Downgrade to OS5.0 OS6.0 app

Hi all

I am a new bee in the BB software development field.

And I started with a difficult question.

I have the source code of an application written for OS6 and need to downgrade for OS5.

This application uses JSON lib and some OS6 API such as:

net.rim.device.api.lbs.maps.ui.MapField

NET.RIM.Device.API.Command. *.

net.rim.device.api.ui.component.StandardTitleBar

NET. RIM. Device.API.UI.ToolBar

net.rim.device.api.util.StringProvider.

For JSON, I searched on Google and only one thread has said that it can be replaced by json.me (json extention).

How about these APIs above? Could I their downgrade to OS5 or use some other libs rather or rewrite?

Please give me some advice. Thank you very much.

Can't help to the command, not considered seriously.

Re the how can make the toolbar at the bottom of the screen "but" he is not sticking to the form, take a look on the screen.  You can use setStatus (toolbar); and the toolbar will be placed at the bottom of the screen.

  • html5_init.js creates different behaviors of DB on OS5 and OS6! Help!

    Hello

    I am trying to create an application that runs on OS5 and OS6 and uses the html5_init.js scripts provided by RIM around the fact that os5 runs synchronously on gears and asynch OS6 on HTML5...

    After a lot of refactoring and rewrite, it remains now to the next obstacle. On OS5, it works as I hope as follows BUT on OS6 it doesn't, it behaves quite differently

    Example, I create an array of objects and itterate over them and insert them into a table of test.

    function insertTestData() {
        db.transaction(function(tx) {
            var testData = [];
            for (var i = 0; i < 3; i++) {
                var testCodeValue = new Object();
                testCodeValue.code = "code" + i.toString();
                testCodeValue.value = "value" + i.toString();
                testData.push(testCodeValue);
            }

            for (var y = 0; y < testData.length; y++) {
                var code = testData[y].code;
                var value = testData[y].value;

                alert(code);
                alert(value);

                tx.executeSql("INSERT INTO test(code,value) VALUES (?,?)", [code, value], rowInserted, function(tx, err) { alert("Error!"); });
            }
        });
    }

    the end result is:

    Hello

  • Downgrade of Smartphones blackBerry OS6-5

    I would like to downgrade to OS5 on my Curve 9300, I kinda like the 6, but the battery life is too short. I'm not a real big user but just with a bit of messagings and to go on the internet, a few times a day battery isn't even sustainable 8 perhaps 9 hrs. So can someone please give me instructions on how to do it?

    Thanks in advance

    1. If you have manually downloaded and installed the new operating system on your PC, delete the most recent operating system of your PC by going to control panel > Add/Remove programs. If you upgraded via OTA or automatically by the desktop software, go to step 2.

    2. next, download and install the earlier version of the operating system. Operating system blackBerry downloads

    3. install the older operating system to the computer by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    5. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Can I use the calendar to OS5 with OS6?

    I recently upgraded from BB Curve 8900 (with OS 5) to a Bold 9780 (with BlackBerry 6).

    Since I was about 20 clients appointment 2 hours a week, I found at the sight of the "week" of the calendar under OS 5 the best journal I used in more than 30 years! Each day for an entire week showed at least 9 hours and vacant 'niche roles' could be seen in the blink of an eye. The new calendar unfortunately shows no more than seven hours a day (sometimes as little as 5.5), and the details of any appointment obscuring part of the screen when the appointment is selected.

    I am not opposed to change, but I REALLY want to go back to the old calendar. Does anyone know if this can be done with the new operating system?

    Any help or pointers to workaround would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    You cannot use the application calendar of OS5 on your current OS6.
    the only alternative is to use a third-party calendar app. You can certainly find some with a user interface you like here:

  • Problem with BB App World blackBerry Smartphones

    When I try to access it displays a message ' Eception exception: Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError ".

    I also lost Blacberry bridge and have no communication with my Playbook. Any help?

    One solution is to downgrade your AppWorld.

    First, remove your AppWorld course Options > device > Applications

    (or on OS5, Options > Advanced > Applications).

    Then, using your BlackBerry browser, navigate to this link for your operating system level:

    BlackBerry App World v3.0.1.29 [OS7]
    BlackBerry App World v3.0.1.29 [OS6]
    BlackBerry App World v3.0.1.29 [OS5]

  • Smartphones blackBerry how to decrypt encrypted files .rem under OS6?

    Good day all.

    I recently upgraded my OS5 OS6 to Pearl 9100 3, and now I can't decrypt my files encrypted for use on my computer. Under OS5, if I plugged the phone on the computer and the media transport engaged, all the files that I copied on the phone should be automatically encrypted and all the files that I copied the phone is off would be automatically decrypted. I have also the possibility to have converted video files into a form the phone could play under OS6, when I connect the phone to the computer, I get two options for the transfer of data, key USB and Media Sync, but none of these modes seem to decipher automatically files I copy my phone to my computer. All the files I tried to copy my phone under two modes are not on the computer. Is there something that I am missing? If I can't find a way to accomplish the same automatic en/decryption and media conversion which was possible under OS5 media transport mode, under OS6 then I have to downgrade to OS5 again.

    Can someone help me with this?

    Thank you.

    Hi WestWolf_BC,

    Do you currently use Desktop Software 6.0? These articles should provide more information on media files encrypted, but also a possible workaround for you.

  • Simulator of OS6 and torch

    When I try to run the torch on OS5 or OS6 Simulator, he breaks with a null pointer exception. None of my code is executed.  Attached to peak.  (Eclipse)

    What is not seen in the photo is the popup indicating the composite number waiting for me to click "reply".

    The package is Simpackage - 6.0.0.141 - 9800

    Same thing happens when I try the same thing using OS5 and torch so it appears likely that the problem is in the Simulator. I use simulators in 4.5, 4.6, 4.7 and 5.0 without any problem

    Just checked, arrives on the BB JDE also (another pic)

    I have it.  I was able to reproduce it.  The trick is to press the entry instead of the Green send key.

    This will be fixed in a next version of simulator of smartphone BlackBerry.

    You can work around it for now by pressing the Green send instead of enter key.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Facebook App World app

    Following my question the downgrade failed, I lost the Facebook app. The problem I have is that I can't download it from App World because the email address I used for PayPal is different from the one I use for my push BB.

    I tried to download version 1.6 but it says that my device does not support.

    «.. . Since she resumed download? »

    Just to be clear, you are opening your browser and typing "www.blackberry.com/facebook" in there?  I do that and I get redirected to a page on the blackberry.com website has nothing on this subject but a download link for facebook.  No AppWorld, nothing else.

    This may seem like an insulting question, but we have seen problems not resolved due to small misunderstandings like this.  Please confirm that you type exactly this address in your browser.

  • Loading stuck to blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello

    (Similar to a previous post problem: stuck on the update)

    I have a Bold 9700 a little over 2 years now.  I downloaded the Blackberry Desktop software on the RIM site so that I could update my phone OS 5 to 6 of the OS. What I've read here OS6 is not a good idea for the Bold 9700 as I found it.

    So here's the problem, I updated the operating system via the Blackberry Desktop Softwqare and everything was fine until the whole 5 minutes later the phone froze and since then not able to get it running. I think there somethnig to see with an App (iTookThisOnMyPhone) that is causing the problem. The phone turns on eventually (after several battery grips and 1 hour wait), but I can't go to the menu as the clock appears on the screen.

    I think to repair (given by Blackberry Desktop Software solution) is however kind I can keep the data on the phone? Should there be a backup of file when I have updated OS5 to OS6?

    Thanks for any help

    Hello

    A few thoughts for you...

    (Credit JSanders)

    There are two methods for recovering for you to try:

    One:

    • Open Blackberry Desktop Software & connect your device with the PC using the USB cable, without inserting the battery.
    • You have three Retry option, update or cancel, and then click Update.
    • Once it is at the stage of the "initialization of pocket" update, then insert the batteries.
    • If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.

    Second:

    • Start your BlackBerry in safe mode.  Article ID: KB17877 how to start a mode BlackBerry smartphone without failurehttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
    • Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
    • IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
    • Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
    • Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.

    FYI... in response to your earlier question, yes it must be a backup file on your PC to all your data. If you have taken a backup manually, it will be everywhere where you placed it. In addition, when you perform an update via the PC, the software offers to take a backup - as long as you do not defeat this offer, then there will be a backup file on your PC. The desktop software should have the location for the backup files stored... Look at this configuration in the desktop software. Also, search your entire hard drive for files with the extension IPD or BBB (it depends on the version of the desktop software you are using). The results will tell you what you have available, with naturally those with the most recent date/time stamps being the more logical choice for you.

    For a stable start to the BB, you can also try Safe Mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

    It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient.

    For the drastic recovery, here are a few things:

    Hello Bashman40

    Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

    If possible, do not look at or try to update your BlackBerry Bold 9700 to any higher OS like OS6, 5 operating system will offer a response good camera and will experience no problems as a memory device to trolling or freezing. You can search this forum and you will find that most user who has installed the OS6 on there Bold 9700 finally must downgrade to OS5 because Bold 9700 don't have enough memory

  • Problem blackBerry Smartphones under 7 OS for Blackberry Curve 9300

    I use Blacberry Curve 9300, couple days ago I couldn't send all messages through my blackberry messaging, then I checked the blackberry app world and noticed that there is an update for my blackberry (OS 7 v.7.0.0.126) messenger, so I thought that the problem was because I needed to update my blackberry Messenger , and then I have updated.

    At first it was OK, I had no problem, then as of last night, I could not deliver all messages at all (it was just Checklist), but I could received a message that was sent by my contacts and groups, also, I could see the latest updates. The only problem is that I couldn't send messages to any contact. At first it was because of my provider (IND TELKOMSEL), but some of my friends who use the same ISP is so very well.

    Because of the OS 7 I have installed? No idea how to fix? Or I can the downgrade in the last suitable OS 6?

    Thanks in advance,

    See you soon!

    Hi woknugroho

    Usually these updates are pushed to our carrier, but no BlackBerry World, but still I don't think she'll push for BlackBerry® Curve 9300 OS7, please try these simple steps and downgrade your device to OS6 OS7:

    1. locate your carrier and download the operating system you want to leave here carriers

    • (Make sure you download for the same model you have)

    2. double-click on the file that you downloaded to install it on your PC.

    3. download and install the latest version of BlackBerry desktop by BlackBerry desktop software software

    • Then using software office perform your full backup of your device.

    4. search your drive C: Vendor.xml and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml , on the change of your PC your records option to show the hidden files/folders, ( you can skip this step if you are using your carrier OS Pack ):

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\Windows UserName\AppData\Roaming\Research in Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

    5. use BBSAK from http://bbsak.org/ and wipe the unit then after you get the error 507 (without OS), then proceed to the next step.

    6. Finally, go into C:\Program Files Research In Motion\AppLoader. (For Vista or Windows 7 64-bit, the path will be C: > Program Files x 86 > common files > Research In Motion > AppLoader) double-click on Loader.exe.

    Upgrade will continue then after Installation of the new OS restore your BlackBerry Desktop backup

    Software.

  • Do not correctly rendered on OS7 HTML (device and Simulator)

    I used the JavaScript code to position the image in the center of the screen below. It works perfectly on OS5 and OS6 but does not properly on OS7 on device and emulators. Sometimes, I don't get to see the image at all on the screen. What could be the cause of the problem? Thanks in advance for your time.

    var logo = document.getElementById("logo");
    logo.style.position = "fixed";
    var t1 = (screen.height / 2) - 55;
    var l1 = (screen.width / 2) - 55;
    logo.style.top = t1 + "px";
    logo.style.left = l1 + "px";
    logo.style.display = "block";

    Hi bigjavajoe,

    I would check what are the values you get for screen.width and screen.height.  On what version you have maybe you get something weird?
