The Oracle Linux 5.10 ADR 11.1.1.6.0 installation problem

People,

Hello. I have implemented PeopleSoft Campus Solution 9.0 revision 5 for a University.

I need to create the web page application online for future student to apply for admission.

My installations of PeopleSoft are below:

Server machine: Oracle Linux 5.10 (64-bit)

Client computer: Windows XP Professional (64 edition) with the Internet Explorer browser

Architecture Internet Oracle Linux 5.10 Server:

(1) database server: Oracle Database 11 g

(2) the server application: Tuxedo 11 g

3) web server: logic of Web 10.3.6.0

(4) browser: Firefox Mozila

(5) two Instances of huge database on the database server: 8.53 PeopleTools and PeopleSoft Campus Solution 9.0 R5

I just finished installing Oracle ADR (Application Development Runtime) 11.1.1.6.0 with Weblogic 10.3.6.0 in Oracle Linux 5.10 Server machine. In step 3 of 8 required checks, impossible to pass the 2 items below:

(1) verification of recommended operating system Packages (no pass)

(2) verification of the parameters of the kernel (no pass)

Oracle Linux 5 is certified with ADR and prerequisite verification certificate of operating system is spent, so, I keep the installation to the end successfully.

My question is:

2 items not moved will not affect the development of applications or performance later? If so, how to fix?

Thanks in advance.

(1) the parameters are necessary, but the system is running with a lower number. Right in the middle of the execution of your application, enter you the maximum and your system stops. It is best to set the values for the given numbers. When you run the Setup program and go to the test page and the test fails, you should be able to click the test below and the installation should continue. If the continue button is not active, you must correct the error.

(2) I don't have an oel5 system. Missed, you have not all if necessary values in your limits.conf file? The syntax for the Scriptures is essential. Look at the other lives in the files. How do they look like?

I guess you need to add a space after the * who would set the setting for all users, or set you it only for user oracle, which is the one you normally install the software with. Check out the tutorial I posted the link with my last post. You may need to add the line /etc/pam.d/login and etc/pam.d/sshd.

  • DNS settings to the Oracle Linux server

    Hi all

I have windows server 2003 dns and Oracle linux server 5.3

How can I resolve ip or add it as a DNS Server 2003 client.

I need to create RAC installation. to test the object.

The ip address of the DNS 192.168.31.5

    Node1 ip is 192.168.31.2

    Node 2 ip is 192.168.31.3

    Please suggest.

    Thank you

    Hello

This is actually a question of Windows Server. This is the official documentation for adding a host in DNS in Windows Server:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc779029%28V=WS.10%29.aspx

For a 2-node Oracle RAC, you must:

2 public IPs, you already have these:

    192.168.31.2 Node1

    Node2 192.168.31.3

    2 virtual IPs, for example:

    Node1-vip 192.168.31.12

    Node2-vip 192.168.31.13

address 1 scan resolve in 1 or more IP addresses, for example:

    n scan 192.168.31.14, 192.168.31.15, 192.168,31.16

(3 addresses are default, but 1 will be perfectly fine for a cluster 2 node test)

All these above must be in the same subnet.

Finally, you can add interfaces private to the DNS also, but this is not necessary if, for example:

    Node1-priv 172.16.31.2

    Node2-priv 172.16.31.3

Note that the private interfaces must be on a subnet differenet.

    An idea to solve wellcome.

  • Install Oracle Linux 6 update 2 in vmware fusion

Then I looked around and it seems that there is a bug in the oracle linux distro that causes the screen to be cut in the installation program.

The solution which is given anywhere is for vm workstation and go into the settings of the virtual machine, and configure the virtual machine display to have a screen at 1024 x 768. Save the settings.

However in vmware fusion 4.1 I don't seem to have that option.

Does anyone know another solution for this?

    Thank you

    Mike

    Hi dalupus,

The quick and easy solution is just use the keyboard... on most pages Installer, simply pressing enter move you to the next screen, even if there is no Next button visible. If you change something on one of the pages of the Setup program, the Enter key may not work... In this case also, Alt-N should be is to click on the button "Next" invisible. With my keyboard, it's the - N Option; You may need to adjust your keyboard and layout. I can use this technique to make throughout the Oracle Linux 6 update 2 installation on Fusion here. After restarting the virtual machine in the second stage of the installation, you will see at least the half top of the keys. Once the operating system is configured and that you log the guest operating system, follow the instructions in KB to install the correct video driver in the comments.

If you prefer to do the next button appear correctly from the start, you will need to change the configuration of your virtual machine file to include:

    SVGA. AutoDetect = "FALSE".

    svga.maxWidth = "1024".

    svga.maxHeight = "768".

Make sure that you remove these two lines, once the client's video driver is set to day, otherwise, the virtual machine display stuck at 1024 x 768.

    I hope this helps!

  • New installation woes - SQLDeveloper on Oracle 11 g XE and Oracle Linux x 64

Note that as a developer Oracle experienced in enterprise environments running the MS Windows operating system, I am familiar with SQLDeveloper for Windows. However, I have not much experience with Linux. I find not intimidating, just, I don't have a lot of accumulated knowledge.

Recently, I tried to set up a development environment on my portable Windows7 Professional x 64.

    1 installed Oracle VBox
    2. install Oracle Linux 5.2 inside the VBox (because Oracle 11 g XE is not certified on 64-bit Windows, to go with a Linux OS)
3 installed Oracle DB 11.2 XE
4 Installing JDK as described in SQLDeveloper for Linux x 64 release notes
    5 installed SQLDeveloper 3.1.07.42 - 1

No apparent problems with any of the facilities.

Problem: I can run SQL Plus command line, but when I click on the icon for SQLDeveloper, nothing happens. No error message, nothing else.

Question #1: Not sure how debug/fix it. Will read through the installation and release for SQLDeveloper, but any suggestions would be welcome.

Question #2: This could be due to a problem with the installation of JDK? It appeared to be successful (no obvious problem), but I do not see anything this either in the Oracle Linux menu system that tells me the JDK was installed successfully. How can I make sure that the JDK installation was successful?

Linux x 64 of SQLDeveloper version is shipped with the JDK. There is a recommended JDK version, with a view to install it before installing SQLDeveloper. What I did with apparent success. I guess I'll have to reinstall the JDK and check my Java versions later. Thank you.
    >
I don't know what JDK you have downloaded since you didn't say. What version is this? Post the link.

I can hardly believe that the recommended JDK version is 1.4.2 since it is an OLDER version of Java, you have to hunt to find even for download and, especially, the main download page, sql Developer Announces clear what version of Java is required.
    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/SQL-Developer/downloads/index.html

    JDK support
Oracle SQL Developer 3.1 comes with JDK1.6.0_11. However, you can connect and use any JDK 1.6.0_11 or higher. To use an existing JDK, download the below zip files "with JDK installed.' already
    >
As you can see you need JDK 1.6.0_11 or above.

If the version that you say was recommended was actually 1.4.2 is a mistake; view details so that developers can get this fixed an error.

I don't know what is on your system and can only go by the information you provide
    >
4 Installing JDK as described in SQLDeveloper for Linux x 64 release notes
    . . .
    version Java '1.4.2 '.
    >
You have either downloaded the 1.4.2 version which seems unlikely, or your Linux included 1.4.2 and it is used when you try to start sql developer.

Maybe that your system has now several versions of Java top but the version used by sql developer is evil. If so this is the question that you have to solve.

  • Install the ADF 12.1.3.0 essential WegLogic 11 g and Oracle Linux 5

    People,

Hello. I install ADF essential 12.1.3.0 with WegLogic 11 g with Oracle Linux 5 operating system.

The WebLogic 11 g and JDK 1.7 have been installed in my machine and work properly for a long time.

    I downloaded Oracle ADF critical 12.1.3.0 on http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/ADF/downloads/index.html .

The tutorial http://orafapp.blogspot.com/2014/07/install-and-configure-ADF-development.html installs ADF with WebLogic 12 c and 3 parts as below:

Part i: install ADF and set the field of the logic of the Web.

Part II: creating the RCU for ADF.

Part III: Configure the WebLogic domain.

    There are 3 files in the package: adf - essentials.zip, adf-essentials-customer - ear.zip and adf-essentials-client - war.zip

I unzip the file "adf - essentials.zip" and run the file .jar as below:

    java $-jar oracle.xdb_12.1.0.jar

Error message: cannot load oracle.xdb_12.1.0.jar Main-class manifest attributes

    My questions are:

First of all, I have to follow the 3 parties above to install ADF 12.1.3 essential for WebLogic 11 g with Oracle Linux 5?

Second, how to solve the error message above? People allow a tutorial for me to install?

    Thirdly, what are the client 2 client-essentials-adf - ear.zip and adf-essentials-customer files - war.zip do?

    Thanks in advance.

  • How to install the web 32-bit server on Oracle Linux 7 (64 bit) for Siebel SWE?

    Hello community,

I'm being a sandbox Siebel installation in a Virtualbox machine using Oracle Linux 7, Oracle DB 12 c and Siebel 15.5.

I did very well for all installation process since it became a large number of Frank from previous versions.

However, I still have a remaining item left which I have not been able to solve: Web server

Originally, I installed 64 bit version of HTTP Server Oracle 11g of Web tier that filled well.

However, after you apply the profile SWE logic, web server would fail start given that 32 libraries cannot be interpreted in 64-bit.

Therefore, I tried to download 32 bit Web layer HTTP server only to find out that I could not even install using the linux32 command.

Finally, I tried to build my own Apache server that required me to also build apr and apr-util libs.

    It was beautiful.

    [siebel@sbl-lab bin] $. / apachectl v

    Server version: Apache/2.4.17 (Unix)

    Built-in Server: 11 November 2015 00:41:35

    Server loaded: APR APR-UTIL 1.5.4 1.5.2

    D DEFAULT_ERRORLOG = "logs/error_log".

    D AP_TYPES_CONFIG_FILE = "conf/mime.types"

    D - SERVER_CONFIG_FILE = conf/httpd.conf"

However, once I started the web server after you apply the SWE, I received the following message:

    [siebel@sbl-lab bin] $. / startapa

httpd: syntax on line 503 of /opt/siebel/apache/conf/httpd.conf error: structure of the API module 'swe_module' in the file /opt/siebel/apache/modules/libmod_swe.so is garbled - signature expected 41503234 but 41503232 - perhaps it is not an Apache DSO module, or has been compiled for a different version of Apache?

I've been contemplating installing a chroot, a container or even another virtual machine exclusively for the web server.

Before proceeding with additional measures that I might regret, could you please how you would proceed in this case?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

    Alejandro Soto Laguas

Nevermind, I checked certifications and Apache 2.2 should be used instead of Apache 2.4

    Everything is ok now.

So, why postinstall auditor has not found of ntpd running?

This situation was prior to installation, I started, but this time I ignored the warning.

Thank you very much for your answers!

The problem is that in both servers, I want to use ntp, and I wrote in the configuration on both servers,

    Server ntp.myorg.local iburst

but we use two IPs for ntp, both resolved through dns servers, so in my case the first server got a single for the ntp server ip address and then got another ip. It was a problem and check postinstall determine that the servers use different time sources and do not like this situation.

Once I changed ntpd config to use ips, check postinstall succeeded.

  • Details on the implementation of shared memory to set memory_target on Oracle Linux

    Hi all.

    I have a database of Oracle 11 g Rel2 (11.2.0.4) 64-bit running on Oracle Linux 5.8 64-bit.

Several notes on MOS, must properly configure the shared memory to make use of automatic (memory_target) memory management.

On these notes basically to allocate memory: Mount size of t tmpfs-o shmfs = 1073741824/dev/shm

And keep the overall starting value by adding an entry in/etc/fstab: shmfs/dev/shm tmpfs size = 1073741824 0

My doubt is that oracle Linux uses tmpfs instead of shmfs:

    [oracle@union ~] $ df-h/dev/shm

S.ficheros Tamaa±o Disp Uso % Montado used in

    tmpfs 7, 9G 0 7, 9G 0% / dev/shm

    [oracle@union ~] $

    [oracle@union ~] Mount $

    / dev/map/VolGroup00-LogVolroot on / type ext3 (rw)

    proc on/proc type proc (rw)

    Sysfs on/sys type sysfs (rw)

    type devpts on/dev/pts devpts (rw, gid = 5, mode = 620)

    / dev/sda1 on/U01 type ext3 (rw)

    / dev/sdb1 on / boot type ext3 (rw)

    tmpfs on/dev/SHM type tmpfs (rw)

    None on/proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc (rw)

    sunrpc on/var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs type rpc_pipefs (rw)

    / dev/sdc1 on/media/respaldos type vfat (rw)

    [oracle@union ~] $

    [oracle@union ~] $ cat/etc/fstab

    / dev/VolGroup00/LogVolroot / ext3 defaults 1 1

    LABEL = / u01/U01 ext3 defaults 1 2

    LABEL = / boot/boot ext3 defaults 1 2

    tmpfs/dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0

    devpts/dev/pts devpts gid = 5, mode = 620 0 0

    Sysfs/sys sysfs defaults 0 0

    proc/proc proc defaults 0 0

    / dev/VolGroup00/LogVolswap swap swap defaults 0 0

As you can see it's ride on tmpfs/dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0

So the question is: is it the same? is tmpfs just a label? After all this is pointing to/dev/SHM and tmpfs.

    Best regards, Luis.

I have this line in/etc/fstab on OEL 6.5 system that I use now to give me 4 GB shared memory:

    tmpfs / dev/shm tmpfs defaults, size = 4000 m 0 0

Internet is not able to access Linux comments!, I checked the firewall for Linux, it is disabled.

    Appreciate your help with this.

    Thank you

You did not first louyo 'NAT or Bridged?' question but its context was not perhaps not clear even if, after seeing...

    [root@test-host ~] # ifconfig

    eth0 Link encap HWaddr 00: 0C: 29:55:EF:96

    INET addr:192.168.241.0 Bcast:192.168.241.255 mask: 255.255.255.0

RUNNING BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 metric: 1

It is not really important because despite everything, it is patently obvious what is the main problem!

The IP address of the guest operating system is not set properly!

louyo asked 'NAT or Bridged?', meaning is card virtual machine network configured as a 'NAT or Bridged?' if it has been filled, the guest operating system would have an IP address on the 192.168.0.0 subnet IP and as NAT would have an IP address on the 192.168.62.0 IP subnet.

Configure the guest operating system to use DHCP or manually assign a correct IP address while setting the virtual machine Network Adapter is connected by a bridge or a NAT. Since the host uses a Wi - Fi connection, I suggest using NAT and if manually assign an IP address must be between 192.168.62.3 and 192.168.62.127, as that is beyond the scope of the DHCP Server VMnet8 IP address Pool. If you choose to use Bridged can use DHCP in the guest operating system or using an IP address that is outside the scope of the routers IP DHCP Server Address Pool and for that, you need to check the Configuration of the router.

You didn't say which VMware product or version you are using however I strongly suggest you read the documentation and specifically Chapter 5 "Configuring network connections" in Using VMware Workstation (PDF file).

vCenter Converter only recognizes the / boot partition in the ' Data to copy "section"Select volumes to copy.

If I leave before the conversion fails when you try to reconfigure the virtual computer. I looked in the user guide and google a bit but I can't seem to find why the LVM ext4 partition is not recognized by the converter 5.

Yes, it seems that the output has changed in more recent versions, so we need to update converter accordingly... but always the solution to workaround with the older LVM version on the source (how old?) should work...

  • the prerequisite check fails on oracle linux 6-> oracle 11.2

    Hi guys,.

I try to install oracle on oracle linux 11.2 6

I get via oracle-rdbms-server-11gR2-preinstall-verify yum and no warnings are triggered.

If I try to download all packages via yum manually asked as a prereq, yum response that everything is kept up-to-date to the latest version (with the exception of pdksh, present in the repository more...).

When I run the Setup, the prerequisite check fails!

Here the Setup log. I post only for libaio but is not the only one (glibc, odbc, pdksh)

    My packages are too recent?

If I ignore the errors the installation completed successfully went well. But I wonder if the above errors could be the oracle server is not stable.

    Could someone help?

    Thank you very much

    Andrea

What exact version of 11 GR 2? Only 11.2.0.3 is currently certified with Linux 6.x - if you use 11.2.0.1 or 11.2.0.2, you should not use Linux 5.x

  • Oracle Client 32-bit and 64-bit in the same Linux machine

    Dear,

I have installed Oracle 64-bit server in my Linux box. The 64-bit client is sure to be installed also. But for some reason, I need to install the 32-bit client on the same machine and do the job as well as the 64-bit client.
I downloaded the 32-bit package and installed successfully with the user ora32. Run the root.sh to implement the approx... The user who installed the original oracle server is oracle.

For the oracle user, I was able to connect to the server.

But for the user ora32, I failed to connect to the database with the following error.

So, if you use @ora32, this means that the connection between tcp/ip.

If directory type sqlplus command, it will use IPC (interprocess communication). I understand?
