Dongle Link-5 HP

The HP Link-5 dongle will work with no HP 2.4 GHz devices? I use Windows XP sp3.

HP Link-5 technology requires the firmware on the side of the unit so that the USB receiver, so produced 2.4 Ghz from other manufacturers will not work with your USB Link-5 receiver.

Hope this helps,

Dave

Does anyone know the best Setup for this configuration?  I'm running the extreme last, among other airports, and I'm trying to connect on the side of the 5 g AC with a mid 2009 unibody MBP running El Capitan and a usb wifi interface D-Link DWA - 182 c 1200 AC. After months of searching for a working driver, I came finally on the Asus Wireless Network Utility, which works, but seems to want only to connect to the part of 2.4 g of my extreme, although I got it to connect AC, but only randomly.  I wonder if the network or dongle interface utility is smart enough to get a USB3 port which is not my old MBP, or if it's just a configuration problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It seems that the latest driver for this USB adapter has been updated to work with OS X 10.7. I guess that's the reason why you are not able to configure the 801.11 AC adapter.

  • Link-5 dongle no driver available for Win 7 Pro 64-bit

Bought an Elite v2 Wireless keyboard that comes with a dongle to Link-5.

The keyboard is listed as compatible with Win XP, 7, Vista, 8. But when the link-5 dongle is connected to my EliteBook 8470w windows reports that could not be not installed, no driver available. It appears in the device under 'Other devices' Manager with a warning icon.

The product help said that no driver is necessary. The laptop is fully patched and running Windows 7 Pro and clearly needs a driver. I have confirmed that all the elements in the keyboard and HID a current drivers Device Manager, but still the dongle is not installed.

Finally reinstalled all Drivers USB Intel and the keyboard has been recognized.

  • Excite Pro AT10LE - A - broadband USB dongle connection

Anyone know if it is possible to connect a micro USB cable USB female to use a dongle broadband when wireless is not available.

In the past, I linked the tablet to my phone and come this way, but I have a dongle to spare I can use.
    See you soon.

I've never tested this configuration, but in my opinion the other USB WiFi dongle will not be recognized.

The micro-USB port that is available to connect the tablet to a computer to transfer data. The tablet can acts as a host and client via this port.
In addition some additional devices such as the keyboard or the mouse (HiDs) could be connected but it will be available in the latest version of the software.

To connect a USB device, you must use a microphone, a socket for a cable from the Jack.

  • virtual serial port? Vista 64-bit, usb, palm 755 p verizon dongle

I have a new Vista 64 bit operating system and I'm having problems that everyone else is still.  Can't hotsync using the cable.  I bought the dongle bluetooth (Kensington) that many have said works.  My phone recognizes the PC.  My instructions on the phone that warm using bluetooth synchronization tells me to set up a virtual serial port.  The instructions are not very clear.  This is where it falls apart for me.  Can someone explain how to configure this virtual serial port?  Thank you.

Well, I'm pleased to announce a successful solution.  On the recommendation of some other son that I left and piece and ioGear GBU321 Bluetooth USB key and Setup was a snap and it works (although SLOOOWLY compared to a connection cable, a while and plug your treo during your first sync).

To setup you do the following (and this can also work for your Kensington):

    • Insert the driver CD
    • Insert the dongle when asked.
    • Install the drivers
    • Pair your device.  Basically, go to the configuration Bluetooth on the Palm screen and select "Trusted Devices".  You will find the bluetooth adapter, select it, and then the Palm or PC will provide or ask a pairing code.  The instructions will guide you through, but basically, you'll want to make sure that the same numbers are registered on both screens (this prevents you from accidentally pairing with some random near the computer)
    • This will actually set up your virtual port for you.
    • You can go to the hotsync Manager and click on "serial" and select the port created in the pairing process.
    • If you don't know which port has been created "Control Panels" and select "Phone and Modem" (assuming that you are in "Classic view").
    • Click on the modem tag and you will see something like 'Standard Modem over Bluetooth link' and next to that it will be the assigned port.

I hope this helps.  I know that I was relieved not to have to trash my Palm or my PC (although when the Pre or iPhone with a physical keyboard comes out all bets are open)

  • Elegant keyboard / mouse combo - Link-5 question

I recently bought a HP combo elegant key/mouse wireless.

However, I prefer a mouse with extra side so buttons and more, I bought a HP X 6000 Wireless Mouse that comes with the receiver dongle USB Link-5.

I was hoping to only use a USB receiver to connect both elegant wireless keyboard (P/n: 672648-002) and mouse wireless X 6000, but it did not work.  I don't know if the keyboard is compatible with Link-5 or the receiver combo-compatible mouse.

Is it possible to use one of these dongles for two devices?

    Thank you

    Julz77, welcome to the forum.

It is my understanding that technology receiver dongle USB Link-5 requires the firmware on the side of the device and the USB receiver.  It is supposed to work with only a family of devices.  I doubt that the mouse X 6000 has the necessary firmware.
