  I just ran a complete system scan of Norton - just 33 rejected of IE (ugh). There is not much I can add have acted a bit hastily just wipe everything - but in my defense, I was always able to fix any FF / nitpicking trouble myself (not afraid to go in the bowels, where this is necessary to change the values healthy from authorized sources) when they took place.   It was due to the update of Windows Installer drivers on top of my existing bluetooth drivers and prevent the unit to work. I had to reinstall Windows to solve this, UN-installing then the installation of the Dell printer drivers did not work.
  I just bought a Freecom 2 to drive that connects via eSATA. Unfortunately, the instructions say that I don't need to install drivers because Windows will do it automatically! Ugh.

  I have a MacBook air (13 inch, mid-2012)
  I had already used a thing of Apple called "bootcamp" to partition the hard drive. Boot camp also allows you to assign which os is used with starting the computer.

  Win 8 has been installed using an iso of Windows 8 and Microsoft Windows 7 USB DVD Tool to create a bootable USB key.
  That all worked. but there is no drivers as one might expect. If the video was VGA and there was no sound, etc.
  I downloaded a zip file containing all the drivers and an installer or install the program from apple.

  I ran the installer and everything was installed and worked. He couldn't believe my luck. I've now had about pain free installed win 8.

  You can not disable the automatic update to a specific device.

  However, you can take control and disable the AutoUpdate for all hardware devices, which is the best option.

Now I have twice as many things and I don't want to copy all my computer and restart it copies any return which will take several days and I need my computer for school. Microsoft also do not ask me for more details on what are my issues with 8.1, because they are extremely useless because you tell me things as clean my computer but that helps forever and you already tried to tell me to clean my computer several times and its just useless.   I googled a lot of answers about stopping the automatic update of firefox. But unable to do it and not be able to use the functionality offered in the context of the browser.   This isn't the automatic update, causing the update - it triggers a manual update when you open Firefox. At least until this was changed in Firefox 37.0

  IMO, when using selenium, you would be better served by using the version of ESR (Extended Support Release) of Firefox. He receives an update of major version of each 8 quick release version updates. You receive security updates without the major version change, and without receiving all of the new features like the release of versions have.   I was running v17, and yesterday it auto-updated to v18 when I opened firefox. As soon as it updated it crashed, pressing 'restart firefox' did nothing, I could only quit. So I found an old install file, went back to v17, checked the option to ask permission before updating, run malwarebytes and spybot, so my PC is clean. This morning, same thing happened - auto update with no warning or permission given. Crashed. Repeatedly, restarted, closed everything else that was running, uninstalled and reinstalled the older stable version. Both times I spent a long time reinstalling add ons and themes. On top of that my goodapp toolbar from goodsearch will no longer be installed by firefox because 'it can't modify the necessary files'. All other add ons work fine, and I was using this toolbar with no issues in v17 only yesterday.
  The second reinstall I clicked the option 'never check for updates'. But tonight, when I opened firefox, it updated without warning to v18 again and I was ready to switch to chrome after a decade of using this browser. There was no Firefox (safe mode) to run from my program files, and since I couldn't open the browser at all before it crashed, all I could do was uninstall and reinstall v17 for the third time in 24 hours and as you can imagine I am not very happy that your so-called stable release is anything but that. I think with the number of people having problems that you should stop work on v20 and actually accept there is a problem with this release instead of trying to blame it on malware.
