  You can follow the steps below to re - download Windows 8, and also you can create the installation media as well.

  1. Run Installation of Windows 8 .

  2. When you are prompted to run or save the file, choose run

  3. When you are prompted to enter a product key, enter the 25-character product key, that you received when you purchased Windows 8.

  4. When you are prompted to install Windows 8, select install by creating media and then click Next.

  5. Select the type of media you want to use: either a Flash DRIVE or a DVD.

  To create a USB flash drive

  1. Click on a USB flash drive.

  2. Plug the USB key into a USB port on your PC.

  3. When you are prompted, select the USB key that you want to use, and then click Next.

     If you have files on the USB flash drive, it will remove them.

  To create a DVD

  1. Click on the ISO file, and then select the location where to save the ISO file.

  2. Insert a blank recordable DVD into your DVD drive.

  3. Burn the ISO of the DVD file using Windows disc Image burner, or another program DVD burning.

  If you want a Windows XP disk, you will have to pay for one.

  I think the best way is to use the recovery disc. After you have reinstalled Windows you can install SP3 and the latest drivers.

  Thank you for taking the time to respond to my call for help. I'm afraid I have to come clean and admit what has caused the problem. I bought my new computer online since the France because I needed to have a French AZERTY keyboard. I plugged with a France adapter UK and, after the initial installation, goes to download Windows 10. As I did not know that the download can take some I've done other things at the same time and did not download concentrate fully on. To make a long story short, after a lot of testing, some trial and error, I found that the France to the UK adapter I was using was wrong and that, therefore, the attempt to download fully drained battery. After changing the maps, I was able to fully recharge the battery, and now everything seems to be OK. I hope my experience can help other members of the forum. Thanks again.
