  I got 6.5 VMware workstation installed about 3 weeks now and I think my wife think me crazy for buying the license last night due to the fact that he has several features that simply do not work.

  Now I ask anyone with knowledge of this product for shut up here and explain it.  The instructions are not difficult to understand, and no reason I can think to copy and paste them here since the help files.

  I will say this however.  I am running windows XP pro host and Vmware with Linux Red Hat Fedora 10 as the guest OS.  I'll probably install XP on it in a day or two to see how it works.  Long user VPC time here to try VMWARE first at the time I also tried connectix VPC and choose to keep the VPC then as the top program.  It is quite obvious that VMware is the best of both in its current phase, but how in the world can you expect from ourselves to a program that does not work in some critical areas.

  Is anyone else out there there's this version 6.5 installed and if yes can actually use you files shared?  Someone there itstalled with XP and Linux Guest host?

  Any one that can have drag and drop?  Copy and paste work?  Anyone with shared working folders?

  15 + years here making advanced computer repair and management of small groups of private programmers and even if I'm not him the brightest star in the sky, I think that if these features worked I could do it, but they simply do not have.

  In order to get drag / move to work trying to start vmware-user from a console.

  I noticed that vmware - the user does not seem to start on RPM based distributions.  I saw this on Suse 11.1, F10 and Centos 5.2.  It starts automatically on debian (lenny) and kubunto at least here.

  I created a bunch of MCs since a single MC in the library dynamically.

  Inside the timeline of the MC, I wrote drag and drop code.

  The MC is a parent movieclip, then residing in a scrollpane.

  I was wondering if it is possible to write AS3 to drag the clips into an another movieclip?

  If this isn't the case, the way I got it, is it at all possible to drag one MC container to another MC?

  You will need to create a new listener that monitors for MOUSE_MOVE which can constantly check the position of the cursor from whatever you intend to impose limits.  But the real test by you could be a little tricky to manage in terms of use of a hitTestObject approach since you can't test the object moved against its parent (because it in itself defines the limits of the parent).  You can optionally create another object within the parent that you test over hitTestObject using, maybe we you the alpha 0 for value so that you can't see.

  I have disabled protected mode in acrobat reader of the registry key... HKCU\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\Privileged\bProtectedMode REG_DWORD 0

  This works when Acrobat Reader native app is used. When I open a PDF file in the browser (Acrobat Reader Plugin for IE11) then drag / drop do not work. Select, right click copy, destination Application as Word 2013 right click Paste, works.

  We use 11.0.12. Same problem was 11.0.11 too.

  Any ideas?

  Web browser uses only the PDF viewer plugin to view PDF files. It will have the same feature of the player.

  So if you want to use the drag & drop feature, please stick to the player application.

• Drag and drop copy from C: to a USB storage device

  I saved a few songs my cloud storage on my C: drive.  How can I highlight these files and drag / drop in a device of USB storage for future use?

  The flash drive should show in the view of "Computer" (on Windows XP is called 'My Computer') similar to a player.  Just double click on the flash player and then paste the songs.

  DRM - Digital rights management - it prevents moving songs of moved between devices.

• I have problems with gmail with firefox. Refreshing page is slow; Drag and drop files in email sometimes do not work.

  My problem is mainly associated with gmail. When I click on return to the Inbox after reading a mail, it takes a good few seconds while in the past, it was always instant.

  My other problem is drag them / move the files as an attachment in gmail. Sometimes it won't work and I have to use the manual icon attaches trombone. However, if I restart firefox and re - connect to gmail, it will work again.

  I also noticed that when you drag an image in the mail window, it will not become an attachment, but it will appear instead. Is there a way where I can choose to have inserted images as attachments rather than displayed in the mail?

  Thanks for your advice. I'm not sure what will happen if I change my profile. I'm afraid I'll be somebody else for those who know me.

  So I decided to try the second option on the plugin check. After I clicked on the link the message says that my version of firefox is not the last. I've updated it and so far I don't have drag and drop the problem but we will give it some time and see. This problem does not occur all the time but it happened a few times, so I guess I should try it for a while.

  I have a new problem that has arisen in the last week or two. I can no longer drag and drop my files and folders in Windows Explorer. I have Windows 7 on a HP laptop. It is installed on the computer in last December when I bought (09). I've never had a problem with it since then, and I do not know how to find settings to allow drag and drop or re - activate. I know that I've done before on this machine, several times - and just noticed first in Thunderbird, (my e-mail desktop application), then in Solution Explorer. I recently installed the SP1 (spelling?) a few weeks ago and have installed a few other programs of odds and ends, but I'm sure that drag and drop was working fine until a few days ago.

  Any help would be appreciated. As a writer of genealogy is a must have feature.

  This happened to me yesterday.

  In Windows Explorer, click a file with the left mouse button and hold down the key. Then press the ESC key. Drag-and - déposer is miraculously revived.

  I can't be bothered reading all to see if this has been mentioned.  The fix for the escape has worked for me with Win 7.  The only thing I have that is unique with respect to colleagues is a wireless keyboard and mouse.  I hope that this has something to do with my problem.

  All drag-and-drop features stopped working on my 21 FF.

  In other words, I can not:
  -Drag items from bookmarks or rearrange bookmarks
  -Words slip from the search box or links to the URL box
  -Change the order of tabs
  -Rearrange items on toolbars
  -Move the text in text boxes
  -etc.

  Safe mode has the same problems.

  Please notify.

  Note that when it stopped working exactly but all drag and drop functionality work more... images, URLS, tabs... you name it. I was on 16 FF and upgraded to 16.0.2 without help. SafeMode... same behavior. Disable each add-on single and plugin... same thing again. using the default theme.

  What's left to try?

  I am running Windows XP SP3.

  A complete remission to zero of the system got things working again for me. Not ideal, but I'll take it for now.

  I have a TileList component with the following characteristics:
  dragEnabled = true, selectable = false, custom itemRenderer = myItemRenderer, correctly renders them "rolls over" correctly
  
  myItemRenderer extends canvas and contains information (XML) that define its characteristics.
  
  And I have a canvas that I let fall custom items in which product of other items based on the XML data into the object fell.
  
  Problem:
  
  In normal times the drag and drop procedure works perfectly: I can drag on an element of the TileList the canvas and it will produce a "copy" of the item dragged. Although if I scroll the TileList upwards or downwards and then drag an item in the Web article on the canvas is the element to position non - scrolling the TileList (as if I didn't have to scroll at all). To clarify, the item has fallen into the canvas is the item in good visible position in the scroll position zero (0). The drag proxy displayed is the correct item - more befuddling the situation.

  I would like to be able to drag an object of my TileList in the canvas area and have the correct item fall despite the scroll position.

• FlashBuilder - how to move the code with drag and drop

  Guys, I must be stupid. Each IDE I worked in allows me to highlight one or more lines of code, and then, when I mouse over the highlighted lines, updates of the cursor to indicate that I can now drag the code, and it moves when I click and drag.

  FlashBuilder (burrito) does not seem to exhibit this feature, but if I hold down the CTRL I do not copy the code via drag and drop.

  There has been one or two occasions where the drag-and - déposer worked, but I can't understand, or reproduce these conditions.

  It should work in Flash Builder, but you are right, that feedback cursor is not very good because it is not updated to show that any sort of slider. Try selecting the text, then click and hold for about a second before you drag it to a new location. If it still does not work for you it must be another problem. Make sure that in preferences, general-> editors-> text editors "Enable drag and drop of text" is turned on.

  I added the Infosemantics Drag and Drop Interactive widget to my project, but it works only after the publication by a computer and not on an iPad.  I've published using SWF and HTML5, so it "should" work. The HTML Tracker for this slide does not list the blades not taken in charge or objects.  If this widget is not compatible with the iPad, is the new drag and drop feature Captivate available for subscription customers and ASA work on an iPad?  If so, is there a student for ASA or a subscription fee?   No, the widget drag / move does not work on your iPad.  No Infosemantics widget is compatible with HTML5 output at this time.  Forgot to widgets, HTML5 Tracker be not necessarily compatible, so it is not a good guide in this instance.

  Captivate 6.1 drag and drop feature works (somehow) in HTML5.  I suggest that you go down that road.
