DVD not working not-Vista

My operating system is Vista.  My DVD does not work.  Says that Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19). Any help pls?

Hello

19 code means there is a driver conflict such as two devices attempt to use the same resources.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
the parameters.

  • FN key does not work under Vista on a Satellite A100-192

After the key Fn for Vista Installation do not work.
HotKey Utility and other tools are installed (in recommended order), but when to start Vista displayed the error message: "could not start the HotKey Utility.

    All the other device works.

    Hello Kat

I have the same laptop. This is the Satellite A100-504 comes with Windows XP Home edition. It is the different number (504) but the same hardware configuration, and the number PSAA9E. I have preinstalled Vista last week successfully and everything works well.

You use facilities upgrade Toshiba Vista DVD or you own Vista DVD?
In any case, I installed clean Vista OS (using the facilities of Microsoft CD). After that, I visited the download page of Toshiba and initially downloaded the document called Instructions of facilities.

Please, do the same and install stuff all listed in the order. It is very important. After this Vista should work well and also all Toshiba designed tools and utilities.

BTW: standby power utility is not like before as Windows XP Home edition. Laptop uses Vista power settings now.

  • Zoo Tycoon 2 does not work on Vista 64 bit Ultimate

When I start the game it gives an error saying that I have 0 MB of RAM installed.
I also have a stub GPF.

I tried to turn on DEP for all programs and added ZT.exe in exceptional cases.
I edit "MSCONFIG" to show only 2 GB of ram.

The issue of ram 0 MB goes, but I still I get a stub of protection error when I start the game.

The thing is my old Zoo Tycoon 1 full collection works very well.
ZT1 was released around 2001-2002. Whereas ZT2 came out around 2006.
How can and more old-fashioned work fine but not the new version. I expect it to be the other way around.

Someone at the helpdesk said MS the ZT2 game does not work on Vista 64 bit and I should install a virtual machine so that it can work in 32-bit.
Is really the only way? Help, please.

    Hi orbit17,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Answers.

Try to turn on DEP for "Windows programs and services only" and then restart the computer and check with the game.

Here is a link to a KB which deals with the minimum requirements of the system and the compatibility problems with Zoo Tycoon 2: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/889368

Please make sure that your computer meets the requirements for the game and that your computer is compatible

Also how much RAM do you have installed on the computer?
Did you add extra RAM since the purchase of the computer?

You can also try to run the memory diagnostic tool by using the Windows Vista DVD.

    I hope this helps.
    Kind regards

  • External monitor does not work on Vista of Tecra M7

My external LCD monitor connected with analog cable doesn't work on my Tecra M7 with Win Vista and latest driver downloaded today on this site to display. Display of Windows Mobility center see the trendy, office is extended to the second screen and Windows display settings dialog box shows the correct resolution of the external LCD. But there is no image on an external monitor (with the 'no signal' message just after turn on the monitor).

Any changes to the display (resolution, type of display (mirror, second screen, primary/secondary)) the settings do not work.
Monitor works fine with my old laptop and Windows XP.
If I restart my computer M7 laptop with connected external display I see loading messages and windows on external monitor logo and after that I see only painted while internal lcd to my laptop is black and I can't move at all internal lcd in this case (only restarting with external display disconnected works in this case).

    Hello

Did assign the external monitor as the main screen in the graphics properties?
I think you did this due to the fact that the Toshiba splash screen appears on the external monitor.

But just moment please. The Tecra M7 was delivered with Win XP Pro tablet edition and not Vista.
Have you installed it you own hand?

I guess that everything worked running Win XP

  • Qosmio F30: Toshiba control buttons do not work on Vista 64 bit

    Hello everyone

I have Windows Vista 64-bit installed on my Qosmio F30, but before operation buttons do not work.
I tried to use the 32-bit configuration of Vista drivers, but when I press it, I got the following error: "this function not taken in charge.

So please can someone help me to overcome this problem.

    THX

    Hello

You cannot use these Toshiba control buttons (play, pause, etc.) because the necessary drivers are not installed.

You will need a compatible Vista value added package, but it seems that Toshiba page does not provide the 64-bit VAP but only the 32-bit version.
The problem is that the software for Vista 32 bit does not work on Vista 64 bit OS.

In my opinion so there's nothing to do right now

Why Toshiba Tempro don t works with windows vista 64 bit ultimate mey Satellite A300 - 1 l 4?

Any idea where I can find a solution?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

I m not very well why it doesn't work on Vista Ultimate, but to my knowledge, there are a few Vista Toshiba Utilities and tool that are not fully supported by Ultimate.

But why you use Tempro? This tool reports only if a new driver has been transferred on the Toshiba driver page.
OK, it's interesting to know that a new driver is available, but if your laptop runs without problem I wouldn't update or reinstall anything s!

  • Satellite Pro L10: WLan does not work with Vista

    Hi all

Have tried to get the WIFI adapter works on Vista, have downloaded the latest drivers but still no joy.

I know it works because I have a dual operating system: XP & Vista.

    All ideas,

    Thank you

What do you mean exactly by still no joy? Have you installed the right driver WLan and has been the WLan card recognized in the Device Manager?

I think the laptop is using wireless Mini-PCI Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network card.
In order to check again if a good driver was used.

Please don t be angry with me, but it is a book of 5 years and I m sure that it s not Vista capable of course you can install Vista on this unit but it of not impossible that some devices would not 100% compatible.

How do you get the WiFi to work on vista?

    Hello
Your question implies that you couldn t your work wireless home or both.

This way, you first make sure you that if you really have wireless or not. It s not that hard. Just look in the windows Device Manager.
If a wireless card is installed, then give feedback and maybe we'll find a way to connect with something as an access point.

If no, then buy a card and let it install by a qualified technician, you can also apply this technology for the wireless connection. :)

    Hello

I have a P100-400 (PSPA6E) Satellite and I just got the new version of Windows Vista x64bits. I tried this version of Vista because this series of laptops in the 64-bit processors. Well, the problem was when I downloaded the drivers to display on the site and when I'am install the installer says I'm not a Windows vista OS.

Well actually these drivers only work for Vista x32bits. And I had the same problem with the audio drivers. If Vista was running really slowly and noiselessly, perfect...

What I am asking, that is, if you realize laptops with 64 bit, why aren't you drivers that work with 64 bit systems...

    Hello

In fact 64-bit Toshiba drivers are not available at this time on the Toshiba page.
I think 64-bit drivers are not available because Toshiba doesn't provide any laptops equipped with 64-bit operating system.

But as far as I know that the new 64-bit drivers should appear both text.
I'm also looking for these drivers because I m an owner of the 64-bit version of Vista.

It seems that we have to wait but I m sure that the drivers will be available.
