DPP

I have a T4i and I've been watching of photo editing software. I am interested in the software, PLR, mainely because it's free.

The latest version 4 of what I see doesn't work with cameras in full frame. I'm not sure if the 3.13.0 version is still available.

I'm new to photogrophy and there are many, I do not understand, but I stay with her.

Can someone tell me if I should be pursuing DPP or start saving for a new computer and Lightroom?

Thank you.

It works with version 4. Start with that.

Is it possible for the DPP to generate jpg for raws that have changed since the last treatment?  I wish I had a way to know (in PPS) which photos have changes that should force republication and go ahead and treat them waiting.  Currently, I need to regenerate the entire directory tree to ensure that all pending updates are applied.

  • Is the DPP came with my Rebel T3 compatible with a 5 d mark ii?

Hello, I just bought a 5 D Mark ii, can I use the DPP software provided with my Rebel T3 with this device?

«.. . You can always download the latest version (upgrade) and be ready to start working... »

It is correct. It should work.

The 5DII is an older model than the T3, if ware which works with T3 should be fine with the 5DII as well.

However, if you have any problems, just update to the latest version of DPP and certainly will work with 5DII.

In fact, it is not a bad idea to keep up-to-date with the latest version of DPP in any case. He is regularly modified and improved, not just updated to the latest versions of the camera.

Later versions of DPP will not work with some models of digital SLR cameras relatively old: 10 d, D60, D30 for example... generating a. CRW file instead of today. CR2. The latest versions of DPP no longer support older cameras and their file format. (Just get a copy of Adobe Elements... which works very well.)

  • Why is there no DPP data for the lens EF75 - 300mm f/4 - 5.6

DPP is not given for my EF75 - 300mm f/4-5. 6 goal.  Why and when?

    Hi PajamaGuy!

    Thanks for posting.

There is no data because the function digital optimizer DPP lens is not compatible with the goal of f/4-5. 6 EF 75-300mm.  This function is not compatible with certain objectives, most of which are in our range of the L series.  We do not have an estimate for if or when the DLO function may be compatible with the objective of f/4-5. 6 EF 75-300mm.

  • DPP Smooth Zoom?

Anyone know if there is a way, during the examination, to zoom in and out smoothly?  I know there are presets to 12.5, 25, 50, etc., but it changed a pain to have to define the predefined setting whenever you want.  In PSP for example, smoothly zoom in-and-out up/down arrows.

If there is not a current method, is there a way to add to a 'DPP list of wishes "?

    Thank you!

    Hi PajamaGuy!

    Thanks for the post.

It is not a smooth zoom feature in DPP, only the hard points of zoom.

  • DPP 4 cut and reframe the Question to the tool

When using DPP 4 setting / Crop tool I can't paste changes to multiple images. When you use the old version of DPP 3, there is a button "apply to all". It was a very useful feature. I hope that it has not been removed in the latest version of the software.

I don't have the time this minute to check it out, so don't take that as gospel until you've tried. But I believe that in V4, unlike his predecessors, cropping is included in the recipe for the picture. So I think that you can do your changes to an image, save in a recipe file, and then apply this file to recipe for as many other images as you want. (Of course you could always do. The question is whether cropping is included in the recipe file, and I think that in the V4's.)

  • How to avoid the DPP transfer CR2 on desktop

    Hello

    Please if you can help me;

    My OS-> XP pro SP3
    My PLR-> version 3.14.15

When I drag an image (size cr2) DPP automatically, it is transferred to
    screen area.

    How to avoid this?

Import your images into the folder you want first, and then use PLR for access to this folder and from there we can work better. Otherwise, on DPP to start, choose a different folder of office (on the left, you may need to toggle the DISPLAY of RECORDS).

  • OS DPP and Zoombrowser

I want to download DPP and Zoombrowser for a lptop Win7, but neither seems to be available on the Canon website.

    Short story:

Canon 50 d + EOS DPP on Windows XP computer laptop etc-> very happy.

WinXP dies-> replaced by laptop Win7, but the DPP lost drive.

Tried to find the DPP on the Canon Website, but the only thing that appears is 'upgrade', which will not be installed.

After all night search, recovery disk original. Installed on Win7 OK. Very happy again.

A big thank you to all who tried to help.

You're right, it's the focus is not on the list. I think Canon made a kind of determination about what advantage needs a lens of the optimizer and how many lenses are there in use.

For example, while the new kit lenses STM is supported in this way, the EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro is not. Either because it would not really benefit from or there is not a lot of them it to use.

Good lens aberration correction tool many of the same things and works with all identifiable Canon lenses.

Suddenly my Windows XP has become very slow or crashes when working with photos.  I have Canon DPP and Photoshop Elements installed, and in the two following occurs: I can edit a photo without any problem but when I try to work with a second picture the system slows down / freezes.  It unlocks after a minute or two each time.  I tried cleaners registry check disk, Disk Defragmenter, virus, etc. etc. scans and no problems.  All other works very well and this problem started just out of nowhere.  Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

  • Lightroom and Canon DPP 4.5

Perfecting a new workflow for my images. I would like to import my. Raw CR2 files in lightroom unaltered, scroll and cull those I don't want to use the features of bright rooms. I find Lightroom excellent functionality and I am used to it.

So, ideally, I would like to deal with, or have the option of treatment, in DPP rather than Lightroom raw files. I can use lightroom development module rather (will do my own experiences), but as the ability to use both Canon. I would like to make the same way I use photoshop, i.e. "change in" and have put in place for that DPP. Unfortunately, when I try to put in place, I don't get the option to send the raw (.cr2) PPD files. The only options are .jpg, .tiff, etc.. Of course DPP deals only raw files, so I'm stuck.

Once the raw files are processed, I can refine it into Photoshop as you wish.

If I understand now, I can shoot files in lightroom and then must open DPP separately to make my raw editing, then translate the in lightroom to backup the database and end in photoshop, if necessary. I do a lot of panos pictures of sew and this workflow seems to be a pain / redundant.

Someone there suggestions in how to do?

That you have discovered, a workflow using Lightroom and Canon DPP on RAW images won't be good at all. These software are not designed to work with one another (the opposite of LR and Photoshop, which are designed to work together).

So, since you asked for suggestions, my suggestion is not what you want to hear, but nevertheless it is my suggestion: don't do this. Do all the work in LR, or all the work in the DPP, but not a combination of both. You will save a huge amount of time and frustration.

  • Lightroom will never able to match the color/contrast of DPP?

Disclaimer, I am a current user 3.4 and I have been using LR since version 2, it is my goto for 98% of my work.  What I noticed is that it makes enough in some scenes and DPP raw files to high contrast, DPP does a better job together.  I know or assume, Adobe engineers reverse the Canon raw file format and they do a great job at it, but I wonder if there's a reason that adobe does not try specifications of raw file in Canon of license for a perfect match with Canon raw conversion software.  I spend a bit of time to make LR conversions look as good as my Canon jpg open and simply exported to the DPP.  Don't get me wrong, I have no intention to give up the flexibility I have used LR, I was wondering if they will be always perfectly nailing or is there a technique I could have overlooked that get - me much closer to the release of DPP.

Adobe does not reverse engineer something. A Raw file is a Raw file. There is no 'secret sauce' figure in Canon format everything you hear on the interweb.

The various different formats contain propriety information which are ignored by LR, such as adjustments in camera treatment, they have nothing to do with the actual data in the file that LR uses to make the files.

Raw processing tools to render differently, it's a matter of personal opinion, which is the best. If you prefer THAT rendering DPP then use rather than LR. Personally on all Canon files that I use, I can achieve more quickly and better (for me at least) results with LR that DPP, but then I don't use PLR for a few years.

  • Images appearing too saturated in CS5 compared to the DPP?

    Hello world

I like to use Canon DPP to display images, and then CS5 (especially camera raw 6.3) to edit images.  However, the images seem different in the two programs.  In DPP, the images seem normal quote, but in CS5 the Greens in the pictures seem distorted and false.  I have CS3 on my PS and the Greens are also false in CS3.

No idea how to 'fix' these images in CS5, so I can change them effectively?  It is too difficult to do when the Greens are now so unhinged.

I don't know a lot about color and/or management profiles.  If anyone can shed some light on this problem, it would be greatly appreciated!

    See you soon!

    Poppy

If you open raw images in Photoshop's Camera Raw, place you on the Calibration section of the camera and try to choose the Standard camera or faithful camera profile instead of the default value.  I prefer the former for my Canon 40 d.

It is generally possible, with some tweaking settings and starting with one of these profiles for Camera Raw conversions that have the color looks a lot like what the camera software product.  Once achieve you this, you can save the settings by default new Camera Raw, which will be used for any new image, which you open from the same device.

A mistake that many people make is in thinking of software Adobe must produce the same color as their camera maker provided the software performs.  Personally, I think it would be less overall confusion if done Adobe Camera Raw Converter failure to do exactly that - or match very closely--but they simply do not have.

  • Perfect in DPP - scrambled in Photoshop

    Hello

Hoping you can help - tried everything.

I recently took a series of photgraphs (of my pregnant partner) who seems perfect in Canon Digital Photo Professional (pretty smooth complexion). The problem is that when I opened turn pants skin tones in Photoshop (CS4 or CS5). Is not serious if I try to open an CR2 / save in Tiff format of DPP or transfer to Photoshop of DPP - give the same result.

    That I captured a comparison here: http://www.PBase.com/kwebster/help

I uninstalled / reinstalled photoshop (Yes, realize it is radical) tried PS4 and PS5 tried different drivers raw / / made sure color spaces are all set to Adobe RGB - no luck.

When I open them in PS the arrow WARNING sign appears and the histogram looks like the peaks are cut) not the case in DPP).

Apologies - I'm obviously on the evidence. Happy to provide CR2 files to anyone who can help.

    PS

I think that what is happening is that the highlights are be cut (that is, the upper part of the histogram is cut). I'm puzzled as to why its perfect in DPP and not in Photoshop so. Perfect also in Infranview.
