E1000 activity led

The activity on this router light continues to blink.   It is a secure wireless connection and all my computers are turned off.  I live in the country, and my closest neighbor which is half a mile away so I doubt that I have someone outside my house, trying to connect.  I activated the record and it doesn't show any activity other than my computer.  The routing table only shows my computer as well

I had an older Linksys router and I just replaced with the e1000.  Two of them are doing the same thing.  If I turn off the router continually flashes the light on my cable modem stop activity, when I plug it in it.  I disabled pnp, that mormal?

This is normal with cable internet.

    Hello

I use an activity indicator while a thread is processing data

before you begin the task, there is no visible activity indicator-

What part gives you the IllegalStateException? My first look at this leads me to think that it is probably a problem with trying to change the user interface of a thread without obtaining the lock of the event. In addition, it may be useful to know what are your objects.

  • Hard drive constantly activity led blinking - new WIN7 Ultimate Dell PC

I've been solving this problem and for weeks on my new WIN 7 64 Ultimate Dell XPS 8000 (I7 - 860 1 TB HD 8 GB of Ram).    Looking around for a found many recommendations and a couple of issues resolved, (more unresolved), but none of the recommendations has helped me.

I had the feeling that it is perhaps a Dell-specific question, but I had no answer in the Dell forums.   I don't know if I call the Dell technical support, all I get is recommendation to return to the factory default.  No thanks!

I disabled all the suspects, at least temporarily to see if it has an effect:

    Indexing of Windows & research
    Windows Firewall
    Windows Defender
    System restore
    Remote differential compression
    Windows Fax & Scan
    SuperFetch
    Sea port

With all these off, flashing was much less busy, but there was still a steady pulse of the blink type.   I have since the Defender reactivated and restore the system.    (Even if they were to blame, it is almost a solution/workaround acceptable!)

I studied the disk activity in PERFMON, and there is an occasional activity of nucleus and the recording of events.  I took a few shots of window I can post (if I can figure out how).   I also have a HijackThis log.

Sometimes the PERFORMANCE of disk activity monitor window is empty but still the light continues to blink!  huh?

I did not disable Hibernate (there was a suggestion somewhere he could play a role).  I use it regularly.   But I can try that too, you think it might help.

I'm at my wits end and a bit overwhelmed by all the data in order to study and seek.  I hate diddling with the services and the registry, fearing to wet my head and creating a mess that I can't get.

In addition, there is no additional security software and I haven't installed everything preinstalled trial crapola.

    Help!

I'll post the hijack this log in the next post

Updated to clarify: what I reported above is essentially on the out-of-the-box behavior... not or associated with CPU-bound application. The system was fairly clean with an installed extra software/hardware minimum.

Hard drive blinks quckly because Microsoft made what is called something like Write Cache Flushing flushes written disc that maybe in this cache on the disk?  Simple.

The reason is... If you have a power failure... you lose this memory data cache and/or corrupted something that may be important.   Also taking a hit on the drive's performance and life expectancy.  If some experts say.

If you have a battery backup... or most laptops with a battery can... Turn it off!

    .. In Device Manager, the properties of the hard drive has usually a checkbox to activate cache of writing... and some will have another check box...  Disable Microsoft Write Cache Flushing.<  add="" a="" check="" to="" that="" guys box...now="" look="" at="" your="" non="" very="" often="" blinking="" hdd="" light... works=""  same="" with="" some="" of="" the="" dvd/cd="" drives, same="" controllers="">

  • constant activity SG 300-52

We recently bought a sg300-52.  I was told that I needed to configure a trunk port to connect our main catalyst.  However, I could connect a cable connection on both devices and features of endpoint of ping on both switches.  I also noticed that the activity lights blink continuously.  I don't know why.  Is there something I can do to slow the light activity?  It blicks constantly even in times of very low activity by the endpoint.

    Hi Curtis,.

Other traffic such as broadcast traffic will take place in the vlan and it will spread on the uplinks for devices in the same vlan...  You can be the witness of uplink and activity blinking activity light may be the PC at the same time.

See the below shot wireshark capture screen of my PC.  It shows about 7percent of the traffic was aired or broadcast related traffic that will be distributed to all the switch ports in the same vlan. looking carefully at this capture 10 second notice that 9.43% of my traffic are regular layer 2 old ARP packets.  I'm not concerned.

Traffic broadcast and multicast in one vlan is normal.  Abnormal, is when there is perhaps too much of this traffic (thousands of packets per second) may be due to a kind of denial of service attack or bad NIC card. If video multicast is floating around, you can see thousands of packets per second for each stream video multicast.

If you worry, unless there is a denial of service attach going on.  Your symptoms indicate, however, that the activity LED flashes, sounds normal. If this light is almost always or flashes continuously with the biggest, then it is a wireshark trace to see what might happen.

    regards Dave.

Taking wireshark and get an idea of the speed of traffic that hits the switch. I believe that the broadcast traffic rate should not be too big.

  • Sluggish laptop Win7: disk activity constant LIGHT but no e/s in ResMon

I am running out of ideas on how to determine the cause of my glowing disk activity led constantly and very slow computer and then hope you can offer any suggestions as to what to do short of re - install Windows.

The problem goes away when I secure boot (all tastes). The problem remains when I clean the boot. I even finished by a force services/processes that survive the clean boot.

I ran sfc and chkdks and neither found no errors. Resmon shows virtually no activity disk, processor, and memory after the machine installs start. Zero page faults. I ran various analyses of viruses and malicious software in hopes of finding a stand-alone process hides or a root kit, but nothing has been detected.

Configuration: Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit on Acer 5750 with i7-2630QM and 8 GB of memory

There may be a crazy driver gets jumped or substituted when starting in safe mode? How can I determine what is different between start and clean not to mention video drivers, startup environments?

I am really at my wits end and would welcome any ideas you may have on how to proceed. Thank you very much!

  • Why firefox has slow response when I save images on hard drive?

I have windows 7 64 bit and Mozila firefox worm 17.0.1. I have the following problem. When I try to save an image from a site (right mouse click and save as) the disk hard from my pc, firefox response is slow. It takes about 6 to 10 seconds. I thought that it was a matter of file size, but it turned out that it was not relevant because it was images of 10 KB to 500 KB. I did the following:
    -clear history
-clear the firefox cache and the cache folder in my profile
-Delete the downloads.sqlite and localstore.rdf files
    -J' changed the browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone and services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone false
    -clear the downloads window
    -Disable all add-ons

After all this, the problem remains
Then I started firefox in safe mode (help-> restart with the disabled... modules). The problem remains.
Then I disabled the windows firewall and Microsoft security essentials (real-time protection). I don't have any other antivirus or firewall on my pc. Nothing happened.

Then, I created a new profile (reset firefox). Nothing happened. A last attempt, then, remained to be done. Restart in safe mode. So I followed these steps.
I ran msconfig and disabled Microsoft Security Client to start tab and Microsoft antimalware Service on the services tab. So, I did a boot in safe mode with network support and disabled windows firewall. Guess what. Nothing happened.

I noticed that when I tried to record images, in the process, there was a significant activity of hard drive (the hard drive activity led indicator was constantly lighting) and firefox in the upper left corner, shown the message does not for about 6 to 10 seconds. You understand that saving a picture of 19 Ko in 10 seconds is not normal.

Is - this problem has to do with the cache? The disc is a SSD (solid state drive). Do you think that it would be preferable to redirect the in-memory cache? (I have 6 GB of total RAM). This problem was also in previous versions of firefox, but I think that with this version, the problem is more common. This is not the case with all the photos, but it happens with more than 65% of the images.

It also happens when loading a web page, but it could be a question of a heavy web page that uses a lot of resources in my system, while loading. The problem is the same. Constant hard disk activity and it takes time to load the web page. The problem with the loading of the web page, is not as common as with saving images.

I think it's a question of management of the cache. What is your opinion?

    Thank you.

The cause of my problem was the jump lists, which has Windows 7. There are two types of jump lists, automatic or custom. Automatic jump lists caused the slow decline in firefox via Windows Explorer. Finally, it was a windows problem exploring and not firefox. Windows 7 introduces many new features that cause slow system performance. In any case, the solution to the problem is to follow the steps:
    1. open my computer and on the address bar paste the path: %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations
    2. press CTRL + a
    3. press SHIFT + DELETE and delete the entire folder
I think the respective windows Explorer jump list is one that begins with 1b4dd67f29cb1962, in which case you do not want to delete the list of every jump in the folder. If you use firefox, download a file and then go to the above mentioned path and view the files by date. The most recent file must be the correspondent with firefox.

  • xw9400: xw9400. Pinout of the need for the connectors of the case (no psu connectors, only those in the case)

I need the list of pins for various connectors case-Strip pin, especially J24 but other multispindle those too.

Manual of Tyan S2915 Board for is a different version than that of poor quality that they OEM would be at HP for the 9400 and HP Tech Ref for the 9400 only provides pinouts for connectors well defined including pinout lie anywhere.

The connector of the Panel before xw9400 J34 (there is no J24) pinout, the mother, is map:

There are 2 key positions (lack of spindle) on pins 10 and 15.  Use these empty pins to help identify the signals.

The pinout is very similar to other former workstations HP.  A few tips:

-Pins 1 and 3 are for the harddrive activity led.

-Terminals 2 and 4 are for the power light.  HP systems have back to back LED connected between these pins.  A green is on and functioning normal and red lights (and flashes error codes) when there are errors.

-Connect a momentary between pins 5 and 6 switch will turn on the computer and off.

-Connection of a momemtary between pins 7 and 8 switch will force a system reset.

-PIN 9 is designated as + 5V, but it is powered by a 100 ohm pullup resistor to + 5V, so it will not provide a lot of power.  FOR INFO.

-SPKR + and SPKR - are for the internal speaker.

Most of the other connectors xw9400 follow standards of industry, i.e. the IDE drive and floppy connectors.

  • Satellite A200-1CR - black screen and no boot

    Model:
    Toshiba Satellite A200-1CR

    Question:
By pressing the power button to power on the computer for a full boot, the power LED lights up but still black screen (not even of lighting). The logo led 'Satellite' in the lower left corner of the chassis remains off while the HARD drive has made a unique quick snap; DVD activity led (the device) always remains on even without any CD inserted, by pressing the eject button do nothing (status bar is locked) and no sounds of activity.
No logo screen of boot (show stays), not of beeps dark and wide, no DVD or HARD disk activity, keyboard seems does not (all combinations that should light up an led, capslock, numlock, etc, does nothing), the fan works.

I have already (without success) tried:
-Unlock the tray, insert the rescue CD and power on
-Remove the main battery and power on with AC adapter only
-Insert a bootable USB stick/external HARD drive

The computer worked as expected the day before and there has not been any kind of shock. Described is the situation I faced when I turned on the next time (only 24 hours later).

    What could be wrong?
    Thank you.

    > By pressing the power button to power on the computer for a full boot, the power led turns on but screen stays black

Well, looks like hardware problem; Maybe the memory problem or something serious with the mother or the CPU. It of really difficult to say what could cause this.
You can try to check the RAM modules.

  • Satellite L40 - nothing happens if I want to start it

I have a Toshiba Satelite L40 - 12z. If I want to start the laptop, nothing happens just the hd activity led flashes very quickly.

    What can be the problem?

    Hello

You are able to access the BIOS?
You see the Toshiba start screen at the beginning of the boot order?

If the Toshiba start screen does not appear then that would mean that the laptop didn't pass the POST (power on self test) and that would mean that a serious hardware problem has been detected.
A serious hardware problem could be a motherboard fault, RAM, etc.

    Hello
Since the 6.4.1 update my leftovers of readynas on the "Boot" message... »
with the activity LED sets and the power light blinks slowly.
A ping from the pc has a positive return, but the administration page is not
accessible from a browser. Raidar utility doesn't detect any device.
How to connect to the Nas to perform a rollback of the update?
    Best regards.

    Hello

After contact with the media, the cause has been found. Too many shots that cause a disturbance during the tio 6.4.1 update. By hand cannot delete pictures it took after the SIN starts in read-only mode, back up all data and perform a factory reset in version 6.4.1. To reboot and after checking the volume of reynchronisation, the NAS is fully operational again.

  • ReadyNas Ultra 2 Bootmenu selection does not

    Hello

I was informed by my NAS (RNDU2220) that a new firmware is available which I have tried to install via the "Remote Installation" option of the WebGUI interface. At first things went well, Raidar said that an update is performed. After updating the device unbootable, when I press the power that only the blue activity Led turns on, no LED drive. I thought that something was wrong and that he has decided to perform the operation to reinstall OS. It is absolutely crucial that I have do not lose data wherever I didn't do a factory full reset, just reinstall the OS.

Up to this so bad... I followed the guide as described here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/21100

I managed to get the SIN to the State where all the LIGHTS are on, and now I'm supposed to scroll the boot menu options by pressing the Save on the front button. But when I press this button at all nothing happens, which means that no change in configuration of LED and all 4 LEDs stay lit no matter how much times I press the backup button or for how long I hold, or all 4 lights are extinguished after a simple click on the button Save and only the blue activity LED is turned on with the FAN running at high speed. Network is not activated at this stage so Raidar does not see my SIN no more.

What I am doing wrong, how can I leave the NAS reinstall the OS without a factory reset when bootoptions selection does not work? Is there a way to Flash the OS on USB without the need to choose a startup option, and without losing the data on the disks?

    Any help is highly appreciated

First have you checked if you use the latest version of the BIOS?
    Please check this!

On the European driver Toshiba page you will always find the latest BIOS and divers.

Secondly, I would recommend disabling more upward on LAN option in the BIOS and in properties (device-> LAN properties-> Advanced tab management) LAN card

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-400Y no video output.

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-400Y computer that I had stored (unplugged) in a bedroom closet bedroom for almost a year.  It was working fine when I put it in storage.

This past weekend, I wanted to use, so I plugged in and connected to an analog VGA monitor well known on the integrated motherboard video VGA analogue connector.  When I turned on, there is no video on the monitor.  I searched the HP support site and found a statement that said "built into the graphics card or the card PCI Express x 16 slot are usable at once; they are not usable at the same time. "This computer came with a 5450 PCI express X 16 video card installed.

However, the 5450 PCI express X 16 video card only has a digital DVI and I wanted to use a loose analog VGA monitor.  So I powered it turned off and physically removed the 5450 PCI express X 16 video card.  Then I unplugged the power cord and removed the CMOS battery for a few minutes.  Then I replaced the battery and applied again to power.

I still do not get all analog VGA video out of the motherboard, not even the BIOS messages it is first energized.

I also tried to integrated edge connector with a DVI equipped, monitor.  Still, there is no video output.

So I removed the power and re-installed the 5450 PCI express X 16 video card that has only a DVI connector.  I connected to a monitor DVI equipped and applied again to power.  There is still no video output was two well-known instructors.

When I turn on the computer, the fan power works, processor and fans of casing run, the blue led on the switch is lit and not blinking.  The Green LED on the motherboard is on.  The Green orange and activity led Ethernet link light are on.  There are no beeps.  I can hear the hard drive starts to work.  I have no video output.

I use a HP USB keyboard and a USB mouse.  The red LED at the bottom of the mouse is not on.  The shift lock and lock lights number do not light when you press the corresponding key.

This computer has spent more time of storage that it has been used.  It worked even when stored in a bedroom closet in bedroom.  I checked all the wire connections on the motherboard, with no improvement.

I would like any suggestions to get this working of the computer.  I wonder if the motherboard has somehow that went wrong.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello Big Dave,

Thank you for answering my question / problem.

I am aware that I can not use an analog VGA connection on the motherboard for a digital DVI input on my LCD monitor and vice versa.  I tried two different montors both analog and digital connections on the motherboard.  I tried to communicate clearly, but I guess that I don't have.

It is unimportant, now that I've found that HP recognizes that my computer model had a drawing or a manufacturing defect that causes the exact symptoms I am having.  There is here a link to HPs extended warranty program that describes the patterns and symptoms:
