Driver for HP LaserJet 5

My HP LaserJet 5 does not print after it was connected to a desktop computer new window 7 family (64-bit); I tried to download a new driver from HP without a bit of luck.

You can use the HP driver that is available on the Windows Update site for this unit.  Get connected to the internet and run add driver

Add printui/s/T2, x 64, Windows Update, select the LJ 5 (there is a version PCL and PS driver, then choose the personality supported).  Once you have the driver installed, plug the printer into the machine.  If you use a parallel port, you may need to reboot for plug-and-play kick to the parallel wire.  If you have a cable conversion USB make sure you have the latest drivers from the manufacturing of cable

  • Win 7 64 bit driver for HP LaserJet 1022

Cannot find a driver for HP LaserJet 1022 (not connected to the network, directly connected) printer.  The one on the HP site does not work.  It is a facility of Win7 64 bit perfectly up-to-date.

Thank you very much for any help you can give!

Here is one that I created a document (see table) which has 3 different installation methods. These install methods have been tested several times on several different system and all have worked with success, both in printing the pages, in the printing of the word and test environments 32 and 64 bit.

Several people have reported that the 3A install method worked successfully for them.

If you have downloaded previous drivers and you want to clean your system, you need to remove anything with LJ1020 or LJ 1022 associated with it. This means remove all the drivers and all records of HP store. You will need to look into your print server properties (at the top of your device manager, make sure you have at least one driver with a green checkmark on this subject and it is not the LJ1022 you can see the print server properties) and remove the pilot and the package from here. So as to remove records of your C: LJ1022 / / Program files and your trash. Make sure your reset your computer BEFORE try you to reinstall anything. You may need to make some time before everything is off your system.

  • Windows 7 driver for HP Laserjet 1012

Where can I find a printer driver for HP Laserjet 1012 that is compatible with Windows 7?

I saw several people to use Windows 7 Laserjet 1015 drivers for the LJ 1012. Try this:

    Start/devices and printers.

    -Choose Add a printer.

-Choose Windows update at the bottom of the window of the printer driver to install because the HP Laserjet 1015 is not on the list of HP printers. But after the update it is "HP Laserjet 1015.

-Choose the generic IEEE 1284.4 as the printer port

Here's how a document: HP LaserJet, Color LaserJet and AiO/MFP of LaserJet products – install the driver included with the Windows 7 operating system

  • Printer driver for HP LaserJet 4 L with Windows 7

I can't find the driver for my LaserJet 4 L printer in Windows 7.  I have a parallel to USB conversion cable connected to my computer.   I need the drivers.

    Thank you.

My system 8.1 Pro 64-bit Windows has a driver for this printer model:

I don't know if the driver is present on a new installation of Windows; It can only have appeared in the list after the Windows Update button has been clicked on the dialog Add printers above, then wait (possibly several minutes) while additional drivers have been downloaded and the list filled again.

I suppose the same could be true for older versions of Windows as well.

    Hey @yechiel-adar,.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that your color HP LaserJet Pro 100 M175a multifunction fails to install on your computer Windows 8.1 as the computer recognizes your printer as a CD drive and the installation fails at 83%. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. To be honest, it sounds like there is a conflict between your computer and the HP Smart Install feature. Smart Install is a feature that has been programmed into the new models of Laserjet. It allows you to simply plug a USB cable and the installation files will load on your computer for you for faster and easier installation. However, on some computers systems rather find recognizing printers printers rather than software CDs. In this case, the installation never ends with success that your computer never actually detects the Laserjet Printer. That being said, I'll guide you through a few steps below to resolve this issue.

Please, disconnect the USB cable from your computer before you continue.

    Step 1: Disable Smart Install:

    1. On the front panel of your printer, select the button Setup (key)
    2. Right arrow to the Service menu , and then select OK
    3. Right arrow key for Smart Install and select OK
    4. Please turn OFF Smart Install

Once Smart Install turned offshore, please proceed to the next step.

    Step 2: Uninstall the drivers:

For the purposes of troubleshooting, it is crucial that we have a clean slate to work with. Even if your ever successful installation there is a chance that a part of the software package and the pilot has made its way on your computer. To ensure that there are no problems when reinstall us your printer, I'll first you remove all traces of your printer from your computer.

    2. On the start screen, type programs and features. Click on programs and features to run
    3. In the window programs and features will populate a list of the programs installed on your computer. Please scroll down and look for your HP Laserjet. If you see the Laserjet listed please select it and choose Uninstall
    4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation. Once the uninstall is complete, please close programs and features and continue to the next step.

Step 3: Delete the temporary files:

    1. Open your screen to Start by selecting the Windows icon at the bottom left of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl key
    2. On the start screen please type run. Click on Run to launch the run dialogue box.
    3. In the run box, type %temp% , and then click OK
    4. When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will highlight now.
    5. Select the "delete" button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains the temporary internet files. None of the actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting Temp files. A Temp file should you will automatically get the pop up to 'jump' this point.
    6. Close the Temp folder when it is empty
    7. R ight, click on the recycling bin on your desktop and select empty recycling bin

  • Pavilion a1400n: Windows XP driver for a LaserJet 1200 printer attached to a Windows 7 computer

Where can I find the driver Windows XP on a 32-bit PC wants to be able to add a printer connected to a PC running Windows 7 64 bit which are on my home network?

I worked through the process of adding a printer to my Windows XP machine that I can get to the point in the Add Printer Wizard after the navigation of the printer and choose what I click Next and the response that I actually want add the printer that is on the Windows 7 PC. I am then presented with a dialog box indicating that the INF file is necessary. I downloaded the drivers that are on http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=58928 & swLangOid = 8 & swEnvOid = 4063 and tried each of them pointing to the directory where they are each. When I do that I said that "Windows cannot locate a suitable driver. Contact your administrator for help to locate and install a correct driver.

Where can I find the suitable driver for PC Windows XP print to a printer connected to a Windows 7 PC on my network?

I found a solution to this problem, but this isn't the ability to print a document from my XP computer to a shared printer connected to my Windows 7 computer. The solution I implemented was to connect my XP computer to the printer via a parallel cable. I went with this approach for two reasons.

First of all, I realized that none of the drivers for this printer are available for Windows 7 64-bit allow me to print a document double sided or in a brochure (print booklet of course depends on the ability to print double-sided) from my Windows 7 computer. The dirver for this printer on my XP (32 bit) provides these capabilities. The 64-bit Windows 7 driver that Microsoft provides through Windows Update appears to support these capabilities, but when these options are selected, that the document prints single sided. Windows 7 64-bit universal printer driver for this printer that is available on the HP site is not yet expected to provide these features. It's as if HP abandoned for most of this printer. I understand that this is an old printer, but what I find amazing, it is that he was not so old a printer when Windows 7 64-bit was new, so why can't HP provide the latest version of the driver that could perform these functions? (Of course I can just be assuming that at some point it might). Surely it cannot take up that much space on their server. The other question is why the universal printer driver for Windows 7 64 bit cannot provide these capabilities? XP driver 32 bit I have, which is also a universal printer driver that I downloaded several years ago on the HP site, provides the capability. I have tried downloading a version of XP 32 - most recent bit of the driver to see if it was stripped of these capabilities.

Second, I chose to use the parallel connection because my XP computer has a parallel port, I already had a parallel cable which was not used, and doing so allows me to have the printer connected permanently on both computers. Tempting to connect two computers using a cable USB would require to manually switch the USB of a computer connection to the other whenever I tried to print from the computer that was not connected.

  • Driver for HP LaserJet 3050 with Windows XP Professional 64-bit

Does anyone know what driver I can use to install the HP Laserjet 3050 which is located on a network? I have Windows 64 HP.

It is a known and very easy problem for you to solve.  On the computer to which the printer is connected, go to the properties of the computer and note the name of the computer.  Now, go to the printer properties and note the name of the shared printer sharing.  Now on the xp machine go to printers and faxes and click on add printer, then local printer, next and click on create a new port and in the dropdown choose the port and in the box that appears, type the name of the local computer and share the name of the computer to which the printer is connected using the following syntax : \\computername\sharename where you replace your real names.  Click ok and then next and when you get to the page of decision-makers choose hp on the left, then choose any listed laserjet pcl5 driver (Laserjet 2200 works fine) and then following and you can rename it to LJ3050 and end up and you should be able to print now from the xp computer.  To get the computer name of the machine windows 7, right click on computer and scroll down to properties and left-click.  As for the share name go to devices and printers and right click on the icon of 3050 and scroll the properties first and left click and then click on share and the share name will be there.
