Drive external Recycle Bin

SP2 Vista Basic.

I deleted something my USB external HDD, but the element does not appear in the office trash. The Explorer does not display a basket for my external hard drive. How can I access the basket for my external hard drive?

James

It has a basket, but by default it is hidden.  Go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / view and click on show hidden files, and then click OK.  Then you should be able to see the Recycle Bin and its contents to restore access or empty or another.  http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/237802-45-recycle-external-hard-drive.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

  • $recycle.bin files on external drive

When McAfee scanning my WD external drive, it takes hours and hours as it analyzes the many files called $recycle.bin. I mean hours and hours.  I cannot find these files on my external hard drive, nor indeed on my computer either.  Is there a way to find and delete the 'old'?  Thank you.

They are hidden and system files.  Go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / view and check the box to show the hidden files and folders, check the box to show system files and uncheck to hide extension for known file types.  Click OK and close.  Go back to your external drive, and you should now be able to view the files.  I have one on my system at the root of the C: drive as the first entry.  I do not understand why you have so much of.  I'm not sure about the consequences of the removal of the old (do NOT delete all) - I've never seen a case where there were many.  I suggest that you create a system restore point before you do any delete or rename.  I would also first try to rename Recycle1.old or something like that first and then see if everything works (especially your Recycle Bin and deleting files).  If after a few days, everything seems to work fine, so go ahead and delete the renamed files and it should go.

    I hope this helps.

  • 3 recycle Bin folders on external HARD drive

Why doesn't the $RECYCLE. BIN on my external HARD drive show different files when I run Windows 8 and Windows 7?
I guess that both present the same content, but they do not.

    James

It is a normal behavior. It is doubtful, you will get an answer as to why.
To answer your question, no, if you disable the Recycle Bin, the files will be deleted immediately on this drive.

  • Recycle bin stores files deleted to the E: drive and E: drive not no projection in recycle bin properties

Recycle bin stores files deleted to the E: drive and E: drive not no projection in recycle bin properties when I right click on properties of recycle bin

    Hi pushprajchauhan,

    E: drive an external drive?

If the E: drive is an external hard drive, it will not appear in the Recycle Bin properties.

If you delete all the files from the external hard drive, it won't be in the trash. The files will be get permanently deleted from the external drive.

    Hope the helps of information.

    Hello

Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

    1. to reinstall Vista from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.

F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.

You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.

    2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.

Also ask them how to make records.

Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..

There are backups on an external hard drive.

To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

    See you soon.

Original title: after having rid SCA from my PC I hade an error message in the function recycle something w / drive c. I clicked on OK and nothing of what is removed now appears in the Recycle Bin. This can be corrected?

I'll have to check your other thread, but,.

    1. a single antivirus can be installed and running in real-time

    2. you can run malware and spyware like on DEMAND scanners only

    3. If you install MSE, all previous installed antivirus must be completely removed before installing mse

    4. Please read this checklist:

  • How to see the files in the Recycle Bin on the 2nd hard drive

I have a second hard drive on my computer (Win7 Pro) which was an old boot drive.  My antivirus tells me that there is a Trojan horse on one of the files in the Recycle Bin on the 2nd disc.  I can't find or see the trash of the E: drive, so I can't delete the contents of this basket.  How can I find the Recycle Bin is not on the primary drive?

Same basket or on your desktop.  Just right-click and empty.  Or right-click and choose Properties to see which drive (s) it's for.

default size is 5% of your disk space I think.

It depends on how to use it.

  • After reducing the size of recycle bin free space does not appear in the C drive

In recycle bin maximum size of drive C was 16840. I reduced to 10000. Free space in C drive has not increased when I checked. I defragmented the drive and restarted the computer, the specified free space is still as before.

The recycling bin size is the maximum allowed, which will be its size when it is full.

If you don't have something in it, it has no effect on the free space.

  • Can Recycle Bin on desktop shortcut

I would like to put a shortcut to the Recycle Bin on my desktop, so I can drag files to the trash. I know there is one on the dock

but it would be easier on the desk for me. How can I do?

Choose go to folder from the Finder Go menu, provide ~ /. Trash like path, click on the small icon at the top of the window, and then press the Option and command keys while dragging to the desktop. This will not work for items on external drives, the disk images or additional partitions.

    Hello

-Did you check the exact location of the files saved on your computer?

You can try to search for files on the external hard drive again by unhinding 'hidden' files to find files in the exact saved location of the files or folders that they recorded earlier, before the Malware scan and check if that helps.

If it does not solve the problem, I suggest you use your favorite search engine to find any third-party data recovery software that can help you restore all of the lost images.
Warning: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. • Recycle Bin exceeds the maximum size setting

The customized to my recycle bin maximum size is currently set to 10240 MB (10 GB) for one of my external hard drives, but the current of my recycle bin for this drive size is almost 42 GB, well above what the max is supposed to be.  It seems that around July 17, old files stopped aging whenever new have been removed and moved to the trash.

I used the same setting to maximum size for my drive hard internal and other disk hard extermal, but I don't think it would affect the size of the basket to the other player, I assumed that they were independent.  Just to be safe, I reduced the max size for the other two discs to 5120 MB, but it changed nothing.

No idea why my trash is not automatically aging old files more?  Thank you.
