  I'm running AE CS5.5 on Win7 XP Pro x 64.

  In order to save presets custom optical eruptions, I changed my AE "Run as Administrator" shortcut.

  Now when I run AE, I get asked "Run as Administrator" and I can't drag and drop to import images from Win Explorer.

  To avoid this, I went back to the shortcut and unchecked "Run as Administrator", but I always get prompt and manage to drag/import files.

  Anyone know the fix?

  Probably a problem with file associations and / or advanced the settings of UAC. You can exclude some AE of the UAC and see if that makes a difference...

• All drag and drop functionality stopped working in Firefox 16 / Firefox 16.0.2

  Note that when it stopped working exactly but all drag and drop functionality work more... images, URLS, tabs... you name it. I was on 16 FF and upgraded to 16.0.2 without help. SafeMode... same behavior. Disable each add-on single and plugin... same thing again. using the default theme.

  What's left to try?

  I am running Windows XP SP3.

  A complete remission to zero of the system got things working again for me. Not ideal, but I'll take it for now.

  I use Dreamweaver CC 2015.3 and try to use the Image Map option. I'm not using it in Liveveiw so there must be another problem.

  I have inserted a picture and give MapId image2. After that, I tried to drag and drop all three circle, polygon, and rectangle. Nothing happened.

  No map tag is packed. Nothing happens. What is the reason?

• I have a brand new installation of 13 PS elements. How I have difficulty drag and drop doesn't work is not on my system Windows 7 Pro 64-bit?

  I just installed PS 13 items on my system Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Mouse clicking works, but how I have difficulty drag and drop works do not?   All the functions of the mouse to 13 PS elements worked well if I started my Windows 7 in "safe" mode
  So, back in 'normal' mode, I manually disabled all startup programs. Returned mouse problem.
  Enter the control panel "services", I disabled 'Synergy' (a program that allows me to share my keyboard and mouse between two computers). Fixed a problem.
  The reactivation of all the startup programs while leaving a synergy service is turned off, everything works still fine.
  Start all programs present and re-empowerment synergy, but turned off its 'high privilege check box. Everything is still fine.

  Conclusion: Synergy in high privilege mode service was the only culprit.
  Synergy in non high mode allows my PS 13 items and keyboard/mouse sharing to coexist.

  The strange thing is that only PS elements 13 was affected by synergy. I detect no problems anywhere else. But it doesn't matter; the new arrangement (no high synergy) works fine for everything.

  But when I'm clicking on a butterfly my cursor stops to move and stay on the throttle position, that I'm dragging. After a fall, there is no cursor at all so we don't know where the mouse is currently located.

• Help with Drag and Drop text

  I am trying to create a series of text objects that I can drag and drop on the screen. I'm trying to text fields in a movieClip container from the Drag and Drop will not work on text fields. When I do that, Flash still sees the objects as fields of text rather than the video clips, and I get the following error.

  Use currentTarget instead of the target.

• ALT + tab no longer works with drag-and-drop

  I bought a new computer Samsung with Windows 8, two weeks ago. On my old computer, I could choose a file in a folder, then alt - tab to another folder and then drop the selected file. Now, every time I select a file and use alt - tab, the file automatically becomes deselected.

  This never happened to me in my previous versions of Windows.

  To be clear: my keyboard and touch pad working perfectly fine. It is a problem of Windows when you use drag-and - drop jointly with alt - tab.

  WHEN I DRAG AND DROP A FILE INTO THE FOLDER TO MOVE AROUND I NO LONGER GET THE GRID OF CLARET BAR "BLACK." THE FILE AROUND EMERGES IN THE FOLDER, YOU CAN MOVE ANYWHERE, IT WILL OVERLAP OTHER ICONS FILE.

  IT HAD WORKED, IT SEEMS THAT I MIGHT MOVE ONE FILE ON THE WINDOWS OF THE SCREEN AT A GIVEN TIME, PERHAPS THIS CORRUPTED SOMETHING.

  IN ANY CASE, CREATED A NEW FOLDER, COPIED THE OLD FILES FOLDER, IT WORKS VERY WELL.

  WHEN TO USE THE OLD NAME OF FILE, SAME PROBLEM, NO 'BLACK' DRAG-AND-DROP POSITIONING GRID BAR.

  THE FORMER NAME OF FOLDER SHOULD BE SOMEWHERE AND IT IS CORRUPT.

  I NOTICED THAT THE SREEN GTA CLICK WINDOW ARRANGE ICONS AUTO ARRANGE AND ALIGN WITH THE GRID OPTIONS ARE CHECKED, THE FILES DO NOT HAVE THESE OPTIONS.

  MAYBE THERE IS A COMMAND TO CHANGE REGISTRY RUN WHERE I CAN FIX SOMETHING.

  This is probably because you have disabled somehow "Auto arrange" for this folder.

  Open the folder where you had problems, and then click the drop-down display. You will see options for how you want to see the contents of the folder. If you selected thumbnails, tiles or icons, there is another option under the terms of "rearrange icons by" called "auto arrange". This is a toggle switch, repeated clicks turn the lights-off etc.

  BTW, the use of 'all capitals' type is not considered by some as the right label and discourage some people to respond. So, if you want to maximize your chances of a reply in the future, type like I did, or even entirely in lowercase.

• Drag and Drop works is not in Windows 7

  I have a new problem that has arisen in the last week or two. I can no longer drag and drop my files and folders in Windows Explorer. I have Windows 7 on a HP laptop. It is installed on the computer in last December when I bought (09). I've never had a problem with it since then, and I do not know how to find settings to allow drag and drop or re - activate. I know that I've done before on this machine, several times - and just noticed first in Thunderbird, (my e-mail desktop application), then in Solution Explorer. I recently installed the SP1 (spelling?) a few weeks ago and have installed a few other programs of odds and ends, but I'm sure that drag and drop was working fine until a few days ago.

  Any help would be appreciated. As a writer of genealogy is a must have feature.

  This happened to me yesterday.

  In Windows Explorer, click a file with the left mouse button and hold down the key. Then press the ESC key. Drag-and - déposer is miraculously revived.

  I can't be bothered reading all to see if this has been mentioned.  The fix for the escape has worked for me with Win 7.  The only thing I have that is unique with respect to colleagues is a wireless keyboard and mouse.  I hope that this has something to do with my problem.

• Sharing folders, drag and drop, copy and paste that NONE works!

  I got 6.5 VMware workstation installed about 3 weeks now and I think my wife think me crazy for buying the license last night due to the fact that he has several features that simply do not work.

  Now I ask anyone with knowledge of this product for shut up here and explain it.  The instructions are not difficult to understand, and no reason I can think to copy and paste them here since the help files.

  I will say this however.  I am running windows XP pro host and Vmware with Linux Red Hat Fedora 10 as the guest OS.  I'll probably install XP on it in a day or two to see how it works.  Long user VPC time here to try VMWARE first at the time I also tried connectix VPC and choose to keep the VPC then as the top program.  It is quite obvious that VMware is the best of both in its current phase, but how in the world can you expect from ourselves to a program that does not work in some critical areas.

  Is anyone else out there there's this version 6.5 installed and if yes can actually use you files shared?  Someone there itstalled with XP and Linux Guest host?

  Any one that can have drag and drop?  Copy and paste work?  Anyone with shared working folders?

  Anyone?

  15 + years here making advanced computer repair and management of small groups of private programmers and even if I'm not him the brightest star in the sky, I think that if these features worked I could do it, but they simply do not have.

  In order to get drag / move to work trying to start vmware-user from a console.

  I noticed that vmware - the user does not seem to start on RPM based distributions.  I saw this on Suse 11.1, F10 and Centos 5.2.  It starts automatically on debian (lenny) and kubunto at least here.
