Hello
This problem occurs in the mode Windows safe?
Use own graphics cards drivers in windows safe mode and if this doesn t matter are present in safe mode so I guess it could be a graphics driver. But if this problem persists in safe mode then it s a hardware malfunction.
In this case, the only way to solve it is to contact the Toshiba service partner in your country.

Hello
Well, battery working time depends on the use of the laptop. The use of the high-performance notebook reduces the battery working time.
In addition, you should check the watch tool Toshiba. There are different modes of battery that you can use. The right mode increases battery working time.Good bye

Display problem on Satellite Pro 6100
My laptop has no display on the LCD screen, but if I connect on external monitor it works fine, which seems to be the problem.
Hello
There are not many options. The display is probably defective or maybe the contacts are responsible for this. Sorry, but it must be checked by a technician.

Display problem on Satellite Pro M40
When I turn on my laptop, the screen stays dark.
I have hooked up to an external monitor and you can get a signal that allows me to connect. Once logged into windows xp the laptop screen rises suddenly in life.Tried using the Fn + F5 on market, but it does not work.
Do check the BIOS and settings in power windows and can see nothing obvious.
Put the laptop to dual screen laptop and CRT, but when I reboot, all I get is a signal through the external display (until I log in to windows), then the screen of the laptop begin to operate.
No changes to the settings or installed any new software for this development.
Tried to restore Windows to a checkpoint system well before it started, but not joy.Any ideas?
Hello
Have you changed the display of the external monitor to a default monitor?
In this case the display of laptops will not work until the OS is responsible.
Well, please check in the properties of the graphics card if the internal display of laptops is set as a default view!If that doesn't help I would recommend checking if it of possible to start Notepad in safe mode and if the books display can be activated.
If all the settings of this change, then the installation of the new system would be desirable.Good luck

olburHi Olbur
I didn't find any official document on this subject, as you say, known issue. Can you please send a link?
I have the Satellite L20 and there is not much difference for Satellite Pro L20 and I have no such problems, but I'm interesting about this. The L20 keyboard is not the best one, but all the characters are not displayed correctly. Maybe you type fast. ;)

Satellite Pro L20 PSL25E - Display driver required
Hello
I'm looking for a new display driver for my Toshiba Satellite Pro L20, model No. PSL25E. I can't find this driver on toshiba.com.
Right now I use Version 6.14.10.4332 of Mobile Intel (r) 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset Family.
The problem occurs when you use opensource-progs like GIMP.
After a few minutes, the display switches gray while the laptop is still working?
Does anyone have the same problem or an idea how I can fix this problem? Thank you.
Micha
Hello
You have an Intel graphics card?
Well, try to use and to install the graphics driver on the Intel site.
If you will not be able to install it by running setup.exe, then try to reinstall the driver through the Device Manager.
Here, you can select the graphic card and choose Update driver
Use the advanced procedure, and then point to files of driver that you downloaded from the Intel page.Generally, the installation should functions that it worked on my system too.
Good bye

Restart the problem after booting on Satellite Pro L20 - approx. 4 seconds
I have a toshiba satellite pro l20 series and it worked fine until yesterday.
the problem is that it restarts... Well actually, he stops in about 4 seconds after the start, remains closed for 1 or 2 seconds and then again
same problem occurs with or without the battery.
all I see is the Toshiba logo. I can enter the bios and when in the bios it does not stop.
When I get out of the bios, saving the changes he stops. and then begins by itsself after 2 seconds.
Please help me... How can I fix?Hello
If the laptop goes through the Toshiba logo then maybe there is just something wrong with the software.
In this case, the first step should be again install the Toshiba Recovery CD.
Put the CD in the drive and try to boot from the CD.
After installation, all should work properly.
If it's not, so I guess there is a serious problem and service guys should check the laptop. -
Driver LAN for Satellite Pro L20 Windows 2000

I found one for WiFi, but not for the Ethernet (cable/CAT).Hello
Well, you can t find all the LAN for Win2000 drivers on the Toshiba page because this unit has been delivered and tested with the Windows Xp operating system.
However, I found the information that the appliance has a CL LAN Realtek 8100.
In this case, I guess for visit the site Web of Realtek. You can find a compatible driver for this network adapter.http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloads1-3.aspx?keyword=8100

Blocking number on Satellite Pro L20 problem
We have about 60 Satellite Pro L20s on a network. When the user starts the computer sometimes they start with the number lock on. Its seems to be worse on some than others. It is very annoying because it causes problems with logon.
Is it possible to disable the locking function of the number on these laptops?
Thank you
Mark
Hello
I'm a bit confused. I thought that MS L20 has no Num Lock key.
Is it may be on a green light below the F11 key? -
Need of repair for CD-rom update on Satellite Pro L20
Hello
Is there anywhere I can download a repair manual for Satellite Pro L20 that I just bought a dvdrw drive & want to adapt it myselfTIA
Hello
Unfortunately, you won't find manuals repair on the Toshiba site. Only Toshiba service partners have such documents and the ability to use laptop manuals.
As far as I know, the reader is fixed with a screw that is placed at the bottom of the unit and under the keyboard.
After the withdrawal of these two screws, you can disconnect an optical drive to the connector on the system board. But without any experience, you must remove all readers. I think you should ask the service of Toshiba for help because he has more experience in such cases

Necessary recovery for my Satellite Pro L20 CD
Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L20 with Windows XP.
I made a CD of recovery for him and there is no partition separately to install the system from it.So now, even though I own a license number, I can reinstall my system. I called the company that has exclusive rights to Toshiba in my country, and they say that they n t have this recovery CD anymore (my knees is around 3 years - so it s not that old right?) and that s their last word on this situation.
Is someone can you please tell me where can I get this recovery CD? I can buy it anywhere?
Thank you
MihaiHello Mihai
As far as I know Satellite Pro L20 comes with recovery CD and there is no option for the creation on the new laptop models. This option doesn't exist.
You wrote, it is the oldest model of laptop and I can imagine this company doesn t have for this model of laptop recovery media.Toshiba recovery media can be ordered under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx but I'm not sure that you will be able to order it for this older model laptop, but you can check it out.
If you will not be able to order the original Toshiba recovery media, you can install WXP using the facilities of Microsoft CD. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba supports the page. One more thing: number on the bottom is for the recovery image and cannot be used with each installation of Windows XP Home edition CD.
If you need assistance with installing WXp let us know.

Re: Is my Win XP too old for Satellite Pro L20
Hi guys
This is the first time on a forum, so please be nice.
I'm trying to re - install the OS on my toshiba Satellite Pro L20 and chipset specifications requires:Windows * XP 5.10.2600 (original version)
I have Windows XP home 2002 which seems to be 5.1.2600.
I've never done this before and I'm trying to rebuild the laptop for my father in law to use.
My version of windows is too old for this? I have an error message asking me to check the system requirements in the readme file
Thank you
No, it is certainly not too old ;)
Maybe your XP disk contains SP2 or other patches, but it's not really bad.
You can update everything after installing Windows. After installing windows, you could install the Toshiba drivers that you might find on the European driver Toshiba page.
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-> support download &-> download driversPlease note; You should also research * Archives * area the driver page if you won't find anything in field of laptops
