Displayed as Brown (shown) black

I think that the following image speaks enough for itself. The color mode of the document's CMYK and it is set to display all blacks accurately. However, 100 k seems distinctly brownish.
What Miss me?

It seems that there is something strange going on, as you can see from this recent thread:

  • Display turns gray or black (not of) sometimes and not can not be recovered

    Here is some additional information

I use a laptop with an LCD display
I am using windows vista and my graphics card is the Mobile Intel 945 Chipset family
I have updated all drivers for graphics cards, monitor and audio, video and game controllers.
I've updated directx and used the directx diagnostic tool and no problem not found.
All microsoft updates have been installed.

Until the problem occurs my screen tends to flicker.

The problem occurs most often after that I was using the computer for awhile and it never seems to be any trouble when I first turn on my computer it is only after some time that twinkling begins and ends by then turns grey or black.

Its usually when I use a lot of video memory when it occurs. For example, when I have several videos to youtube open in multiple tabs

This will certainly happen if I am posting a video in Win Med Plyr and I full-screen.

When the display turns gray or black, I can still hear sounds and things like the keyboard, mouse controls and volume are still functional.

From what I've seen, I feel not as if it was a problem with the screen itself.

    Hi Rjperket,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

are a. When you facing this problem?
    b. when exactly do you get the black screen?

    Method

    Step 1

You can try to start in safe mode with network and see if it's the same thing.

Remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.
Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.

    Do one of the following:
If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.
If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.
In the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select the safe mode with networking option and press ENTER.
Log your computer with a user account with administrator rights.
If there is no issue here, then try the next step.
When your computer is in safe mode, you will see marked Safe Mode in the corners of the screen. To leave safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

    Step 2

Reduce hardware acceleration and see if it makes a difference.

Open display properties. To do this, in Windows Vista, click StartCollapse this includes this image, type display in the search box, and then click Properties to display in the list programs. Reduce this includes this imageIf you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or click on continue.
Click the settings tab and then click Advanced.

  • MacBook pro retina display (mid-2012) goes black

All by using the computer to randomly screen goes completely black.  After a few attempts at tapping trackpad or a bite or two, screen turns on but then log on to the computer. Program I was running is still there and continues on. It is very random and I fear that a logic board or the video card component may be out.  MacBook Pro retina display mid-2012, 16 GB 1600 mHz DDR3 RAM, graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 1024Mo of 650M;  2.6 i7 running OS 10.11.2

    Hi James,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple! I'm sorry to hear that you are having these problems with your MacBook Pro. I'm a bit ambiguous on the screen exactly who you see when you log in, but according to your description it looks that your computer may be involuntarily go to sleep. If this is the case, you can find the troubleshooting steps in the following article useful:

If your Mac does not sleep or wake up when expected - Apple supports

As mentioned in this article, another possibility on laptops like the MacBook Pro is that the screen closed sensor may be triggered unintentionally. There is a small magnetic sensor in portable computers and sometimes, being close to things like briefcases magnetic closure or magnetic jewelry can cause him to think that the display was closed, which then puts the machine in a locked sleep state. If possible, you can test the issue on an office open without any potential source of interference.

  • XPS 15 9550 with 4K display levels of good black out

I bought a new XPS 15 with the infinity display 4 k, and for some reason, the computer laptop screen suffers from black and white crush extreme. I tried to calibrate the screen, and it seems that the lowest and the highest video are be cut. As a result, the dark areas of an image to merge with absolute black creating terrible color banding and pixilation in shadows of images.

I tried to make adjustments in color first dell windows (tried to uninstall it as well), internal display settings, control panel of the integrated graphics card intel, and none of them made the difference. Even with the brightness, contrast or show black max level in video settings more weak are indistinguishable from absolute black. Even the opposite ends with white.

The issue is identical to the output of the wrong video level to a screen (for example to display the range complete pc to a regular TV with limited series), but I see no way to resolve internal laptop display settings.

For the record, output levels from black to a TV via HDMI are thin, so it's clearly a problem with the signal to the computer screen or laptop display itself and not a problem of overall system.

To be clear, this is an extreme amount of clipping. I understand that most of the screens cannot output a video full range of 0-255 without some bands. However, on my laptop, it's so bad that anything containing the shadows looks terrible. Photos even without compression of space have terrible pixelation that makes it looks like these images 4 bits from the beginning of the 1990s.

My problem is solved now. The culprit was the drivers Intel HD Graphics 530 (version 20.19.15.4390, released 18/02/2016). I use an old version (20.19.15.4331, published on 18/11/2015).

The clipping, banding has been completely remedied. The system is occasionally and will prompt to install the new drivers. I'll have to hold on to the next. I don't know if there's a degradation of performance elsewhere.

  • Extend the display does not - second black monitor

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite C655 and I connected a 2nd monitor in order to have two screens to work on.  The screen resolution is set to the optimum level for each monitor, I chose the option "Extend these screens" and each monitor is set to a different refresh rate.  However, the second monitor stays black.  If I click on "Identify", a number 1 appears on the screen of the computer, but nothing appears on the external monitor.  Even the mouse cursor does not appear when low-pressure on this screen. I checked for updated drivers, but Windows says I already installed the best drivers.

If I go to "Duplicate the poster", the external monitor displays the desktop and the laptop screen is black.   I don't understand.  It was working fine yesterday, but today when I turned on, I'll have these problems.  I even tried plugging an external monitor that is completely different with the same results. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Display PDF forms with black background

I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I use Acrobat Pro 9.5.5. Now my downloaded pdf forms that can be completed online or after the backup are evidence of a black background and all the data I find is barely visible.  Usually, the background is white and the data are blue. In addition, the fonts are blurry. I tried to repair the installation of Acrobat and it did not help. Any suggestions?

Acrobat 9 is not compatible with Windows 10, so problems are to be expected.

For best results, you must use Acrobat XI or DC.

  • Monitors/Source program that displays a single vertical black bar on image

I use first Pro CC, with all the latest updates etc.  I just started a new project, and I have a rather strange problem with the window the program monitor.  Essentially, when you view the final image, the last item in the order given, about 1/8 of the image on the right side in the program monitor window is obscured by a vertical black stripe.

If for example, I put three clips in a sequence all on the same video track, but do not join them together (I purposely leave a space).  If I find the last frame of the first two clips, there is no problem, it is never the last frame of the sequence.

If I find a clip in the Source monitor, the same black bar appears on the last frame of the clip seen in the same way as the program window.

I'm baffled by this one.  I can't think any setting I have accidentally enabled which could even hint to this behavior.

Final result is not compromised, by the way, watch just a clips as I work.

    The ideas people?

    Steve

This is a new feature introduced in the last update.

When the playback head past the last image of media on the Timeline, and after that, there is no cutting

a black box appears along the right edge of the last frame of a clip or sequence.

The end of support indicator is always on and appears for multimedia clips in the program monitor,

The source monitor and the video area of the project Panel.

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. You receive an error message?

    Method 1

See the articles below and check if it helps.

Computer stops responding with a black screen when you start Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/318027

    Method 2

I suggest that you start the computer in the last good known Configuration mode and safe mode, post back with the result.

    Method 3

If the computer can boot in any mode, then I suggest that you perform the clean boot procedure and check if it helps.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.
