Duplex scan HP Scan with a 8600 Officejet more
The document on the 8600 Officejet more feeder supports duplex scanning (i.e. analysis on both sides of the originals). I had no trouble to make it work when I start a scan from the printer control panel - there is a very clear button to switch between sides 1 and 2-sided originals.
When I run the scan of my computer, however, the use of the scanner program included (HP Scan 3), I can't find any option to select two-sided scanning. I use the automatic document feeder, but I just get a side scanned. Is there a hidden option somewhere in HP Scan 3 I forgot?
I use a Mac, for what it's worth, under OS X 10.6.8 'Snow Leopard '.
These instructions did not help me, because the boxes of dialogue look completely different in the Mac version of the software, but they invite me to looking more carefully at the menus once more. I found that if you enable the scan Preferences dialog box, either by clicking on the icon in the lower left corner of the main screen or by selecting ' Scan HP | Preferences"in the menu, the option I want is here. In the middle of the screen, above a horizontal divider, there are five icons after the word "Orientation". The first two are really orientation, and the other three control unilateral versus double scanning.
So yes, I really was missing something pretty obvious.

I have the HP Officejet Pro 8600 - N911a e-all-in-one printer. This device capable of scanning two-sided or should I have spent more than $$$?
No problem. I have access to all 3 and find a few differences apart from a few small automated features (and 2nd in the premium line paper tray). If you got the printer for $150 USD, then you got it at a good price.
I hope you best of all your future printing and scanning needs!
Good impression,

Can't scan with my 4610 Officejet using HP Pavillion 8.1 to win 20-b-020
My officejet is around the age of 6 months. I have not used the scanner since I bought it, but when I tried it today, it would not scan.
The dialogue of the printer said I check the USB connection (it prints from the computer OK) and make sure that the software is installed and configured.
When I bought the computer it included an installation disc that's not open on my 8.1 WIN yould so I opened the disc on another computer and copied the installation on my own computer. It seemed to work OK for normal printing.
Can someone advise me on an exercese troubleshooting I can run to find the problem. In addition, I do not understand
the statement "configured". Maybe I missed that and if so how to manage it?
Hello bussoite,
I understand that your Officejet will not scan. I understand you need to have improved your HP Pavilion computer to Windows 8.1 also.
You must uninstall the software/driver that you used from the installation disc. Always use the latest drivers from HP.
NOTE: You must clean all the HP printer drivers and software of the system.
How do I uninstall the HP printer drivers.
You can also then run Ccleaner to clean better left above the elements of registry with the registry cleaner.
CCleaner Slim edition (scroll down) is free to use. It cleans temporary files, but does not delete the documents, photos or other files normal.
Then, download and install the software/driver for Windows 8.1 64bits.
Software Installtion drivers-product -click and choose Download the full software and driver .
Page Windows 8.1 drivers here.
Under the Diagnostics utility tools is the HP print and Scan Doctor. You can install as to diagnose problems with the scanner, if it still does not work.
Let me know if have any other questions.

How can I get HP Director? Apparently, I need to scan with my 6500 has more
I got on the forum the other day and gave a solution to a dilemma of scanning. The solution involves the use of HP Director. Well, I don't have it, find it and download it is the since the tomb of Tutankhamun's best-kept secret. It would be assumed that something as vital woud be a no-brainer.
Hello
I think that from time to time the name 'Administrator' can have a different name with more features. Please download "Full Feature software and driver" from the following link, the Director (or a similar name) should be there:

HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g: 8600 Officejet more connection WiFi
When I look at the WiFi signals available on my cell phone, I see my printer is a WiFi signal (name: 'HP-Print-20-Office'), but it asks for a password and I don't know how to enter the system to change anything.
I know somewhere I should be able to communicate with a web server of HP to rest my password for my registered e-mail address. But I have not yet found.
Any suggestions?
I finally found! I had to go on Youtube to find videos downloaded HP on how to print the configuration page, that you have suggested. She provided a procedure step by step on how to find the network configuration Page. The password is a series of numbers, not a word or phrase that I thought it might be. I am officially connected with more signal and speed. Thanks for your help.

HP officejet pro 8600 duplex scan
How can I duplex scanner using the charger to top of the page? Is there a driver or software, I need? I bought this printer to use this feature. As a teacher, I want to analyze all my books in my USB.
Please help me!
To tell you the 8600 don't scan two-sided on the base model, only on the most and the Premium version of the printer. But in addition, I don't know what you're looking for is possible. Duplex scanning function is reserved for the simple leaves, double-sided media - not for books. With books, the only method for the analysis of these images is through the flat bed scanner because it can't shoot an entire book through the ADF.
I hope this solves your request!
