I need to update optiac dvd rw driver on my laptop. I am running windows 7 32-bit sp1.

Hey people.
Recently installed WXP Pro on my laptop A200 PSAEC, so I'm now in dual boot XP and Vista on my laptop.
Problem is that I have all the drivers doesn't work on XP and everything works perfectly, but when I tried to burn a DVD, Nero said the recorder cannot burn DVDs. In 'My Computer', the drive shows up as a DVD - RW drive, but when I insert a blank DVD, it says CD drive. The drive shows up as "TCSDcor" CD/DVGW TC - L6 #2D "" in Device Manager. I searched a driver, but it is impossible to find an exact match for this drive and there is no driver optical drive on this section of driver from the Toshiba site. The only thing I found is an executable file of the firmware upgrade, but it throws an error saying that it is the wrong drive.
Anyone got any ideas?

You don't need a new driver for CD/DVD drive because it s a part of the operating system. So, you won't find one.
I think you should try to remove the upper and lower filters in the registry. I did the same thing a few days ago, if I also had problems with my CD/DVD player and it worked for me! :)

If you do a search on Google you will find a lot of results on this error message and in general it s associated with the middle of the installation (DVD itself).
Do you use an original disc of Microsoft Windows 7, or is it a copy to a friend?
You should only use the Microsoft original disks with valid software.

Why do you need the driver for a DVD player?
As far as I know the drive uses the standard Windows drivers and it s not necessary to install any other drivers. -

There is no such thing as a pilot for ODD (optical disc drive). It uses the standard Microsoft driver. Try please remove the disc from the Device Manager, then restart the laptop. After reboot the ODD will be detected and installed it again. Check please if the problem persists.
If yes I recommend you to install the driver for DVD-RAM (DVDForm Utility). You can find it on the download page of Toshiba. I use the 3.0.9.0a version. and it works perfectly.

It would be very improper for any Windows operating system to does not support optical drives, especially if the laptop comes with Vista in the first place. So I'm afraid you've been misinformed. However, this link can help you to solve the problem...

Cannot find the driver for cd/dvd
I have a HP Pavilion dv8135nr and my driver for cd/dvd drive does not work says that my driver is corrupted. I already uninstalled and reinstalled. I use the disc that came with my computer laptop but guess what does not work my cd/dvd drive. Any help would be great. And I don't want to go to a site and pay for it. HP didn't on the site here. What do you mean by player don t work?The Windows operating system contains such driver! It s an own drivers from Microsoft and the ODD should be recognized automatically.
In your case, you should first check if the CD/DVD drive is recognized in the BIOS.
If it s not the case then your new ODD is not compatible or there is a hardware failure.If the BIOS recognizes the drive CD/DVD correctly, but if the ODD is not correctly in the Windows Device Manager (yellow exclamation point) then this could be the problem of registry.
In this case, you should remove the reader of CD/DVD from the list of devices and must restart the new laptop -
