• Upgrade ver 31 button 'display remote content' is replaced by 'preferences' how to undo this change?

  After a recent upgrade to version 31 the show contents button distance was replaced by a Preferences button. Instead of a simple click, I must now click the Preferences button, and then select display remote content. Two clicks vs. sucks one click. I want my back button and I don't always want to display the content. Why this change? I guess that there was a reason, but I don't like and I would like to change back if possible. Is it?

  He changed a number of reasons. most obvious is that the address book is a bad place for a white list.

  If you have restarted with disabled modules? Help menu > restart with disabled modules.

  Open the address book on the device. Press the menu button and go to the settings. Turn off sync wireless in settings and then try to restore again.

  My phone has been recently cleaned & I got it all back to normal except that I don't have any of the entries in my address book (phone #s, e-mail addresses, etc.).

  I looked around the BB Desktop Manager app, but it looks like a choice all or nothing.

  You do not have a recent backup of the device on before deletion?

  Open Desktop Manager > connect your BlackBerry via USB > Backup/Restore > advanced.

  In the right hand window will be your data on the current device.

  In the left hand window will be your most recent backup data found by Desktop Manager.

  Review this left window, scroll to data of address book and see if it seems OK for the number of entries, etc.

  If not, on top of the left pane, choose file > open and navigate to the correct file and load it.

  Now click on this address book data file to select it.

  Click on the Middle RIGHT facing arrow to move the data to the device.

  Follow the remaining instructions to finish.

  Looks like the address book on the 9720 is in wireless sync with service, might be a BES, Gmail, etc..

  Accounts have been added to the device that support this?  You can try to remove these and then you try to restore.

  As another test, you can try the following:

  1. make a backup of the 9720 - to save the State that you are now

  2 wipe the unit

  3. try to restore it from backup or BlackBerry Protect file

  4. If able successfully to restore your address book and then go to add back accounts

  NOTE: If you are on a BES, you may need to contact the administrator or Help Desk to have a defined activation password.
