Distribution of Oracle R in Oracle Linux 7?

Hi all

IM currently seen my development environment Oracle Linux 7 with the Oracle 12 c database. I know that Pb is not supported for OL7 yeat, but is the Distribution of R available for OL7 Oracle? I looked through the depot of OL7 packages with 'yum list' and R.x86_64 is not listed there.

Distribution of R Oracle version 3.1.1 RPMs are available in public yum of Oracle Oracle Linux 7 addons repository. In addition to the filing of addons, you need to activate the last and optional standards and:

# cd /etc/yum.repos.d

# wget http://public-yum.oracle.com/public-yum-ol7.repo

  • R12 Quick Installation on Suse Linux or Oracle Linux fails

    Hello

I tried several combinations of operating systems to try and install correctly using the Oracle R12 / quick installation but I could not. My last attempt was on Suse Linux 10. When the installation wizard is complete, database checks are successful but HTTP server is unresponsive and all subsequent checks fail.

The reading of google and the various threads on this forum, I found that for Oracle Linux, we must apply the patch that contains libdb.so.2. Since then, I do not have an account to support oracle, I cannot get this fix and based on rules, no body can send it in an email, which means that we can not install this distribution on Oracle Linux without having to pay for the supported. Since then, it is a learning exercise without the use of serious production of R12 apps, we do not have any arrangement with Oracle support.

For Suse, I also have the same problem, but when I try to start the opmn manually using opmnctl beginning, she responds with message, began. But when I use opmn stopall, the computer stops responding. Now, I don't know yet how to start debugging this problem.

I would give just to try to install it or there at - it a hope?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I finally managed to install R12 on Suse Linux Enterprise 10 SP3. I decided to start again after a repair for the past two days. Here's the process:

    a. install Suse Enterprise 10 SP3 with office and all development packages offered in the facility.

    b. click the computer--> install the software--> search for the 'db1 '. It will give you two or more packages. Install db1_185xx (from Berkley). This provides a required libdb.so.2.

    c. then go through the installation as outlined in the instructions using rapidwiz.

It fills correctly and I can see the login screen now.

Now, I need to know how to put in place to automatically start all services after startup.

    Thank you for your help.

    Kind regards

  • Oracle 11g R2 on Oracle Linux 7 loading problems

It drives me crazy!  I use VMPlayer (6.0.4 build-2249910) to load the Oracle 7 and have no problems at all.  However, when I install Oracle 11 g R2, that's when I encounter problems (just loading software; not to create a database at the moment).  First of all, let me tell you, I'm not some process that I found on the internet several times.  There are slight differences in some of them, but essentially, I used the website below to install Oracle 11 g 2 on Oracle Linux 7:

    ORACLE-BASE - Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2) Installation on Linux Oracle 7 (OL7)

When running through the installation, I first encountered the ctx error:

    ctx.png

I could find anything on this subject, so I continued in this way.  To learn more about this later...

The next error I get is:

    emagent.png

This second error was easy to be supported by the following:

During the connection phase, you will encounter an error invoking the file 'ins_emagent.mk '. To resolve this problem, change the "$ORACLE_HOME/sysman/lib/ins_emagent.mk", do a search and replace the line below.

    FROM:

    $(MK_EMAGENT_NMECTL)

    TO  :

    $(MK_EMAGENT_NMECTL) -lnnz11

    Click 'Retry '.

Now took care of the issue emagent.

On the issue of CTX, I can't find anything on this at all!  I looked in the log file and found the following detail:

    INFO: mv /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/bin/ctxlc /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/bin/ctxlcO f

    The exception severity: 1

It seems to be hung on the reference to "memcpy@GLIBC_2.14".  I found a few web references on this, but I don't think that they apply given that sites speak other Linux distributions.

What bothers me the most about it is that I use everything which is Oracle (except VMPlayer), but I get errors that I don't think that should be the case because there is nothing else than the Oracle!

Is there something I can add to the command 'gcc' or the make file that will get this work?

BTW: I think that I will not use CTX with my DB, then will I get in trouble if I create a database with this error CTX?

    Thanks in advance!

    It drives me crazy!

That's because GR 11, 2 is not certified or supported on Linux 7 (no matter what claim of third-party sites or blog-see the subheading of the blog). Only 12cR2 is http://docs.oracle.com/database/121/LADBN/toc.htm#LADBN101

So, you can either 12cR2 (1) installation on Linux 7 by following the steps of the official installation guide or (2) downgrade your operating system Linux 5 or 6 of Linux to install 11 GR 2 (Linux 6 requires 11.2.0.3 or higher - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/relnotes.112/e23558/toc.htm#CHDFHIEA)

  • Oracle Linux (Red Hat) on 14 t Envy Touchsmart

I am looking for a compact machine to install Oracle Linux (based on RHEL)

    for purposes of development.

The 14 t Envy Touchsmart ticked all my boxes (with the exception of the touchscreen) and I'm

a point where I am seriously considering this machine. I checked the recommended

material on Red Hat ( https://hardware.redhat.com ) that lists several HP machines,

who did not understand the desire, but I was wondering if there is a significant difference

prohibiting the RHEL running on the machine of envy from the officially

    support of the HP machines.

I understand that RHEL is through a thorough process and some materials may

do not be taken in charge yet, but I'm ready to compile and install all the required drivers and

swap the minor components of the material if necessary.

Essentially, what are the problems that I'm likely to expect in terms of compatibility of equipment?

    A.

    Well, never mind.

I'll just take the EliteBook 840.

  • PS6100 with firmware version 7.0.5 + Oracle Linux 5.10 + multipathd question

I try to use the multipath regular linux (device-map-multipath) with my PS6100 and it doesn't quite work. It gives me "readsector0 Auditor reports path is down," "pdu (op 0 x 50000370 itt 0x1) rejected.» Code 0 x 4 reason"errors and my iSCSI connections are reset every few seconds. My OS is Oracle Linux 5.10 (fully updated) and my PS6100 is running with the latest firmware version 7.0.5.

The latest kit from Dell STRUCK for Linux, 1.3.0-2, works fine on this machine, but the reason why I'm putting multipathd is to compare the performance between the two solution. If we look at the other system we have that run the ordinary multipathd, paths of Dell could give us performance. We doubt it, but we want to do the tests and a comparison of its performance stats.

We have another server which has almost the same configuration (same OS connected to an another PS6100) and multipathd works well on this one. And one of the difference between this system and no work is that the PS6100 is running on firmware 5.2.5 instead of 7.0.5. I'd be willing to downgrade firmware (this unit is not yet in production, and I don't mind losing the data on it) but I'm not find anything on the internet that show how other that of the "call from Dell and it'll do it for you. If the only thing you need to do is a special command in the CLI then why there is no documentation on this subject?

So I wonder if anyone here runs a firmware equallogic 7.0.5 with the multipathd of linux and a RedHat 5 of operating system (Oracle Linux, Redhat, CentOS, etc.)?

    Hello

It is documented in the release notes for the firmware 7.0.x.  There is a bug in Multipathd, which is exposed with 7.0.x. firmware.   Replace readsector0 TUR or ARM and restart multipathd.  Protocol errors will stop and Linux MPIO works perfectly.

  • The Oracle Linux 5.10 ADR 11.1.1.6.0 installation problem

    People,

Hello. I have implemented PeopleSoft Campus Solution 9.0 revision 5 for a University.

I need to create the web page application online for future student to apply for admission.

My installations of PeopleSoft are below:

Server machine: Oracle Linux 5.10 (64-bit)

Client computer: Windows XP Professional (64 edition) with the Internet Explorer browser

Architecture Internet Oracle Linux 5.10 Server:

    (1) database server: Oracle Database 11 g

    (2) the server application: Tuxedo 11 g

    3) web server: logic of Web 10.3.6.0

    (4) browser: Firefox Mozila

    (5) two Instances of huge database on the database server: 8.53 PeopleTools and PeopleSoft Campus Solution 9.0 R5

I just finished installing Oracle ADR (Application Development Runtime) 11.1.1.6.0 with Weblogic 10.3.6.0 in Oracle Linux 5.10 Server machine. In step 3 of 8 required checks, impossible to pass the 2 items below:

    (1) verification of recommended operating system Packages (no pass)

    (2) verification of the parameters of the kernel (no pass)

Oracle Linux 5 is certified with ADR and prerequisite verification certificate of operating system is spent, so, I keep the installation to the end successfully.

    My question is:

2 items not moved will not affect the development of applications or performance later? If so, how to fix?

    Thanks in advance.

    (1) the parameters are necessary, but the system is running with a lower number. Right in the middle of the execution of your application, enter you the maximum and your system stops. It is best to set the values for the given numbers. When you run the Setup program and go to the test page and the test fails, you should be able to click the test below and the installation should continue. If the continue button is not active, you must correct the error.

    (2) I don't have an oel5 system. Missed, you have not all if necessary values in your limits.conf file? The syntax for the Scriptures is essential. Look at the other lives in the files. How do they look like?

I guess you need to add a space after the * who would set the setting for all users, or set you it only for user oracle, which is the one you normally install the software with. Check out the tutorial I posted the link with my last post. You may need to add the line /etc/pam.d/login and etc/pam.d/sshd.

  • Install the ADF 12.1.3.0 essential WegLogic 11 g and Oracle Linux 5

    People,

Hello. I install ADF essential 12.1.3.0 with WegLogic 11 g with Oracle Linux 5 operating system.

The WebLogic 11 g and JDK 1.7 have been installed in my machine and work properly for a long time.

    I downloaded Oracle ADF critical 12.1.3.0 on http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/ADF/downloads/index.html .

The tutorial http://orafapp.blogspot.com/2014/07/install-and-configure-ADF-development.html installs ADF with WebLogic 12 c and 3 parts as below:

Part i: install ADF and set the field of the logic of the Web.

Part II: creating the RCU for ADF.

Part III: Configure the WebLogic domain.

    There are 3 files in the package: adf - essentials.zip, adf-essentials-customer - ear.zip and adf-essentials-client - war.zip

I unzip the file "adf - essentials.zip" and run the file .jar as below:

    java $-jar oracle.xdb_12.1.0.jar

Error message: cannot load oracle.xdb_12.1.0.jar Main-class manifest attributes

    My questions are:

First of all, I have to follow the 3 parties above to install ADF 12.1.3 essential for WebLogic 11 g with Oracle Linux 5?

Second, how to solve the error message above? People allow a tutorial for me to install?

    Thirdly, what are the client 2 client-essentials-adf - ear.zip and adf-essentials-customer files - war.zip do?

    Thanks in advance.

First you read for example http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/doc.1111/e14860/products.htm#FMWLC109

to find out what license you need, then you buy a license. Discover what you need is the hardest part

As I said, you must call an OrOracl sales representative or an Oracle partner who can help you.

  • How to install the web 32-bit server on Oracle Linux 7 (64 bit) for Siebel SWE?

    Hello community,

I'm being a sandbox Siebel installation in a Virtualbox machine using Oracle Linux 7, Oracle DB 12 c and Siebel 15.5.

I did very well for all installation process since it became a large number of Frank from previous versions.

However, I still have a remaining item left which I have not been able to solve: Web server

Originally, I installed 64 bit version of HTTP Server Oracle 11g of Web tier that filled well.

However, after you apply the profile SWE logic, web server would fail start given that 32 libraries cannot be interpreted in 64-bit.

Therefore, I tried to download 32 bit Web layer HTTP server only to find out that I could not even install using the linux32 command.

Finally, I tried to build my own Apache server that required me to also build apr and apr-util libs.

    It was beautiful.

    [siebel@sbl-lab bin] $. / apachectl v

    Server version: Apache/2.4.17 (Unix)

    Built-in Server: 11 November 2015 00:41:35

    D DEFAULT_ERRORLOG = "logs/error_log".

    D AP_TYPES_CONFIG_FILE = "conf/mime.types"

    D - SERVER_CONFIG_FILE = conf/httpd.conf"

However, once I started the web server after you apply the SWE, I received the following message:

    [siebel@sbl-lab bin] $. / startapa

httpd: syntax on line 503 of /opt/siebel/apache/conf/httpd.conf error: structure of the API module 'swe_module' in the file /opt/siebel/apache/modules/libmod_swe.so is garbled - signature expected 41503234 but 41503232 - perhaps it is not an Apache DSO module, or has been compiled for a different version of Apache?

I've been contemplating installing a chroot, a container or even another virtual machine exclusively for the web server.

Before proceeding with additional measures that I might regret, could you please how you would proceed in this case?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

Nevermind, I checked certifications and Apache 2.2 should be used instead of Apache 2.4

    Everything is ok now.

    Hello

I have installation problems of database 12 c on Oracle Linux 7.1, this is what I did and what is the result:

    Steps done in order:

    1. Configure a machine virtual box OL7.1 (has enough swap space, is fully updated and invited additions running)
    2. Install the package "oracle-RDBMS-server-12cR1-preinstall" to make sure that I have all the packages required pre

Followed the additional configuration steps in this tutorial oracle-www.m-base.org/Sounds.html (permissive-selinux, exports .bash_profile, create the installation path, create users and groups required)-> https://oracle-base.com/articles/12c/oracle-db-12cr1-installation-on-oracle-linux-7#additional_setup
    4. Obtained by runInstaller installation and chose to install database software ONLY.
    5. Run the root.sh as root script, after that the installation was successful
    6. DBCA: Create database, mode, advanced, general use create as CBD (an APB called pdb1), EM express (Yes), rather than default storage settings, install the schema example, character set AL32UTF8, by default all the rest.
    7. Edit the/etc/oratab file by changing the N a y at the end of the last line that is now "data1:/u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0.2/db_1:Y".
    8. sqlplus sys/oracle as a sysdba

I'm stuck at 8, it's the following message is displayed:

Before I change anything, I would like to help, can someone go get where I left and gives me a step to ensure that this facility is set up correctly?

    I missed something?

    Comments are welcome!

Your 7 step refers to an instance called data1, but you set your ORSCLE_SID to the cdb1. THERY can't be correct.

  • Oracle linux 7 with Oracle 12 c, it is necessary GUI?

I will install Oracle Linux 7 and I would get a minimal installation, then I'll install the latest version of the Oracle server that is version 12 c.

Can I avoid to install GUI? I am interesting to the environment of the text.

Which type of installation that I can choose? I would choose "minimum installation"

    -Minimal Install

    -Multi server

    -File and print server

    -Web server based

    -Virtualization host

    -Server with a graphical interface

Where can I find the requirements for the operating system for this version of Oracle?

Is there before installation for Linux Oracle packages list to the 12 c features Oracle database?

Why you post the same question in different forums? You have already received a response.

    https://community.Oracle.com/thread/3797527

    https://community.Oracle.com/thread/3797436

Why is it so hard to understand? The Oracle for Linux database setup is a Java based installer that requires X Window. No X Window - no graphical interface. There is no text based installer. If you do not use any GUI, do a silent install, you can look in the documentation.

  • How to add SQL Server technology for topologies to odi 12 c in Oracle Linux

    Hello

After completing installation odi 12 c on oracle Linux I have not found SQL Server topology in topologies. I downloaded a jdbc SQL Server and after extracting it I placed the jar files in

Home/Oracle /. ODI/oracleodi/userlib and restart odi studio, but it does not add the topology. what I need to do to add it. Please check the picture.

Technology of SQL Server should be there by default. Probably, what is happening here is that you have the filter to hide the technology applied. Click on the Blue Factory icon in the upper right of technology side and uncheck this option

So, why postinstall auditor has not found of ntpd running?

This situation was prior to installation, I started, but this time I ignored the warning.

Thank you very much for your answers!

The problem is that in both servers, I want to use ntp, and I wrote in the configuration on both servers,

    Server ntp.myorg.local iburst

but we use two IPs for ntp, both resolved through dns servers, so in my case the first server got a single for the ntp server ip address and then got another ip. It was a problem and check postinstall determine that the servers use different time sources and do not like this situation.

Once I changed ntpd config to use ips, check postinstall succeeded.

I got an error grid Infrastructure installation Oracle 11 GR 2 (11.2.0.4) for a stand-alone server on Oracle Linux 7

    It's my environment:

    VM VirtualBox

    OS: Linux to Oracle 7

    RAM: 2G

    CPU: 1 outlet | 2 carrots

OS packages for the needs of the DB: all except pdksh. (installed in ksh). Jut ignored.

Oracle software version: 11 GR 2 (11.2.0.4) Oracle grid Infrastructure

    Installation type: SServer tandalone.

The installation user: uid = 501 (oracle)

installation groups: gid = 501 (oinstall) groups: oinstall, dba, oper, asmadmin, asmdba, asmoper.

Put ASM implementation with Linux e/s Standard (No. ASMLib).

The virtual machine has 3 disks attached.

    Features: / dev/sdb, / dev/sdc, / dev/sdd

    I ran to related records:

    # / bin / / dev/raw/raw1 gross/dev/sdb1

    # / bin / / dev/raw/raw2 gross/dev/sdc1

    # / bin / / dev/raw/raw3 gross/dev/sdd1

    # raw - qa

    / dev/RAW/raw1: linked main 8, minor 17

    / dev/RAW/raw2: linked main 8, minor 33

    / dev/RAW/raw3: linked main 8, minor 49

Also, I have configured the following command to set permanent configuration:

    #vi /etc/udev/rules.d/99-vmware-scsi-udev.rules99-vmware-scsi-udev.rules

    ACTION == "add", KERNEL == "sdb1", RUN += "/ bin/raw/dev/raw/raw1 %N".

    ACTION == "add", KERNEL == "sdc1", RUN += "/ bin/raw/dev/raw/raw2 %N".

    ACTION == "add", KERNEL == "sdd1", RUN += "/ bin/raw/dev/raw/raw3 %N".

    # set permissions on these discs for the owner of the Oracle user.

ACTION == "add" KERNEL == "" raw * ', OWNER is 'oracle', GROUP is 'oinstall' MODE is "0660" "

NOTE: when I run # ls - lrt/dev/sd *, I - I don't know if the disks has permissions icies because they are on the way to access/dev/raw/raw *.

This happens whenever I restart the server.

Using RAW could be the problem. I'm not sure someone who has used Virtual Box with raw disks for their RAC testbed. Most people use ASM. I've seen a few people use NFS as well. You'll also want to stay away raw because that which is frowned upon in 11.2. See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e41962/whatsnew.htm#RILIN931

Under the Options deprecated for Oracle RAC 11 g Release 2:

"Installation of files on raw devices is no longer an option available during installation. You must use a shared file system, or using Oracle Automatic Storage Management. »

Here's how to configure RAC on my laptop with Virtual Box: http://www.peasland.net/2015/04/23/oracle-rac-on-my-laptop-with-virtual-box/
