down free space after doing a windows update!

OK, I don't know what's going on, but after I installed the updates of windows on my computer, I lost 3 GB of space free all together! (at first it was only 1 to 2 GB, and I brushed it off because I think it's the space updates have taken place, but then decreased 1 GB of itself!)

I'm not using the inet (well, except for the now, since my question) and I was running just a scan of Prevx (since SpiritX recommends so in its messages)

everyone knows what is happening?

[1].. .but it was produced AFTER I did the update. Why this is starting to happen only AFTER the update

[2].. . How do delete you old shadow copies and keep the most recent 1?

A1. The SP2 installer alone can be as large as 577,4 MB.

Got a response from Ms.  Good all who have this problem - you have an ATI Radeon graphics card?  Driver is causing the conflict.  Uninstall all the stuff ATI goes on ATI web site and install the download of 'single driver '.  Reboot and then you can download and install other fancy programs that come with your graphics card.

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

  • Restart after that a windows update problem with VirusScan from McAfee (total Protection)

    I'm under 64-bit Windows VISTA Home Premium SP 1 on a Dell Studio 540 desktop.  8.0 GB RAM.  Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 CPU @ 2 .66GHz.
Late last night, I started the PC to go online.  Shortly after, I was invited by Windows update to restart.  So I closed off everything and rebooted, except that I kept scheduled analysis of McAfee, which I set up for Fridays.  I have McAfee Total Protection, which includes VirusScan.  That the PC would shut down, there was a message on the screen of McAfee who said, essentially, stop this scan before restarting.  I'm paraphrasing - I didn't write down the exact message.  After reboot, I started again the background anti-virus scanning.  After a few minutes, I received the following message:
    Microsoft Windows
Order McAfee VirusScan Scan - Are asked to work and was closed. A problem with the application to stop functioning properly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available.
I have not received a solution of Windows.  I completely uninstalled McAfee Total Protection, following the instructions of McAfee, then reinstalled.  Everything went very well with these processes.  I have yet to receive an indication of the McAfee software that something is wrong.  After the reinstallation, I tried a scan, but got the same error message as above after a few minutes.  It does not occur immediately, analysis continues for about 5 minutes, then abandoned.
Chatted with Dell today.  They suggested a system restore, I will try then.

    What updates have been installed?

During certain infections that are designed to defeat security software will cause the bomb on analyses with an error.

I also suggest you contact the McAfee Support since it is their product which blocks.  http://service.McAfee.com/TechSupportHome.aspx?LC=1033&SG=TS

  • Windows 7: C:\ of used disk space increase GB on windows updates.

I have a new Windows 7 system. I noticed that whenever I do a windows update and some time after I do an update, exhausted C: increase GB disk space. He went, as seen in the properties of C:,18.2 GB to 25.6 26.1 to 26.5 to 26.7 at 26.8 GB in 1 month. These sizes are shown in the properties of the c of theoutside of C:. I started to monitor the size of the disk and found that if I go in the C: drive and highlight all the files and folders visible and hidden and then ask properties it shows constant23 GB and shows that properties outside C: C: drive showed25.6 GB. The C: Windows folder shows constant 14.6 GB. So why the gap between the inside and the outside and why the increase in size?

I used the disc cleanup etc but the problem remains.

Select Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, cleaning disk to emptying your trash, delete temporary Internet files and other selected options. I recommend also you click Other Options, System Restore and delete all but the last system restore point. Run Disk Defragmenter.

A better program of disk cleanup is cCleaner. Delete System Restore points may be important if you have little free disk space. The ability to delete them is one of the tools options. You can selectively remove those created in less important moments.

cCleaner also comes with a registry tool. Do not use this tool as any registry cleaner could lead to the creation of very difficult to resolve system errors.

  • HP Stream 13: Compensation of free space after w10 upgraded

I got upgraded from W8.1 to W10 using Windows Update.

Now, I would welcome advice on what I can now delete to create more free space. I find myself with 6.16 GB of free space on my C drive after installing my programs required. I have a SDHC card installed for the registration of documents, etc..

I looked at the disk cleanup and see that within the system of files I have two as candidates for deletion but don't want not just to clean up these files without thinking it through.

    They are:

    1. the previous Windows Installations 19.2 GB file size

2 size 1.03 GB Windows Setup files

No one knows for sure if I'm sure to clean up these two files?

  • Reclaim free space after deleting Partition Bootcamp

After installing a new SSD and gives back to the top of time Machine, I deleted my Bootcamp partition on my MBP using Boot Camp Assistant. The Boot Camp partition, although MS-FAT was no longer bootable after recovery, and I thought again and use Winclone to retrieve my Windows backup.  The result of delete Boot Camp seems good:

    XXXs-MacBook-Pro: ~ the name list $ diskutil

    / dev/disk0 (internal, physical):

    #: NAME SIZE TYPE IDENTIFIER

    0: GUID_partition_scheme * 960,2 GB disk0

    1: disk0s1 EFI EFI 209.7 MB

    2: Apple_HFS Macintosh HD 959,3 GB disk0s2

    3: disk0s3 Apple_Boot Recovery 650.0 MB HD

But when I look at the storage, I find that I went 113 GB on my hard drive MacIntosh partition (or says my Time prior Machine backup) to more than 300 GB.  The Boot Camp 118.5 GB partition is gone, but the 'Other' segment seems to have increased to 284 GB.

I see a lot of solutions online for free space recovery after the removal of Boot Camp, but they do not seem to apply to me.  Many are for removals of Boot Camp failed using disk utility.  Several involve CS, but I have no basic storage.  I tried to boot into recovery and repair.  I tried several reboots to clear space.

    Any ideas, please?

Please after the release of the following OSX Terminal commands...

    diskutil list

    Cs diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

Please enter your password when you are prompted by the command 'sudo '.

  • After the recent windows update August 16, 2012, my connection to Internet is not working...

    Hello

I use a laptop HP Pavilion with Windows Vista. August 17, 2012, my connection Internet has stopped working. He was showing 'Local' only against the State of the connection, even if my cable internet and routers wireless work correctly. I have connected to the internet from another computer using Windows XP.

After having tried many options to solve the problem of the internet for fews and realizing none of them solved my problem: (, I decided to restore the computer to the factory settings on August 19, 2012.) But to my surprise, system recommended to restore to an earlier date (before these recent automatic updates are made on August 16, 2012). I thought to try and to my surprise, my connection Internet started working :).  Which made me think that something that happens in the recent update that is causing my internet connection does not work.

At the beginning I was in doubt, but now I'm fully convinced as next morning of day again my internet connection stopped working again. I checked Windows update history and realized again automatically updates performed on August 20, 2012. I restored my computer to the previous version before updates again and the Internet started working.

Here's what I see in the history of the update for that day.

Update of security suites for Microsoft Office 2007 (KB2596856)

Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Vista Systems (KB2722913) based on x 64

Update security for Windows Vista for x 64-based systems (KB2731847)

Update security for Windows Vista for x 64-based systems (KB2712808)

Update of security suites for Microsoft Office 2007 (KB2596615)

Update security for Windows Vista for x 64-based systems (KB2705219)

    Windows x 64-August malicious software removal tool (KB890830) 2012

    Can anyone help answer more?

-What day could cause this problem?

-How can I just remove this one update which may cause a problem (I'd like to get the other automatic updates in the future, so don't want to disable the auto update)?

The guys at Microsoft told me, problem is introduced by McAfee.  Here is the link for the solution to the problem.

    http://service.McAfee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?ID=TS101446

I didn't try it myself, as my internet problem is automatically solved in a few days. I think that my version of McAfee must have automatically been updated, which may have solved the problem.

I use windows 7 on a new computer.  During the first month, everything was fine.  Updates have been downloaded and installed without any problems.  However, recently, after an update to windows, my computer started running very slowly.  After the restart, it took a lot of time loading of windows.  When he did, I got the message that gfxui.exe had ceased to function.  This now happens on every reboot.  My computer is slow and does not load correctly.

Its related to the graphics card intel, it probably means that you have installed recommended updates (drivers)

Access your site from PC manufacturers, for your model and update the chipset drivers & chart

Then, in Windows Update > settings disable the recommended updates, leaving only important selected updates
