Drop Shadow helps.

Hey people I completely forgot how to do this.  This is a file that we use on our site of clan to our ranks (Yes the nerd here).  I'm modifying the master file to add new titles and emblems of game.  As we create the ranks we just hide what diapers actually us need and create a PNG file for our site.

I do not remember how to create a drop shadow of nappies just I want and I have the drop shadow show upward on its own layer.

Maybe I have to wait until we have the flatten, create shade and finally the PNG file.  Simply not save changes when we do this.

Attached are some pictures to better explain things.

Shadow 1.JPG

As you can see the problem. I hover over the type, but the shadow does not move

Shadow 2.JPG

Look at just the layer with the shadow

Shadow 3.JPG

And a look at the layers themselves.

What I can do, is just to create a rank of Moff and hide everything not related to this rank create me PNG file and down to the general and so on.

Am I missing something easy?  When I go through effects and add it like this, I lose my embossed effect.  I tried selecting all and using Styles and style default shadow only lose my embossed effect.  There has got to be something simple that I forgot.  We have not had to change this since 2007.  I am also using Photoshop 5.1, but I have CS3 and installed 4 yet if this is useful.

Thank you!

Without analyzing what you put in in detail, let me say this:

Rather than make the shadows separately, an effective way to keep the effects with pixels or the hidden vector fills or text is to use a layer, attached to a layer Style.  As well, if you want to make two layers have the same layer style, possibly as a starting point for other changes, you can right click on a layer, select the copy layer Style, then select one or several others, right click, then choose Paste layer Style.

For example:

You can change the layer styles once added to a layer simply by double-clicking on the style you want to change.

  • For Drop Shadow Effects to InDesign help. Good or bad?

    I'm carrying a book in InDesign 5.5. The book is sent in PDF format to the Publisher of the book. The book includes about 400 pictures that many are wrapped in the text (clothing). My question is: what are the pitfalls or problems that might result if I apply a shadow to photos using InDesign, drop shadow functionality?

    I see two check boxes in the Drop Shadow Effects dialog box:

    Object mask Shadow & honors other effects of shade. I guess I want the object to knock out the shadow?

    You're probably going to want to knock out the shadow. There are times where you might want to do otherwise, but unless you are very familiar with the overprint and knockout, I would recommend to stay away. Here is more information on the subject: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/indesign/cs/using/WSa285fff53dea4f8617383751001ea8cb3f-7038a.h tml

    The only trap I can think in aesthetics. Shadows are used when used subtly. To facilitate your work, instead of individually apply a shadow to your objects, you can apply a style object. This would allow you to easily make changes to all objects with the drop shadow effect. More on that here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/indesign/cs/using/WS5CEDB81A-0011-4dc9-9DE8-AC7AD4C80076a.html

  • Need help with the Drop Shadow in Illustrator feature

    Hello

    I'm working on a file in Illustrator.  In a part of the file, I dropped earlier on a text shadow, and it seems quite well.  This can be seen in the screenshot #1.

    Later in the same file, when I try to drop shadow on another piece of text now becomes blur (screenshot #2).  I don't know if some parameters have unknowing changed in illustrator.  I tried to shadow in a new totally different file as well, but that no longer appears blurred too.

    I will be grateful if I can help.

    Kind regards

    Abbas.

    Recheck the blur in the settings drop (looks like it is set to 0 in picture 1).

  • Can dreamweaver adds a drop shadow to an image?

    I'm newbie DW and not a coder.

    I have a page with a background image, there is a photo that I want to apply a drop. I applied a box-shadow for the an img and also for the container property, but of course, they are in the wrong place because it does not apply a drop shadow to the image. Ive searched the forums but only to find ways to add a shadow to a box, or good suggestions to apply the drop shadow in PS. The problem with doing it in photoshop, it's that I had to make the canvas bigger than the image that puts a white border around the image I want. (I use DW 5.5)

    Any help much appreciated.

    The problem with doing it in photoshop, it's that I had to make the canvas bigger than the image that puts a white border around the image I want. (

    If you are using Photoshop, you will need to put your picture with a drop shadow over a transparent background layer (denoted by the checkerboard) and export/save for web in PNG with transparency.  See screenshot.

    You can also use the icons of resizable police as great police or Glyphicons in web pages.  These can be decorated with borders CSS, colours and the shadows-text way to ordinary images cannot.   See the example below for more details.

  • How to create this type of drop shadow to a vector

    Hello!

    I wanted to ask you how to create this type of drop shadow to a vector in illustrator. I've seen these files and tried a lot to create that effect

    123.jpg

    The shadow under the letters make this beautiful banner.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I wouldn't have the effect of "vector". I could do this:

    1. Select the text object
    2. The background/contour value 'None '.
    3. Add 2 attributes of filling level of the objects in the "appearance" Panel
    4. Give the top of the page a 'white' and low 'Black.
    5. Select the fill 'Black' and it has an effect of "blur".
    6. Set the transparency of the fill black to "multiply".
    7. Save the appearance as a 'chart' Style and assign to each character separately

    If you want to change the character of a select skin, make the changes, and 'Option' drag the thumbnail from the appearance on the graphical Style available today. The changes will appear at any location, the Style is used.

  • 'Drop shadow' creates a line - problem

    Hello

    I am in the process of producing a card (17 x 22 inches) and I met a quite disturbing problem with "shadow" effect

    I tried to drop shadow on a size of 12 x 18 inch object with these settings:

    2014-07-24_143327.png

    And I got good result on all of the form, except the lower part, that give me a line. As the cuts through the dark thing:

    2014-07-24_142426.png

    I would add that the object is on the single layer and nothing interacts with it.

    At first, I thought that maybe it's display problem, not the shadow itself, so I zoomed in and out, but nothing has changed. Then I made sure that all anchor points are connected to each other - I'm sure that the object IS closed. I tried to manipulate anchor points, slightly changed the shape of the object, add, delete some anchor points, changed settings shadows - nothing makes no difference in how the shadow looks like. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    ANIA

    I don't know exactly what the problem was. I had to open the DS in so just AICS6 rid of all the other stuff and applied to the object. Happy to help you.

  • How to add a drop shadow on this flattened PNG image?

    First timer here-

    When I hide the blue globe Wired where I want the shadow, the Inspector no longer allows me to add the effect.

    Is there a workaround or solution in a different way to select the globe, to make the world its own layer and apply the effect?

    Thank you very much

    Hello Ken, I'm not sure that I can help because I don't know what a 'wired blue globe'.  However, you have described as a flattened .png.

    If you try to add a shadow to a .png of resource file in your Fireworks work?

    NB.  It is unusual to flatten a .png file, because the .png files are used for transparency and flattening out this quality.  I use Fireworks CS4 and a PC, and I've tried both a normal and a flattened .png.  These image files have been imported into the document, on any given page, then their own layer.  In addition, I right click the none flattened .png and was still able to add a drop shadow.

    Make sure that you did your household and know that the asset you are trying to add a drop shadow, is highlighted in the layers panel, and you are on the right page. Also, make sure that the view of the page layout is in iconic Mode [top-right]: which means go all the panels icon and the properties panel is entirely visible.

    For PC, set the value of the assets, choose Properties, click the small arrow next to the + sign, filter located. If this does not work for you. Then give more info on how you created the asset, what operating system you are using and what version of Firefox.  I hope this helps.  Sometimes, all programs Adobe sort of can get stuck.  So just close doc and open again and hopefully, should dissipate the bugs.  Best wishes

  • The drop shadow layer style angle setting back to default when reloaded into the new file

    My question is how do to prevent the following occurs. I created a shadow layer style in a file .psd with the parameters below.

    Screen Shot 2013-03-27 at 12.50.03 PM.png

    I saved it in a file .asl I could use later. When I loaded it in a different .psd file later that day there, some parameters have remained the same, but the angle back to 30 degrees to 120 degrees all on its own, as shown below.

    Screen Shot 2013-03-27 at 12.50.15 PM.png

    I just want to know how to keep the layer style settings I recorded in a file .asl return parameters when loading in a new .psd file.

    My systems settings are as follows:

    Photoshop CS6 extended Version 13.0 x 64

    Mac OSX 10.8.2 with 705,44 Go off 749,3 GB available

    The only other software I am running is Safari web browser

    This is my first time trying to save a layer style and use it in a .psd file different than the one I created in.

    Kind regards

    Nikki Gutierrez

    First thing you should do is update photoshop help > updates in in photoshop cs6, as many bugs have been fixed and your always on 13.0

    (not that your description is a bug, but version 13.0 had a lot of glitches that will drive you crazy when you meet one)

    Also, overall lighting can be different from one document to the other as you use global light selected in the drop shadow dialog box

    Layer > layer Style > Global light > corner

    See if uncheck Use Global light makes all the difference

  • Effects of text in InDesign, drop shadow, outer glow, etc...

    Hi, I'm in InDesign CS4 on a PC running XP.

    I was wondering if it is safe to use text effects in InDesign the drop shadow, outer glow. I think someone told me earlier that they are best used in Photoshop especially if you want to print. I just wanted to check that I will be having something printed with the help of ID...

    Thank you.

    I've never had a problem with shadow or a glow on text in ID when you go to print, but I let my live transparency and let the printer handle flattening RIP. You can have problems with a printer that has old equipment and insists on having a flattened PDF, but if it happens press (rather than the digital output) even what is unlikely, although I tend to stay away from the effects of ads where I'm not supported the selection of the printer.

    The only way that you would avoid flattening of the questions by the effects in Photshop would be to flatten the image in Photoshop and placing this, but this will rasterize text unnecessarily and will probably lower quality type in the final output.

  • Select text AND drop shadow effect

    I have a text layer which has also an effect layer shadow.

    If I have to ctrl + click on the thumbnail of the layer, as expected, it selects the text but is not also include the drop shadow layer style. I guess it's because the Ctrl clicking on the miniature mask selects the non-transparent pixels completely and drop shadow layer mask is slightly transparent?

    How can I easily select text and ALL pixels of drop shadow?

    In a Word, I want to choose only 100% transparent pixels, so I can reverse to select the 100% opaque text and < 100% pixels layer transparent drop shadow?

    Thanks for any help you can give.

    The pixels are selected; It is that ants walking delineate only the boundary between lower or greater than 50% selected. To select completely all non-transparent pixels in your shadow layer, select as you did and go quick mask mode. Make sure that the quick mask is active in the Panel layer and run the threshold with a value of 255. Return to Standard mode, and you will see ants on expanded.

    I created a website at FWCS3 and when I put a background behind it (in DWCS3), drop shadow effects that I do not work with all colors other than white.  Can someone give some advice?  If I use another color for the background shading looks terrible, like a grayish color please help.

    What you need to do is to save your images as a png with transparency files... Then the shadow will look at all the horizons of the color.

    This does not work in IE and below without a javascript fix.

  • Drop shadow effect is not visible

    I use CS4 for Windows and I have several great books for her, but I'm still fighting fill a simple shadow on the picture effect. No matter what I try to use the fall simple shadow fx or suggestions complex building several different layers, I never see the final effect on the photo. I even click and uncheck "Preview", but it makes no difference. The photo displayed in the window of my CS4 continues to look like the photo when I first opened it. Am I supposed to flatten layers or somehow bring together them into a single layer?

    I'm puzzled.

    I'd appreciate any help. I'm sure I'm doing something completely ignorant, but I'm willing to drive me crazy to finally resolve this issue.

    Once again, thank you.

    Kind regards

    When you have 'created' the canvas, did you actually go to the Image-canvas size and expand the area of the canvas, or just fill in an area around your existing image with white?

    You must understand that the shadow appears outside the edge pixels of the layer, so if your image is taking up all the space of the canvas, the shadow will drop simply fall outside the visible area. Try to make a new layer and fill in a little box with any color, then apply the drop shadow effect, and you will see that it is not the edge of your box. The shadow on your image layer is applied the same way.

  • Table and drop shadow

    I have two questions about the development on this page: http://www.orled.com/newnav.htm

    1. why can I get my table aligned to the top? I have this big white space along the top that is not part of my table.
    2. can I apply a shadow to a table cell in dw? I want a shadow on white blood cells that contains the logo.

    Be nice to me, this is my 1st site. Thank you all for helping me.

    1] white space in the upper part is because there is a set of margin of 24 PX homepage
    in the P7exp.css style sheet. Change this:
    {body
    do-family: Arial, Helvetica, without serif.
    do-size: 11px;
    background-color: #ffffff;
    margin: 24 PX 0;
    padding: 0;

    }

    To do this:
    {body
    do-family: Arial, Helvetica, without serif.
    do-size: 11px;
    background-color: #ffffff;
    margin: 0 24 0 PX 0;
    padding: 0;

    }

    Note that only the MARGIN line has been changed. This will keep your background
    margin, but zero in on the top margin.

    [2] to create a drop shadow, you must create an image of the shadow
    (Photoshop) and use it as a cell background, which you define in
    CSS. For example, to create a white square with a shadow through the
    top of the page, and then save it as shadow.gif. Next, create a custom as CSS class:
    {.cellshadow}
    background-image: url (.. / img/shadow.gif);
    background-repeat: repeat-x;
    }

    The path of the URL in the value above assumes that your style sheet is located in a folder
    (like 'css') and the image is in another folder ("img") - and the two
    These files are at the root of the site.

    Apply the class to your cell:
