).

  Demo of the Qosmio has 2 hard drives with XP MCE (32 bit) installed on the primary.
  The RAID parameters are JBOD.
  BIOS is "newer" 3.90

  I would try to upgrade the drives (without installing any OS) and... have a problem!
  BSOD "Stop 0x0000007B" after 'clone with resizing' for the main HARD disk.

  F6 (for all usb drivers) is not available to boot OS, sorry.

  "cloned" drive is in line with the correct name of made in the BIOS. "Cloned" secondary drive works (with old primary school). How to get access to the new primary OS and loading cloned? Please, any ideas?

  I think that the system cannot boot to the new HARD disk as the partition where the system is installed, was not marked as bootable system partition.

  I recommend to insert the previous HARD drive and to start the laptop.
  HARD drive new, cloned could be connected as an external HARD drive to a USB port.

  Then you should go to disk management (right click my computer - manage-> management-> disk management computer)
  Here you can see the HARD internal disk and the 2nd HARD drive connected to the USB port
  Right-click on the partition (2nd HARD drive) where the Win XP has been installed and choose the partition as the system partition and mark it as active.

  Then you could change the HARD drive again and could power the device in place. Usually, the system should boot to the top of the new marked system partition.

  This remote will work, if you use it without any special drivers and special software, only in the Media Center.

  But if you install stuff like [WinLirc | winlirc.sourceforge .net] then you should be able to get some functions for your presentation.

  Please try this tool and check if it works.

  By the way: if I were you I would first read the manual and the WinLirc FAQ before you start because it s a little bit tricky to manage the program. :) (Too many parameters: D)

  I think that you can not install Vista because you have wrong RAID settings in the BIOS.

  When I create a DVD on WDVD2 all the menus and the toggles are working on a PC but not on any DVD player. They only work on a PC when I use the mouse and click. On a DVD Player do not have arrow keys and / enter the game.

  It is not easy to say why this is happening. I recommend you to use another application to create DVD and check if the problem persists.

  I created a few DVDs with Qosmio G20 and same application without any problem.

• Qosmio G30-126 - problem with the start screen

  My laptop was working perfectly until I suddenly found starting with sound activation boot but without any image appearing on the screen until I got the windows login page in which the image appeared with its normal perfect resolution.

  Do you mean the external TFT monitor or internal display books?

  Usually, the brightness of the display can be assigned and changed by using the FN + F6 or FN + F7 key combination.
  But I think that this is possible on the internal screen for laptop.

  But why you want to use it on an external monitor?
  Battery power saving is of the major reasons why the brightness of the display can be changed.
  If the laptop works on battery it s advisable to change the brightness of the display at a lower level to save the battery.

  With regard to the color change:
  Please check if the graphics card the advanced properties provides an option to change color.

  I m not surprised of your message. Vista needs specific drivers, and possibly the new driver audio update could solve some problems.
  Right now I have not found all the Vista drivers for this unit on the Toshiba Europe site
  It seems that we have to wait a bit for the release of the pilot, but we will have it I'm sure ;)

  This certainly isn't problem Toshiba Assist. Problem is that you have not installed all other toshiba tools and utilities.
  Toshiba tool is small tool where you can find shortcuts to all other tools so when you install the missing tool, they will be shown here.
  Check it please what lack us and install it.
