Dreamweaver to SFBC (FTP and other gripes)

I 'get' the potential benefits of moving to the Dreamweaver CFB. I watched all the videos and read the manual, and I love the integration with Flex.

BUT

It seems that very little attention was put into the FTP and synchronization tools...

Ideally:

I want to set the FTP address for each project destination (at the moment even if he asks me from the subdirectory, it shows me the root of higher level and I have to go down every time to the destination I want to download)

I don't want to see or have capacity on my default edit remote files.

Accidents happen and I would have preferred that the bitterness locally.

Once again a real pain!

All the world is these problems - or worked out how to get around them?

R8_UK, I hear your concerns, and they are quite common. I hope I can answer

(and solve) some of them here for you.

First of all, I use the FTP feature all the time and he never makes the IDE

"sleep". You can enable the display of progress (window > show)

    I've been using DW9 for a few years now.  And this week suddenly encountered errors that I couldn't explain.

    I was updating a library file.  When I chose to update all the files using the library file, DW started running through a folder and update of files I have never seen before (configuration/commands).

    I stopped the process almost immediately, but I think that the damage was done.

    Now wheneven I open a file, save a file, paste the code, try to use my SPry menu or almost no matter what else, I get an error.

    I have to click OK twice before the error disappears, and then usually DW what it is supposed to.

    Except with my SPry stuff.  They just don't do anything.

    EXAMPLE: -.

    When I paste the code, I get an error like this...

    "While executing onLoad in PasteFireworksHTML.htm, a JavaScript error occurred."

    When I opened one of my HTML or PHP files, I get...

    "While executing onLoad in design Notes_onLoad.htm, a JavaScript error occurred."

    There are many more like these.

    I opened some of these files in Notepad to see if I can see what is causing errors, but I don't see anything.  The files show also that they have been published and still show the original update of 2007.

    I can't work like this.

    Is there a solution?

  • FTP and Site Local file, simple question.

    I'm extremely new to FTP and downloading sites, etc., but to learn.

    I have two questions and they are probably both pretty stupid, but here they are:

    1. When you download your site you:

    Download the entire site (local site folder)?

    or you simply upload the pages that are going to be online?

    or is this your personal preferences and does not really matter?

    2. If you have downloaded the entire site there is something wrong with the fact that (security issues, etc.).

    Additional info: I have just a site that no one else is working on or has need access too except me. Passing by JustHost.

    When you upload your site you must download all files that are part of this site and relate to one another.  This includes images, pages, style sheets, and no script file, you have.  The first time around it will probably be the entire site.  After that you need to download that you edit the files.

    If you want to avoid downloading some files, you can hide them.

    If you use Dreamweaver synchronization utility it will give you options to transfer files among other things

    So that, it is best to set your site as a first step

    Your host will tell you your FTP settings and the directory to download.  Your index file (homepage) go and the all elsevshould follow the same structure as in your local site folder

  • Fan control with 5750G and other machines problems

    Lets start with stating that the 5750 G (and other models with same design cases) has lots of GPU and overheating problems:

    This problem is happing on computers between 12 and 20 old frames. Although the user

    • Use the BIOS more recent (1.21 for my 5750G).

    Anyone who decides to install this tool, please take note once more:

    • Acer does not support this tool on systems from laptops Aspire 5750 G / 5755G.

    • Acer does not support this tool on Acer OEM Software (your laptop comes with Windows 7 installation).

    • Users with other portable model should not use this tool. This will be entirely at your own risk.

    • Other OS can run this tool, but Acer does not test or review it. Acer is not responsible for any bad consequences when using the tool in that mentioned other environments.

    Simple answer No, Muse is not compatible.

    The cms you mention (and most other cms) use so-called "themes" to create the layout, these are performed using html and css and are not yet compatible with a page html/css created in Dreamweaver, (if you can create the theme in DW).

    In General, use the document type that corresponds to your coding skills & documenting requirements.

    Example:

    If you are still using obsolete tags and the provisions of base tables, then a HTML 4.0 (transitional) is recommended.

    If you use no deprecated tags, then (strict) 4.1 HTML or XHTML is recommended.

    NOTE: The HTML5 tags are not supported in the last generation or pre - IE9 browsers.

    FWIW, I always use XHTML document for the majority of my work types.

    I recently downloaded Windows 10 and noticed FF goes really slowly. So in some way I have refreshed it. I knew that this would erase some bits of data, but now I am unable to restore things.

    It looks like an earlier version. When I go to any page FF, everything appears in a list. I can't choose a new theme, for example, b/c the Mozilla page cannot display graphics. In addition, I'm typing this in Chrome b/c there is no text box when I open this page in FF. I don't want to go back to Chrome.

    Deleted ALL cookies (I do it every night together with cache, but only for the last day or four hours, depending). I also had to play around with Ghost (allow facebook, twitter, yahoo analytics) and  Disconnect (disable on yahoo.com) extensions.  That seems to have done the trick.

    Regarding the SSL protocol, sometimes I get the warnings you mentioned. They do not make sense, because the sites are pretty reliable (banks and others). I try again a couple of times on google chrome too and everything is OK.

    Your observations are accurate. The 'suggestions' are previous entries in the same column that correspond to what has been entered so far in the active cell. The only direct user control is to activate the function turn on or off in numbers preferences > general.

    There are other ways to include or exclude items of suggestions:

    • To remove typos in the suggestions list, the user must correct the typos in the cell above the active cell. If they are more in the list, they won't be presented as suggestions.
    • To include selections added to the list, the user must enter these suggestions in the individual cells above the active cell and column where they are wanted as suggestions.

    There was a request here a while there is a list of suggestion 'live' similar to those of some websites, which offers a descending list of possible entries as a type in an input box.

    The only way I see to reach a solution similar to what you have asked is to use as many lines at the top of the non-en-tete of the table section to list the items likely to repeat in your table, and then hide the lines. You'll need a list for each column where you want to use this feature with a list previously planted. Existing items will then require a likely hit up to three, then a click to choose from a list small enough to enter a value into a cell.
