DROID: Multimedia Station (MOTA855DOCK)

First impressions:

Once connected and you move away from the screen of the clock to do something, how to return to the screen of the docking station without having to remove the unit from the dock? Only one I've found is to run the third-party application to 'anchor runner. "

Indicator appears if the unit is actually in charge - so if your battery is at 100%, there is no visual indicator that you are actuall plugged into power - this could be a real problem since there is no way to ensure that the unit is plugged in. I can easily see wake up and driving off to work without a fully charged phone.

The volume of the alarm to the max is ridiculously low... in fact, pretty uselss...

Please tell me I'm missing something!

Why call it a 'multimedia' station if there is no port for external speakers? I mean, how would it have been to provide a plug so that you could have fed involved running on the platform (get the signal from the usb port)? I mean really, am I supposed to sleep with headphones on? Or listen to my $600 wake-up sounds like a piercing AM radio? lol... all just ridiculous. To use external speakers, you must put the unit on the base, and then plug the speakers into the headphone jack: heavy and ugly.

Speaking of silly... cheek 'slide show' through all the images... you cannot select a directory/folder? Now, my wife is going to see the pictures of my girlfriend! (and I love see the icons in my slideshow - hehe)

Forget "mutli-media dock"... it would be much more appropriate to call it, what is is: A Charging Stand.

I'd like to hear that other experiences - especially the tips/tricks, 3rd party applications.

To return to the screen of mult-media after you moved away from simply pull down the notification window and select "connected to the multimedia station.

Why do you have DockRunner installed if you have the real dock?

  • A much improved car-mount: the Media Station

Three weeks of driving around, constantly having to play with ropes, taken to plug-in the hard micro-usb, strained to see the text in small characters, to reach too high and too far away to hit the tiny icons - and several other annoyances, today I let fall on the Motorola Droid car mount, and took the multimedia Station in the car.

I opened a retractable tray on my dashboard (Audi A6) and a rubber band later took the Motorola Droid Media securely fixed Station in an ideal position for driving. Connect a retractable charger cable (which allows a perfect tension cord) in to the dock and put to rout the wire almost invisibly on the dock.

Here I use a beige elastic so you can see how you hold firmly to the shelf/drawer...

Below, I use a black elastic (headband) and

now, the installation becomes safe and "invisible"...

Now, finally, entering into the car I can simply place the droid in the dock: instantaneous power and correct orientation of the screen.

During the passage of the car, I just pick up the Droid and on foot:

The Droid is more in the way of my conduct.

The touchscreen is now more than 5 "and 3" closer to my right hand that witnesses to my car radio. In my car, it's the ideal position to be able to safely use the Droid as a GPS device and one-touch speakerphone.

Because the unit is in the Media Station, the screens are view of landscape.

including the keyboard of the phone and contacts.

When you drive along, the Media-Station screen is seductive and contains useful information.

One touch and the regular home screen appears in all its splendour of the landscape orientation. Running the app MODE drive puts the phone in speaker mode as soon as I answer a call.

It is how the droid should be used in a car.

(YouTube video of the above photos)

Looks like I might have a real reason to abandon my Garmin Nuvi now (and I fear no longer have to answer or make a call while driving.)

Can't wait to make a more elegant solution (clips) to keep the Station from established media.

or at least get a rubberband black; )

UPDATE 12/20/09: rubberband replaced with a black elastic band in all of them but #1 (so you can see the mounting)

DockRunner puts the phone in multimedia editing mode - which is not necessary as this "p I m p my droid' project uses the frame of media.

Car App puts the phone in car mode - which * is * necessary because this isn't the car holder.

OP has done this in the first place because car mounting, you must connect the phone to the power, to remove the phone you need to untangle it mount AND unplug it. Media support requires just lift the phone, is much easier.

So, I got the multimedia station yesterday and it brought to my work and want to know if there is a setting to make the screen do not expire when it is docked in the station?

I thought it was supposed to stay on when it is docked.  You have the power cord plugged in?  Try this from the home screen, press Menu-> settings - Applications-> development-> Stay awake.  Make sure that it is checked.  As long as it is plugged in it will keep the screen.  I hope this helps.

  • Dock station multimedia Motorola

I just bought the dock Station multimedia Motorola for my Droid X, which is hooked up with HDMI cable. When I plug the phone on the dock, he 'connects to the application of the "multiple Station". On the bottom in watch 'play all' (for the music) and "Peak Slide" for the photos. When I click on either they will only play on the phone not the TV. The only way I can get the pictures to play on TV, if I click on 'HDMI' when the image is on the phone and then it will play on the TV. (It will work with the Hdmi cable just in the gallery.

I thought that this dock would play music and view photos and videos on TV. (It's not even a selection of videos on the 'multiples' Station (you must go to the Gallery so he could play on TV).)

Y at - it another app that works? If this isn't the case, I might as well return it. I can use the cable that is connected directly to the TV to view photos and video.

By default, this is how the HDMI output is designed to work.  There is an application that might work for you.  I must warn you however that some people have no problems with it on the phone from freezing and they need to pull the battery to get the phone working again.  The app worked ok for me.  'S called it Real HDMI.  It will allow what is on the screen of the Droid X to be displayed via the HDMI port.

Another thing that should be noted is that when you have playing on the tv, it appears that the x screen is frozen.  This is normal because the X cannot display on a screen at a time.  When you turn off HDMI Real what going to happen of the x display.  You can still select and make things on the screen, but you have to guess where you need to put your finger.  You can also turn off soft, then again to refresh the screen so that you know where the tap of your finger.  I hope this helps.

  • the update of the 2.2 defy had a docking station as the droids MODE option?

Hi I was wondering if upadate motorola for challenges to froyo 2.2 has added a new feature DOCK MODE as the motorola droids can't, I saw my phone in standby mode once with a dock mode on it, but when I type it it is returned to the main screen, any ideas how I can turn this option?

    Thank you!

Nothing should be plugged into the microUSB port, there is a magnetic sensor near the port that allows to the docking station. It may have just come up through error, but this is the way to activate it.

  • Live station multimedia dock

Hey guys love your products as always. Now, I have a Neo V and again very happy with the phone. IM from the New Zealand and am looking to get the Station Live multimedia Dock. The thing is that its hard here and I so family send me it in the United Kingdom. I have a minor but probably a major issue in relation to it. It come with a Micro HDMI cable? There are no mentions anywhere and if I need one that I can get one on the spot, I don't want to end up with 2 cables! Cheers and keep up the great work!

    Love you Sony Ericsson!

Hi Chunkybeats, to the dock, you should try rescue Fone Mobile on 0800 021 222, they may be able to help with this. Unfortunately I could not confirm the sales package UK in the region, I'm sorry.

  • Station multimedia mess up wallpaper

When I remove wallpaper dock is reduced... If I reboot everything is well again... That is until I got anchor again...

You use ADW Launcher EX, or any other pitcher?

This happened to me at ADW ex After that I restarted once, the problem has not returned and docking and puts to work without any problem. Wallpaper rights itself. But it was boring. I think that the dev for ADW may need to recode things to make it more user-friendly gingerbread.

  • Droid: How can I retrieve a ringtone text message or multimedia?

I received a SMS with a ring attached to it. I can read the attachment but can not extract to use as a ringtone. Someone can provide any indication on how to extract and use.  Thank you

Looking at the text, all you have to do is a long click on the words of the text and a pop-up menu will appear with one of the options in copy attached to SD card.  Very simple.  You can also get an application called Save MMS and it will help you save the attachments as well.  It really is not necessary however.  I hope this helps.

  • Phone sleeping on Docking Station

Since I downloaded the last software update, my droid bionic will now to sleep so that on the docking station.

I forgot... I received advice from three different users yesterday. Here's what got my phone for work in the dock:

    1. turn the phone off, remove battery for two minutes & then restarts.

    2. go into Manage applications & find dock desktop. Select erase data.

    3. manage Apps new Google dish music selection. Uninstall the app updates.

Phone worked in the three large dock after all. Looks different when it is docked with JB... but I have it. I hope this helps.

  • What to do if the Droid Razr recognizes not his ' Dock

After visiting the local VZ corporate, to fetch a long battery life for the imminent arrival of a Droid 3, my razr has ceased to recognize the dock.

Symptoms included don't not the home screen for the landscape when in the car or the House switching platform and not offering don't not the any option to dock in the docking station.

I erased the Motorola dock service cache, the cache of the homescreen as well as hide smart dock.

I rebooted the phone several times as well.

    Still no luck.

It appeared that the phone didn't know it is docked, as Dock options do not show up in the notification bar.

Some applications recognize the landscape orientation when it is docked, some do not. Once again, suggesting that he did not see the dock.

    The fix?

I then remembered that, when I plugged my Razr on the time of the first docking station, it did the same until the power cable is connected.

So I thought that the cable is not properly fixed. However, as he has been in charge, I initially reduced this as well.

Still, I thought it would be worth a test:

With the phone still plugged into the dock, I removed the power cable at the back of the dock and then reinsert.

It restarted the dock software and everything is back to normal.

    Easy, isn't it?

  • drivers - x 31-docking station

    Hello

updated x 31 from XP to Windows 7 (32) and got everything to work outside of the docking station. When it is docked, USB external drive is not recognized, and resolution of the external monitor does not work properly.

Smart Download reported Multimedia, Ethernet and problems of 'unknown device', but could not offer drivers/solution.

Any suggestion how to fix the problems?

    Thank you

    Jochen

Look in the device under your graphics Manager.  You use the vga graphics card standard windows 7?

Control of windows update in Control Panel under optional updates.  Windows will detect your ethernet.  Let me know if you use the standard vga adapter.  Obtaining a driver to work for our ati card is a little weird, but doable.

You will need it if you have not already had it.  That's the power management.

  • The value of droid at the exit of music via BT headset?

I'm sure that it's simple, but how do you define the (radio station streaming) audio output droid although BT?  I've already matched with my phone and it works for calls but audio is still fine as the speaker...

My Jabra BT250v pairs ONLY with audio of the phone - not the sound of media.

Steroe Bluetooth headsets * should * pair all the sound elements.

  • Guide to Windows Media Center TV shows what's on, on any given station

    * Original title: my TVguide WMC shows what's on, on any given station (now and after) after clicking on the aforementioned station. (No further than the following is no longer available)

    Hello

I have windows 7 (64-bit) and I use WMC with a satellite dish (for free-to-air) channels.
I have an internet connection on the PC (I use it to make this post) and the PC is not running and connected to the internet 24/7.

This means that I can't record or see what's on. I tried to update the guide (or re-install) and no luck I read all the blogs I can find on the issue and none of them have been the solution to my problem.
The standard options guide do not appear to be available in my version of WMC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards
    Boost

  • Droid screen Dead Zone?

I bought my droid 5 months ago and couldn't be happier with it.  Today, during use, an application has started to behave erratically (map in the app started jerking around as if someone was quickly sliding their finger at random).  I quit the app and put the phone on the multimedia base.  The phone then started throwing random apps and clicking on things at random. I picked up the phone, turn off the screen and erased to the bottom of the screen with a soft cloth (in case there was something to this topic originally a problem).  When I turned on the rear screen, it seemed to be working normally.  But I quickly noticed that the search key did not work.  So, I started an app 'Multitouch Test' and confirmed that the screen now has a GIANT dead zone.  He fails to enroll in any contact from thereon the midpoint of the home screen to the right edge of the screen (every once in a while, it will record a button on the far right edge, but usually nothing).  I rebooted several times, open the keyboard several times, clean the screen, etc., and nothing seems to help.  If I use drawing software (simply draw) and make of the sine waves from left to right on the screen, the waves show very well until they hit the dead zone.  Then they stop or change a straight line, once my finger hits the screen edge.

Any thoughts on something to try/check because before I take it back to the store to be replaced?

    Thank you

    Anthony

Well, if you have evidence of a dead zone, probably id say there is a hardware problem and you can prove it to verizon for a valid replacement request.  Things to try everything first: try pulling the battery, leaving for at least 30 seconds, uninstall the recent applications, and since you are replacing it anyway, back up your stuff and do a reset.  Although it may seem like a replacement will be necessary, it's worth a try to save some hassle you.
