Downgrade of Smartphones blackBerry OS6-5

I would like to downgrade to OS5 on my Curve 9300, I kinda like the 6, but the battery life is too short. I'm not a real big user but just with a bit of messagings and to go on the internet, a few times a day battery isn't even sustainable 8 perhaps 9 hrs. So can someone please give me instructions on how to do it?

Thanks in advance

1. If you have manually downloaded and installed the new operating system on your PC, delete the most recent operating system of your PC by going to control panel > Add/Remove programs. If you upgraded via OTA or automatically by the desktop software, go to step 2.

2. next, download and install the earlier version of the operating system. Operating system blackBerry downloads

3. install the older operating system to the computer by running (double click) the downloaded file.
4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
5. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • Mobile Smartphones blackBerry OS6 native browser display

Hi, I used to have OS5 for my Curve 9300 and there, my browser, I have an option to have the page or column mode. Now when I've upgraded to OS6, I thought having lost this option and all the site I go is not on mobile view, but rather on the layout of the web page view/normal. Is that how it really is for OS6 native browser?

In BlackBerry® Device Software 5.0, in the browser Options > General Options > default view, there is an option to select the column or Page.

This feature has been removed in BlackBerry Device Software 6.0 due to improvements in browser.

  • Downgrade of Smartphones blackBerry Desktop Software v5

I have a Curve 8530 with Verizon. After the upgrade to v.6 Desktop software, I lost the ability to synchronize a certain 3rd party app. App support told me that 'BB Desktop Manager 6 has broken our DLL synchronization'. They suggested the demotion to the v5.

I uninstalled v.5 to v.6 then installed, followed by service v.5 package (which I downloaded on the site of BB). Now, the 3rd party fine but app syncs my calendar and do not synchronize contacts! The error I get just says "unknown error reported.

Can someone help me with this?

    Thank you

    -Jeff

Okay, so I was ready with a tech behind me ready to take through the registry, but I decided to try one more simple just first uninstall. What I time I chose the option 'delete all user settings... '. "(whereas the last time I tried to preserve my settings). After uninstalling, I rebooted the PC and then reinstalled Desktop Manager v.5 and it worked (no phone restart required). I was able to sync my 3rd party app as well as the calendar, contacts, etc.

I just have one question: is the important Service Pack v.5 or I can continue without it? This time I only installed Desktop Software v.5, but last time I also installed the Service Pack. I am not sure if it was the user settings or the SP that the does not before job. (Or, for that matter, is the SP a complete installation by itself, requiring an uninstall of v.5?)

  • Downgrade of Smartphones blackBerry V6 to V5

I upgraded to V6.0.0.526 a few weeks ago.  Now, the battery life is less than half of what it was and I get a memory insufficient notice quite often, Inow have 16.7 MB of free space.  How can I stay safe at my old V5?

If the apps comes with OS 6, you will lose them when you return to OS 5 using the update or restore functions I described for you.

The only way to keep it is to keep the OS 6.  It's kind of an all or nothing deal.

  • Smartphones blackBerry OS6 update

Hi, im in the process of updating to os5 056 and his lasts two hours and he was stuck on the loading of the system software, and the phone looks dead. I have a bold 9700

not more than 10-15 minutes. Don't forget, the first boot on the phone will take more time. Just wait patiently.

    In addition, a small Council.

As the 9700 less than memory, it would be a less sensitive and less memory. Don't be disappointed. Perform a battery pull at least once a day. In a few days, the operating system becomes stable and you will love it. Although you should start to love a few minutes right now.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes and mark the thread as solved so it may be useful to others.

  • BlackBerry OS Smartphones Blackberry Bold 9900 software update from version 7.0.0 to version 7.1.0

    HELO everyone

I tried to upgrade my device software Blackberry Bold 9900 version 7.0.0 to version 7.1.0 but with difficulties. I tried to use the Blackberry Desktop Manager, but there was no version 7.1.0 figure among the available updates. Even when I tried to do it directly through the official website of Blackberry, also Version 7.1.0 was not shown. Finally, I tried to do the update with my phone directly by going to: Options > device > software updates.

It shows my Version 7.0.0 Bundle 2406 current and available in a version 7.1.0 Bundle 1149. But when I clicked Perform Update to download the new version, he has shown preparing to download but then displays an error message such as "Download cannot continue because your device cannot connect to the update server using the following methods: Wi - Fi.

During this time, I did not upgrade with a Wi - Fi connection because I have an active blackberry data subscription of 2 GB of my mobile operator.

Please I need help on how to perform the upgrade from version 7.0.0 to version 7.1.0 with the last packet.

Thanks to you all I'm waiting for your helpful solution.

Hello and welcome to the community!

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

This bit is quite unusual... done correctly, you can force any OS on your BB package as long as it's your exact model number. So I'm not sure if you're really using all the good stuff... so, even if a lot of this will be redundant, please examine carefully for subtle tricks do you need to... done correctly, this can heal the situation. But any errors on the way (not ignored, stage not completed correctly, etc.) invalidates the whole process and translates the automatic process of support and limited to only the OS packages currently supported by your specific carrier.

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

You can also try the "skeleton OS Reload procedure" in an attempt to circumscribe the precise causal element:

    1. Load your OS "bare bones"... If everything is optional, do not install it.
    2. If the behavior is immediately, then try another OS with step 1
    3. If the behavior does not immediately, then run for as long as necessary to make you to be sure that the behavior will not occur.
    4. Add one more thing - no matter how tempting, one.
    5. If the behavior does not immediately present, and then runs for long enough to be sure he won't have the same problem
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are responsible or the behavior presents

When the behavior shows up, you know the culprit... the last thing you have loaded.

If the behavior doesn't re-present, then you know that step 1 or 2 cured it.

If the behavior has anything, then you have probably a problem of material level for which no amount of OS or software can heal.

You may also use these tips:

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 9330 misfortunes red light :(

    Hello

I have a 9330 who is having a few problems this morning. I ran a software update to this topic last night and after that he went to restart, it no longer works. My phone is double my staff and my work cell, so I desperately need! I saw another thread to a kind of cloth for her but I did not know if it works for me, and also I need to redownload OS.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the community!

Unfortunately, "it no longer works" gives us nothing to do, so we must guess. A description of exactly what happens when you make a suitable battery pop reboot would be much more useful.

However, to reload your operating system...

At the top of each forum device, there should be some 'sticky' threads dealing with the level of the OS available for each model. Please use those as a reference as you go along.

From a PC, you can install any compatible OS package (for example, for your BB model exact number) of a BB via this procedure:

Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

    • KB19915 How to perform a clean reload of the smartphone BlackBerry using BlackBerry Desktop Software application software

Those who fail, you can try using BBSAK (bbsak.org) utility, which can often retrieve a bricked BB.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones blackberry support community

BBM 7.0.0.123 can't read (unsupported) n emotican of character text

On this basis, I would deduct instead is the BBM message you receive contains characters of a language that you have not installed for your BB. For example, they send Russian characters, but you do not have Russian language installed on your BB, then your BB don't then interpret and display characters and replaces those black boxes in their place.

If you know the language that is sent to you, you can try to install on your BB... do it, start by taking a full and complete backup of your BB... you can find instructions in the link in my sig auto on this post.

    Then, learn this:

    • KB05305 Location of support for BlackBerry smartphones

That will guide you when you choose the packages of BB OS to install on your BB via the following procedure.
