  1. What is the file format of the attachment?

  2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

  3. using any e-mail client?

  4. what happens when you download adobe flash player, you get any error message or error code?

  This problem may occur if the program default settings have been changed.

  The blue screen you can get after you click on the option to view now is app version of Internet Explorer. When you click on View now its redirecting you to a Web site that tries to open by using the Internet Explorer browser. On the screen you can see two apps, first half is App Mail and the second half of the screen is app of Internet Explorer. In Windows 8 you can share the same screen with 2 or 3 applications at the same time.   Last week I found that I couldn't open attachments in my Hotmail account using Firefox v 3.6.25. I used this version for quite some time and it is a new problem. I have upgraded my Norton 360 v 5.1.0.29. I contacted Norton and they were unable to help me. There is NO problem of access to these attachments when I switch to Chrome or Internet Explorer. Any ideas why Firefox has hesitated to this? I cleared my cache and cookies. No help!

  It's weird. It shows in the specifications of your system as 1.7.0 but when I try to update to 1.6.0_24 I have installed, it tells me I have the latest version. Where did you downloaded this one to?

  Maybe try to disable IE Tab 2 , which allows to disable the Microsoft ActiveX control in Firefox to see if that makes a difference.
