Yes, it's expensive... and just think... it used to be more expensive.  Try eBay or Googling the part number, if you want a deal.

I'm trying to locate some drivers from floppy disks for my HP DV7-1279WM, so I can install Windows XP. Driver of HP page not a alas drivers Vista/7. Help, please

You must use the arrow keys up/down to scroll through and select the driver you need.

They do not appear in any order.  You can't just look at the initial screen, you see.

The driver is there because I posted that you need directly from the configuration file.

Here is the list of the drivers that you have copied to the diskette. You will see that the names listed, not the ID.

Take a look for yourself by opening the iaAHCI configuration information file.

  • Pavilion DV7-6c23cl AMD quad core laptop there a 2nd Bay and a port?

    Hello

I'm looking for a laptop that can accommodate two hard disks (I want a smallish SSD for the system and a conventional SATA, more great for data), I've read that at least some of the Pavilion DV7 laptops with a drive Bay 2nd (& port). Costco is currently selling an image based AMD Pavilion DV7 (dv7-6c23cl) that seems attractive. What I need to know is: has a drive Bay 2? Thank you.

    Hello

  • DV7-3085DX 2nd HDD Bay

I have a look at my DV7-3085DX and see that there is a second HDD Bay but no connection to connect a 2nd internal hard drive.

Is it possible to add connectors & turn on the 2nd hard drive Bay? If so how can it be done?

Also, I noticed that connections exist inside for a tv tuner, is it possible to use this connection?

Any help or answers greatly appreciated.

At least the drive and theoretically Yes Yes on the tv tuner even though it is expensive. You need the module and a special cable. I can't find the part on the internet or on this site, but you could maybe call HP or even look on ebay. Here is the part that you need to add a second drive. It's the caddy and a connection cable.

  • Pavilion dv7 - 4197cl: 2nd set of recovery disks still does not.

Due to the major failure of HARD drive I had to replace it. I did the recovery disc for this computer shortly after getting it. Replaced and upgraded to a Toshiba 1 TB. Tried recovery disc I made. They caused the computer to lock up and just touch e power to stop would work to stop it. Ordered a new series of discs a few months earlier and go around doing a cover of them last week. Recovery stopped shortly after the second disc would begin (modified time/%) and would eject the DVD drive with a message to contact HP support and a replacement disk HARD would normally fix this problem press Finish to close the computer. After the reboot, I get this message:

Windows could not start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause.  To solve the problem:

1: Insert your Windows installation disc, and then restart your computer.

2: Choose your language settings, and then click "next".

3: click on "Repair your computer."

If you do not have the disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Supports HP response was ' we sent you the correct discs so I you go to a technician "and the M.a.n informs me that I am out of warranty, but they can still fix it. Everything that I have to do is sign up for a support contract. Ordered a second set of disks. Both the original order said there would be 4 disks, but both times there was only 3 sent me. Second series does the same. I tried several hard drives and even an SSD with the same result. I tried all the recommended Windows repair suggestions are done everything to nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

    Win 7 64 HP

    8 GB OF DDR3 MEMORY

    1 TB HARD DRIVE

    128 GB SSD

    Hi Tony,.

Well, I finally understand that. I removed the RAM that was in it and installed just the 12800 DDR3 4 GB. There was a short video on the internet on Windows errors and he said try it. Well, it worked for me. Then, it was just a question of what the devil the restore program was doing. Guests or lack thereof are terrible, and the only way to know if it still works on something is on the lookout for the activity on the LED on the HARD drive. Thanks for the answer, and I hope one of these patches, either yours or mine, will help someone else. Incidentally he semed to the amount of installed memory. Whenever I went to 8GB I had problems. 6 or less and it was OK. Any manufacturer or speed (HP recommend of course) worked as long as I stayed under the 8GB. Thanks again.

  • Adding an SSD on the 2nd Bay in a HP Envy 17-j021nr

    Hello world

I know there are already a few questions similar to this one, but I just wanted to ask to be completely safe.

From what I understand, I'm suppose to use the spare part kit 605415-001, but after watching carefully the kit I don't think it comes with the appropriate cable.

My current HARD drive is connected via an AWM 20624 80 60V tablecloth, just like this picture:

On the circuit where the cable is connected, there are two marked hubs HDD1 and HDD2, the former is used by the current HARD drive.

Cable 605415-001 kit spare parts looks nothing like the cable that uses the current HARD drive.

Do I need a different Kit for the HP Envy 17-j021nr? Or I do something wrong?

Thank you all for your time!

    Christopher

First of all, let me say very nice post with photos and everything. Very clear question. I am also a model of Envy 17-j0xx with a second empty Bay. I did an image search on google with the part number of the kit that you have published and there indeed a cable that comes out of the SATA adapter and goes to the motherboard which is different from a cable layer right like in your photo, but if you look at the end of this I think that the trick is inserted into HDD2 little marked zif connector. I intend actually get the second kit car here:

  • HP ENVY 17 - J075EZ: Cable for 2nd Bay hard drive for HP ENVY 17

Hi all! I wanted to ask a question. I own a HP ENVY 17-J075EZ, and in it there are two locations for hard disk, including the main used from the hard drive... Because I wanted to put an SSD, but still keep the HARD drive, I wanted to know how it's called the second cable to connect a second drive hard and, eventually, the price and where to buy! Thanks in advance!

  • dv7-1279wm wireless driver not installed but worked before

My wireless turn on the good, and now it does not and says that the driver is not installed. Ugh I tried everything HELP PLEASE!

This part is very easy to find and replace yourself. If you take the service cover from the bottom of your laptop, you should see a map with two sons (a white or grey, black) attached to it. It should also have a HP number on there part as 455549-003 or similar. Just look for a place like Ebay or Amazon for the part number on the wifi card, you have, and it should pull straight upward.

Are you sure that there is a SATA connector in the Bay of 2nd?
    Check this first.

If you have a second SATA connector, you can get a kit of mounting an ASP (certified partner).
You can search on Toshiba Europe site: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

  • 2nd hard drive install on pavilion dv7-3060us 17.3 inches with Quad core processor

Pavilion dv7-3060us computer has a 2nd hard drive Bay.  On 2 flags of 17.3 inches previous, I installed a 2nd HDD.  This quad core Pavilion is much thinner than the previous pavilions;  the underside of the computer has also a centre piece in the form of "T" in the Panel without screw - is a pop on the access panel or the entire bottom panel needs to be removed through the perimeter screws?  Still trying to find a manual showing this particular case - no luck so far.  The downloaded HP

Manual for the previous dv-7 is for the case of style like unless I missed something.

Install an SSD soon - would like to have all the "stuff" to install a 2nd drive hard if possible.  Anything I should be aware of before perform this procedure?  Don't really want to remove all the merits of the case.

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

I appreciate the help.  The Caddy is the same that I used before (on the 1st dv7) the 2nd dv7 used the direct taking of 90 degrees into the adapter.  I have both of these me more allotted a 500 GB HD.  All I need pickup is the SSD.

The "T" sign on the back of my case has no screws - but I can see the 3 component tabs snap at the top of the "T" through the small crack on the case.  These are shown on the exploded view of repair.  I'm projecting from the 'snap-out' Panel down on the vertical leg of the "T".

    Once again; Thank you

  • My laptop (DV7 - 4260ca) supports a 2nd hard drive?

Hi, my laptop (DV7 - 4260ca) has a slot identical to the current my HDD is screwed, but I can't seem to find where to connect a second hard drive. There are screws and everything like that, except the spot to plug. I couldn't look hard enough, however. I want an SSD, but if there is nowhere where to plug into it, there is no point.

    Data sheet:

    Image AMD 1.8 ghz

8 GB of memory (4 upgrade)

750 GB hard drive at 5600 RPM

    17 "display

    not much of other issues

    -Jeremy

    Hi, Jeremy:

You can call HP and see what they have to say about SATA II/III, but I think that if your laptop is not under warranty you could get pay for technical assistance.

I have never installed a secondary HARD drive in the notebook, so I don't know what port you plug the other end of the cable in.

The problem is there are 2 configurations dv7 is why there are 2 different cables to the HARD drive.

I think this post might answer your question: read the info of the carloprimo. It shows where to connect the other end of the cable into your model.

Finally, it is my pleasure to be able to help the people on the forum free HP.

I am very pleased that you appreciate my help, and that's enough thank you.

    Best regards
