Drive DVD keeps opening by itself

Hello

Since I bought my Dell computer in December drive keeps opening by itself regardless of whether or not there is a CD inside. As soon as I turn on the computer, it opens and opens again whenever I close. I checked properties which asserts that its correct operation and verification of diagnosis stated that all software is very good. Everyone knows about this problem? As I said this happened since I bought the computer and has become more common to the point that it is no longer remains closed unless the computer is off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

There is a disconcerting fix that might work as it did for me. After having done a fairly extensive research going to recharge the device driver, to play with printed circuit boards and connections, I came across a post to discuss how tricky the mechanism and the sensor is to determine if it is closed or not.

It turns out that the way a lot of people shut the drawer (which they shouldn't) by pressing on it, it can move one or two toothed wheels out of the correct position so shake the sensor opening and closing.

By slightly pulling the drawer open while pushing the close button, you can pull the drawer toward the setting appropriate for the sensor and hopefully solve the problem.

It worked for me, after spending months in the open position with no way to hold it closed.

And for those who want to keep these things work correctly, just a little patient pe and use the open close button. Shoving in this regard is not a good idea.

The device driver can say Arcsoft because it may have provided to Microsoft by them.
In Device Manager, open the Properties window for the drive, and then click the driver tab, then update driver...  Click the search selection automatically. If it finds a driver, let it install.

If the drive still cycles, then you can have a bad drive. If it is still under warranty, contact the place of repair for repair or replacement.

    Hello

1 during how long have you had the problem?
    2. don't you make changes before the problem?

This problem may occur if one of the following scenarios is true:

    • Drivers filter in the CD and the DVD storage stack are not migrated successfully to Windows Vista.
    • You have uninstalled the CD software that fails to withdraw properly in the registry.
    • You have installed software that adds filter drivers in the CD and the storage stack of DVDs that interfere with existing filters.

  • Windows Media Player keeps opening by itself. Whenever I close it, it opens upward again.

Also, when it is open, it keeps dominant control of pc by making the application active every few seconds.  If I go into another window it comes down soon to WMP as the active application.

This is a new computer.  He did not at first, but began to arrive a few days after installing iTunes.  I realized that I was still running SP1 of Vista so I downloaded and installed SP2.  He ran for awhile ok then after a few hours of running WMP began to open again.

Sometimes he begins to start and sometimes it starts after the computer is running.  The last time he started to happen, I was in the middle of another windows update software and was not actively working on the computer.  Just run the update.

It won't let me be disable it with the Task Manager.  As soon as I stop the application it opens right away again.

I searched my card documents and settings of virus with the latest free version of AVG and it is came with a Trojan infection and moved to the vault. This solves the popping up of WMP: D!

In addition, the Trojan horse was named "Agent2.BMMK Trojan horse"
See you soon and I hope this has been useful to some ^^
EDIT: I have the Lycosa keyboard also but have never had a problem with WMP pop-ups until today. Could be the keyboard, but there still everything went well after the removal of the Trojan horse.
  • CD drive keeps opening and closing by itself

My CD tray keeps opening and closing by itself. In addition, I can't open it in the button, I need to go from my and eject it.

I checked the bios and everythings fine; even updated.

    I removed the front panel

I scanned with MalwareBytes malware; A large number of files but no associated with cd player

    I went once cd players

I pulled the canned air into the lens

That's all I did, to no avail.

I came to the conclusion that it is a virus, because it is not that when starting and I can push the button to open it, even in safe mode.

Although no antivirus can find it, and I can't find anything winscript/wscript in the Task Manager.

    Help, please.

    Thanks for the reply.

    1. the model is Packard Bell imedia S3840

    2. No, apart from the installation of the Sims 3, if you count that.

    3. I want to say that the problem still persists in Mode without failure.

Method 1: Did, did not work.

Method 2: Still did not work; I remember doing a couple of weeks ago, when he started.

Method 3: I've updated a long time ago already (like I said: "updated")

Thanks for the reply, but I've already fixed:

The button to eject the disc has been blocked; and I had to go out for a minute and then put it in.

    Thank you!

  • Satellite L350 - CD/DVD drive does not open

I have a new laptop, less than a month, but his habit of CD/DVD tray open by pressing eject button. Eject-do a right-click on its icon does not open it no more.

There is no disc inside, it is visible in the BIOS, no sign of a driver problem in Device Manager. I tried reinstalling the driver, but that didn't help.

Any solution for this problem would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi inecro,

If the CD/DVD drive doesn t open more I think that you can do anything in this case.

I can only confirm what writes Akuma. You need to replace the CD/DVD drive and you get a new from an authorized service provider. If your laptop is under warranty you can get a new one for free.

I had the same problem a few months ago. EPA has replaced the CD/DVD drive in a few days and I come back my laptop. Very fast service and the technicians are friendly. :)

  • Satellite L500-126-CD/DVD drive does not open very well unrolled

    Hello

I just got my second Satellite L500-126.
I traded my first for a new because the ESCAPE key got stuck sometimes and made a grinding sound.

Now, with my new one, I noticed that my dvd drive does not open very well unrolled and 2 bars of silver metal bit come out with the car when I open it.
    Is this normal?

Also, when I close the dvd player, I hear a little noise "ping!"
Like a spring, or something. Is that also normal?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 2 small bars of silver, but the reader of my laptop s contains two metals (runners, railway).
This is normal and these pieces are important to ensure that the drive can eject properly and could remain in a good position.
Still, you will hear a short click Open and close the drive.

    So I guess it's ok.

    Hello

    · What is the number and the model of the computer?

  • Help, please. My CD/DVD drive won't open unless I use a needle and even when he's not reading anything.

As I have said on the subject my CD/DVD drive does not open and it will not read. My computer sees the problem but has no solutions. That I am, I expected to do?

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.
