• Tecra A9 - LCD display very Dim

  Hi all!

  My Tecra A9 age of 4 years has recently developed a problem with the screen. While using it, I heard a zap and the cut screen. He has not worked since. I was able to plug it into an external to continue monitor to use it even if.

  But I found that the screen is not actually dead, its just very dim. If I look closely and shine a torch above, I can see what is on the screen. Which leads to believe me its something to do with the backlight of the LCD screen.

  I agree with Akuma. If an external monitor works, it looks like that the FL inverter is faulty. This inverter controls the backlight of the internal display and even it would be defective you can see the picture but very very dark.

  If think the best would contact an authorized service provider. Guys can order a FL original inverter which is compatible and replaces it for you because the screen itself must be dismantled, and that's not easy.

  If your laptop isn't under warranty gift more worry because FL inverter is not so expensive. :)

I think that the backlit went wrong. The laptop is old more of 2 years, I so now it's out of warranty period.

  Certainly sounds like your backlight.

  Maybe you should try FN + F5
  This key combination switches the screen external monitor output.

  But to be honest, this looks like a display problem.
  I recommend you contact the ASP in your country who would check the display

  I have my Xoom screen timeout to 2 minutes and always on when it is connected because I love him now and bright on my desk at work when it is docked. the problem is that the screen remains lit when it is anchored, but will auto-dim so that it is not entirely clear.   It is intermittent and only happening in the light of the Sun, because this is when you wear your Polarized Sunglasses.  Remove, or get no Polarized Sunglasses.

  hoping someone can help me. I use my laptop the other day when the screen flashed and since there was (I'll try my best to describe it) but 3 vertical strips of flashing green lines to the bottom of the screen. When you look closely it are actually characters. When I restart the computer there are horizontal lines of different colorful characters across the screen before even that windows loads up. I tried searching for viruses, restore the computer to a point before that - makes no difference and I tried to update the display driver.

  Any ideas appreciated, don't know what to try next :(

  (f) select "Let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
  (g) keep the "Show compatible hardware" checkbox on
  (h) under the list of drivers, you will see 'Generic PnP monitor'

  The ability to rotate the screen image is a feature of your video card, to help work with instructors who rotate the portrait orientation. Almost certainly you accidentally pressed Ctrl-Alt and an arrow.

  Rotate using these keys.
