Display Auto-Dim?

I generally try to help out here, but I need help or comments on this one

I have my Xoom screen timeout to 2 minutes and always on when it is connected because I love him now and bright on my desk at work when it is docked. the problem is that the screen remains lit when it is anchored, but will auto-dim so that it is not entirely clear. If I'm in the music player, playing a slide show on the home screen is not serious, it becomes less bright and I have to type to return a full intensity. seems to happen about 3 minutes after leaving alone.

anyone else notice this or is - it just me, and I missed something?

Fofana,

I found a solution, but it will cost you $1 in the Android Market. I bought the app called 'Sun Lock' tonight, installed, and set the lock on 'on '. It worked inactive in the dock now for more than 30 minutes and no gradation. There are many parameters for this thin app (and widget), where you can set several conditions to release or to apply the Sun lock. Given the absence of parameters automatic in the interface of the Xoom, this should more to meet my needs.

    Hello

I recently bought this laptop and I'm having trouble with the dimming of the display function. The problem is when I consult a bright image for example a blank page on the portable Chrome seems to be at full intensity, but looking at something more dark, for example, the interface of Spotify which is often grey screen seems to auto dim.

I looked in the obvious places such as the control panel of the Intel graphic card but all power options are disabled and the 'Maximum Performance' profile is selected. The option "Display Power Saving Technology" looks like what could be causing my pain but it is unchecked.

I also looked in the energy savings of Windows however the brightness have been complete for AC power and battery and adaptive brightness has been disabled in the advanced settings window.

I searched this forum and found a few threads that seem to describe the same question:

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3519/p/19436089/20175380.aspx

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3519/p/19507983/20369810.aspx

But I tried all the steps and still have this problem, they also make reference to the settings Dell Panel by right clicking on the battery. I do not have this Panel because the first thing I did was to perform a clean installation of Windows 8 Pro, so I have no installed Dell software.

I really want to solve this problem, as the rest of the laptop works very well and I'm happy with it, but this problem of brightness is driving me crazy!

    Thank you

    Declan

It was never fixed and the laptop had to be replaced, I am pleased to announce that the replacement shows no problem.

    Thank you

  • Dual Cinema Display get dim

After installing 10.11.5 one of my two Cinema Display 30 '' continues to go dim.   I can force them to get more light but it always just continues to go to the side Sun its own.

As it has a mind of its own!

It's already happened, but I have no ideal how to solve this problem.

    Help!

    Hi Rubalcava Boan,

Thank you for using communities to Apple Support and for details on your screen. I understand that one of your displays will dim on its own and you want to avoid that from happening.

The first thing you want to do is check your set display using section below.

Connect multiple monitors to your Mac - Mac Help

If everything is configured correctly, the next step that I recommend is to try changing the cables or test with different cables to ensure that there aren't any problems with your cable. If you have any other Mac that you can test on who can also help determine if there is a hardware problem.

If you're still having problems after performing these steps, the next thing that you can try resets your MSC. Reset it will not erase your personal data, it resets just a few hardware settings the steps for this are easy.

Reset the SMC on Mac desktops

Follow these steps for iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro and Xserve.

    1. Stop the Mac.
    2. Unplug the power cord.
    3. Wait 15 seconds.
    4. Reconnect the power cord.
    5. Wait 5 seconds, then press the power button to turn on the Mac.

Alternatively, you can take a glance at this article for a list full of what the covers of SMC reset.

    I hope this helps.

    See you soon!

  • Auto Dim

The auto dim function is THE most irritating thing I've ever met and I can't turn it off! It's dark even darker screen that is completely backwards and I can't believe its even a feature. My site has a black background, so when it changes its gradation constantly making it is hard to read and it also happens in sections impossible to play games. All posts on turn off in the power options are unnecessary because the option is not in the lists. Can anyone help? Running Windows 7 Pro, card Nvidia GFX, but cannot see any option in those affecting either.

Adjust the brightness of your screen, the screen will be darker when the brightness is low.

Click the icon on the system tray battery-> adjust the screen brightness-> move the slider to the right to increase the brightness-> close the power options.

  • T410s - screen Auto-Dims the display content-based?

This is a really weird thing... never seen a behavior in a LCD screen like this before.

I noticed that the screen very slowly descends the brightness of the backlight, and almost don't notice you at first, when the low contrast images are displayed on most of the screen.

I first noticed while browsing, but the best way to reproduce the problem is to open two copies of painting, maximize their and make the size of the image fills the screen.  Let one of them is all white and fill another with all gray.  Adjust the brightness of your screen up.  Now alt - tab between the two copies of painting every 10 seconds.

What I see is that when I leave the gray image on the screen for a few seconds, you can see the brightness of the backlight begin to decline in about 10 discrete steps, more than 3 seconds.  When you switch to the image in white you end up with a dark looking screen, and then you can see as the brightness of the backlight itself upward during the few seconds of couple.

You will notice the effect more with less ambient light, or by the dos commands and gauge the total luminous power of the monitor in a room dark.

To be clear, I'm not saying that an image is smaller than the other.  I mean if leave you it on the gray screen for a few seconds and then switch back to the white screen, * after * switch you back, on the next 5 seconds, you will see the total display increasing brightness.

Sorry for the long explanation, but... I see it?  Or is it some lost 'improving contrast newness' of the LCD?  I'd really like to hear your experience.

    Thank you

    -Jeremy

    I found the solution here:

  • iOS 10, screen will not auto dim.

    Hello

Since I updated to 10, my lock screen and home on my iPhone TO will not be automatically dim or turn off.

I've updated my lock screen auto to a 30 second time out, but if I press the home button or receive a notification; the screen stays on indefinitely.

    Hi there, CyrenaH!

Thank you for joining the communities Support from Apple! Looks like you have a problem with the iPhone not dimming properly. I know how it is important to be sure that the iPhone does not stay on at all times! The good news is that there are a few steps, you can try to get this support! First of all, read this article with the steps to restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

The next thing you might want to try going in settings of the iPhone and then Reset. Once there, tap reset all settings. This will reset the settings of the iPhone, but does not erase personal information such as pictures, music or contacts. However, it will remove a connection Wi - Fi and VPN settings, so do not forget, you have these settings and passwords ready for iPhone upward starting.

If this does not work, it would be a good idea to make sure that there is not a problem of software as the cause of this for you.

    1. Read this article to know the steps for backing up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
    2. Use this article for steps to use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings.
    3. Once this done, set the phone like new and the phone to see if the issue is still being tested. Follow this link to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup

    Have a great day!

  • Tecra A9 - LCD display very Dim

    Hi all!

My Tecra A9 age of 4 years has recently developed a problem with the screen. While using it, I heard a zap and the cut screen. He has not worked since. I was able to plug it into an external to continue monitor to use it even if.

But I found that the screen is not actually dead, its just very dim. If I look closely and shine a torch above, I can see what is on the screen. Which leads to believe me its something to do with the backlight of the LCD screen.

Also, I checked, and this isn't a problem with the sensor thinks the lid is closed.

In any case, I would like to know if anyone has an idea on what the problem is specifically? If so, is the kind of problem that I can fix myself or do I need someone from Toshiba to do for me?

    Thank you!

    Hi Matt89,

I agree with Akuma. If an external monitor works, it looks like that the FL inverter is faulty. This inverter controls the backlight of the internal display and even it would be defective you can see the picture but very very dark.

If think the best would contact an authorized service provider. Guys can order a FL original inverter which is compatible and replaces it for you because the screen itself must be dismantled, and that's not easy.

If your laptop isn't under warranty gift more worry because FL inverter is not so expensive. :)

  • Display is dimmed after 4.4.2 Android update - yoga - 10

Hello community! After the update 4.4.2 the screen seems to be grayed out permanently above the command down field. I think it's a software bug, because sometimes after a browser search, he returned to the screen normal and expected. But, oddly, when I adjust the Volume with the buttons, the screen gets dim again. I tried to change the settings of brightness and energy, but they seem to behave normally.

I hope that you have an idea. Here is a picture:

  • Auto dim/light on P2314H

This monitor a Energy Smart option, that works weird in my opinion. It amplifies the light when the screen is white and darkens the screen when the screen is dark.

Does this monitor have the auto brightness function? Where it auto-régler the brightness to the condition of the bathroom. In the morning I have to re - adjust the brightness to 75, while in the evening at 25. It may be a small task, but it is very annoying to do it every day.

    Valmighty

What I need is for the monitor automatically set the brightness to 75 in the morning and in the evening 25 :)

It's pretty simple. Windows Task Scheduler allows you to create a basic task to run the display manager Dell at 7:00 with the argument ' / SetBrightnessLevel 75 ' and another to perform RFM at 19:00 with the argument ' / SetBrightnessLevel 25 "."
