constant activity SG 300-52

We recently bought a sg300-52.  I was told that I needed to configure a trunk port to connect our main catalyst.  However, I could connect a cable connection on both devices and features of endpoint of ping on both switches.  I also noticed that the activity lights blink continuously.  I don't know why.  Is there something I can do to slow the light activity?  It blicks constantly even in times of very low activity by the endpoint.

Hi Curtis,.

Other traffic such as broadcast traffic will take place in the vlan and it will spread on the uplinks for devices in the same vlan...  You can be the witness of uplink and activity blinking activity light may be the PC at the same time.

See the below shot wireshark capture screen of my PC.  It shows about 7percent of the traffic was aired or broadcast related traffic that will be distributed to all the switch ports in the same vlan. looking carefully at this capture 10 second notice that 9.43% of my traffic are regular layer 2 old ARP packets.  I'm not concerned.

Traffic broadcast and multicast in one vlan is normal.  Abnormal, is when there is perhaps too much of this traffic (thousands of packets per second) may be due to a kind of denial of service attack or bad NIC card. If video multicast is floating around, you can see thousands of packets per second for each stream video multicast.

If you worry, unless there is a denial of service attach going on.  Your symptoms indicate, however, that the activity LED flashes, sounds normal. If this light is almost always or flashes continuously with the biggest, then it is a wireshark trace to see what might happen.

regards Dave.

Taking wireshark and get an idea of the speed of traffic that hits the switch. I believe that the broadcast traffic rate should not be too big.

  • Constant activity with L7780 wireless

I have an Officejet Pro L7780 all-in-One connected to my Linksys router wireless WPA2. My computer runs Windows XP Pro SP3 and is wired to the router.

I can print, etc. very well, but it seems to be almost constant activity communication between my computer and the printer - even when I'm not feeling. I can see the flashing lights on my router which tell me that my PC is in talks with the printer every few seconds. I can see corresponding activity on my PC Ethernet connection as well.

I have the HP Digital Imaging Monitor running in my region notofication.

My question is: is this activity of almost constant communication between my PC and the normal printer? I've never seen anything like this with any other printer or printers cable I can get through the router as a network printer shared. If the activity is not normal, how can I get it settled and only communicate when I print something?

    Thank you.

the Monitor (DIM) digital imaging queries the printer regularly to update the status of the printer. in this way it can give you notice, if the printer is offline, or if the printer is having problems. If it affects the performance of your computer of your internet speed, so it's something to be worried, although no such problems have been reported before.

  • The constant hard disk - system and DiagnosticAgent.exe wrote to 300 different activity. Files of the PNF at a constant rate - starting programs negatively impaired.

Something similar to this began after a time, I was installing updates (somewhere in June or July). A month later, after I installed SP2 via the update, the problem presented differently (just as bad). Here's what I found recently of the reliability monitor and performance:

    -DiagnosticAgent.exe > C:/windows/inf/infcache.0 = wr 1.5 MB/min x 2 (constant) (sometimes up to 6 x)

-System > loads of instances (~ 500) on. The files of the PNF in C:\Windows\inf\ =
    mainly writing<100kB in="" but="" some="" write="" up="" to="">
-Diagnosticagent.exe > loads of instances (~ 500) on. The files of the PNF in C:\Windows\inf\ =
    mainly writing<100kB in="" but="" some="" write="" up="" to="">

(total of instances of 1000 files .pnf; 300 different ones, several up to 12 instances of the same .pnf, half of them at least 4 instances of the same .pnf.)

I don't see many cases playback from the hard drive. Even at 100% highest active time, the graph of the disc in the performance bed also monitor, an average of only 2 Mbps. When Disk Defragmenter is running, it is an average of 50 MB/s.

This constant HDD activity about 1000 cases write in 30 minutes continuous .pnf files after startup and after awakening from sleep. While that happens, most of the programs, after loading, do not react for 5 minutes, then run as usual. Even the message control user account often fails to appear before it expires (in 2 minutes) during this time.

I tried Googling on hdd constant activity on the PNF files, but did not find much.

I will try using the restoration of the system again, although I had a few unsuccessful attempts with her.

I have Norton Antivirus installed, which scans for viruses periodically. It is not really the cause of this unknown and unusual hard disk activity I know.

  • Windows 8-64 'System' process shows the constant hard disk activity

Windows 8 system process shows a constant activity of hard disk (as shown in the resource monitor); read and write, but write.   (Lenovo T420, i7, 8 GB ram, disk full of ~ 40%).  This slows down the performance of the computer to a standstill.  No obvious reason why this should happen... nothing unusual current execution, only IE and Word + other normal stuff (files, Windows Defender history, etc.).  Can't all the time.  Seems to begin this behavior when switching users, or restart.  Can allow the computer to run for hours without solving this problem of disk write constantly.  Sometimes, but not always, the restart will also solve this problem.  Sometimes reboot seems to cause this behavior start.   Very annoying because it inhibits all operations of PC and its use.

    DELETED Comodo Internet Security.
    Restarted the computer.
Installed Comodo Firewall ( NOT Internet Security, ONLY the firewall).
    Restart computer
    Activated
Windows Defender from the center of the Action.
    Update Windows Defender online.
    Problem solved.
If you guys are using Comodo internet security, remove and check.
If you're not, there is probably an another 3rd party application which is the cause, probably badly tested safety related application.
    Good luck.

  • unchecked active iTunes songs after launch (without asking)

Whenever I run iTunes the first time after starting the PC, it is active about 300 songs I listened long (so I disabled, but they were always in my library).

It seems to be watched iTunes all my purchases and activated/checked again without asking.

When I restore my library, it takes only a few seconds, and the songs are here again.

I unchecked all automatically download the settings and so on, I also disabled Genius.

I don't want to delete my songs, I want to stay disabled. I also fear that they came upward then as checked and downloadable. I also uninstalled all components of iTunes in the right order, but it did not help either.

I don't know what to do, and I have not found anyone else with this crazy problem.

This seems to be a 'feature' of the current generation. If all goes well it will be set to the following. At the same time making a playlist of tracks that should be deselected, so if they are checked once again you can ctrl-click all checked in the list to uncheck all the.

  • The disk of light and SDS Cache activity

I have a relatively new W530 with the installed at the factory 16GB drive HARD drive cache and the ExpressCache software (working properly according to the Lenovo-recommended test). I want to know if the drive activity light shows HD activity only or also SDS hides.

My observation is that for a long time the drive activity light is on permanently. The first time that this has happened, the warranty support told me that the HD failed and sent me a new. (They don't seem to know anything on the internal tables of health HD I thought existed and could be interrogated with a special software). Anyway, this seemed to solve the problem for a few months, but it is recurring lately.

Looking again at the Task Manager/Performance tab/Resource Monitor tab / Disk, I can see that the larger disk of the user's ExpressCache service (as it was the first time). I stopped this service and set it to manual, and the constant activity stopped shortly after. He has not re-emerged in the last hour or two. Although the light is off now (for the most part), I still don't really know what that means; the first question remains...

No matter what light you can pour on the light function (no pun intended) disk activity would be appreciated! -JCW2

  • Excessive activity of hard disk type/model 3000 N200

The HD of my laptop shows an almost constant activity, even if I'm NOT WORKING on it. This situation is very unpleasant and I think not a normal situation.  I did all of the upgrades to the laptop the last level, without any improvement on this issue.  Can anyone tell me what I can do to stop this excessive activity of the HD, or is this normal this type/model?

Hello, thanks for your response. If you can give me the details to solve the problem, Windows Vista is the original, I'd be very happy. When I'm not able to make my own changes, my son will do the trick! Thank you in advance for your help!

  • MX200 reception calls mystery

We have a MX200 which lies outside our firewall outside parties can call the MX200.  It is a new system and since I installed it first, I noticed that after a day or two, I saw a lot of calls missed the newspaper calls.  I don't know whether or not they are real calls.  It should not be someone call this system because I did not the IP of someone still and it's mostly just to test for now.  So many missed calls in the newspaper appeal seems bizarre and suspicious to me.  I never see the IP address who or what is supposed to be calling our MX200.  What I see is what looks like a number of post like 300 or 1000 or something like that, followed by our own IP address.  I had assumed, there would be a way to see what IP address of end until now was for all those who are challenging our unit, but I guess that's not really true?  Is there a way I can find the IP address of anything that attempts to connect to our MX200?

See the attached screenshots for examples.  There are multiple entries for each code.  For example, 4 lack of recent calls of the ID of '300'.  If I look at this particular entry, it shows me only 300 @ our IP address.  Does this mean something tries to reach 300 @ our IP or does this mean the end ID is 300, and called our IP address?   I see no other IP not listed in one of these missed calls other than our own intellectual property.

Any ideas?  I would be suspicious about this activity?  Any way to determine what IP is actually trying to call in / connect to our MX200?  At the very least, it would be very annoying, even if it is not really doubtful, because if I put this device in a conference room and suddenly the screen saver turns off and the light blue display lights and there is a call sounds, it disturbs and confuse anyone who is in this room for a meeting.  I disabled the auto-answer so there is no danger of the automatic connection calls and a person being able to move the camera and discover the surroundings, but nevertheless, I think that this constant activity "missed calls" is strange and suspicious.

Any intellectual property you see hidden in my screenshots is our own intellectual property and I blacked out for broadcast on the web here.

    Thank you

You do not say if they are the SIP or H.323 calls, but apart from that, it fit with the scans that we have all seen and still see, and which have been mentioned in this forum a number of times, take a look at

  • Questions of Touchpad on Satellite P10-304

    Hello

Recently, my touchpad started to malfunction. If I move my finger on it constantly when starting it works fine under windows, but inactivity for a second round causes freeze it. If I close and then restart apoint.exe, it works as long as there is a constant activity on the pavement.

First of all, I uninstalled the drivers, then installed the latest versions. This does not solve the problem. Then, rather excessively I formatted the hard drive, the reinstalled windows and drivers, it does not solve the problem.

I would say that it was clearly a hardware failure, but it works perfectly, as long as there is a constant activity, and when it does not freeze, restart apoint.exe sorts it until the next idle!

  • PC does not go on standby mode

    Hello

I have a strange problem with my Pavilion (Vista 64 bit): it just won't go/stay in stand-by mode.

Whenever I go through start panel into position mode it seems to go through the process of orders-by only're - wake up' the very next second pressing strongly it's fans and check the dvd player (no matter if there is a CD-ROM/dvd-rom in it or not).

Same thing happens whenever I'm away from the PC long enough for him to enter standby mode automatically. He tries to stand by again after a certain period of time without ever stay in stand-by.

I had the problem since I bought the PC a few months - but having already had to return to the first person that I bought right away I didn't go through the hazzle and take the second return - once again.

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

    Sorry for the late reply.

The question that you mentioned usually caused if the network adapter is set to wake the computer from sleep. If you are usign an always on Internet connection then there will be a constant activity in the network card and it wakes you up the PC as soon as you put in mode 'sleep'.

Please, check the following and verify that the settings are correct.

-Press the Windows logo and the R button to open the control box run.

-Type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK.

-It will open up the Device Manager.

-Click on + sign next to network card and right click on the name of the adapter listed.

-Select properties, then click the power management tab.

-If the option "Allow this device to wake up the PC" is checked, uncheck the box that and click Ok.

Try to put the PC to sleep/wake and check if it is in "standby mode".

I would like to know if the procedure worked. Give Kudos if it works.

  • Acer switch Alpha 12 - Horrible battery life

I got the new Acer for a few weeks now and am totally disappointed with the battery life.  Pushing I can get maximum about 2½ hours before the battery to recharge.  This is without doing anything difficult for Acer.  Brightness is 25% and I lost about 35% per hour.  This is not normal, it can?  Anyone who suffers from the same ridiculous autonomy?  Apart from that I am quite satisfied.

Definitely not normal. Mine lasts several hours on battery. Start with the normal checks, just to make sure that you do not run with its brightness best of all time and others, then look at what you have running, constant activity network (as with bittorrent running) will suck the battery.

  • My mouse stops Microsoft 3500 work/Black before batteries run out?

When I got my mouse (Microsoft 3500) I noticed a weird problem after like 2 or 3 days. I took out the batteries at night and when I went to insert in the morning, the blue laser flashing down once and they immediately black. After the light turns off, the pointer of my computer would not move. I continued to take the battery in and out until I saw the blue light and several times she went out immediately after his arrival. To get the blue light, I had to play with the position of the battery a lot, sometimes it will not appear if I push the battery completely into the socket, I have to get out a bit. I understood that once the blue light came I could move the pointer on my computer but once it has darkened, my pointer would freeze. So after that I noticed that, I found that if the blue light was, and I moved my finger on the blue light, sometimes if I could get a constant activity on the pointer for about 10 seconds, the light would stay and I could use my mouse normally.

Its been several months that I bought Microsoft mouse and I learned to use the trick of moving the mouse around every time I had the blackout. There, I noticed that the problem seems to occur more often when the batteries are low and if I inserted a new battery, the mouse is good. Today, I couldn't get the mouse works no matter how many times I tried a constant activity on this subject. What has happened a few times and I guess it was because of the battery is almost dead now (there is still a light blue fast however). But since I ran out of batteries, I took an old Logitech mouse and put the batteries. And guess what? The Logitech mouse works very well with the old battery flat!
So now I wonder... My mouse is defective? This started happening shortly after my purchase, so perhaps my mouse has a type of bad contact with the batteries. Or it is common on the Microsoft mouse and there just problems with low battery? If someone has a Microsoft wireless mouse and their mouse out blacks, try reseating the battery and running your finger on the blue light if there is place. Thank you.

  • Gohan or remove alerts

    Hello

I searched for awhile to find answers to two questions that I have been troubling with respect vCOps.

    1. I see some users report errors of resource adapter like this:

"31 resource receives no data of this resource adapter.

It is made by one of the vCenters in our environment and to date has been active for 300 days. Now another identical alert (81 resources instead of 31) is active for 112 days.

I can't clear the alert when I try to do, I have the dialog box "select fault '. Some users report having to change the license to the company to get the custom ui to clear these and also specify that the engineering work on fixing it. But it was in 5.7.2. We run 5.8.2, a fix would be nice.

Does anyone know how to clear these another way?

    2. I was suspending alerts the other day and then, by chance, I hit delete instead of suspension. Having not noticed at the beginning (the dialogues are almost identical) I type in 1440, as I did in the dialog box suspends. As soon as I hit enter in my eyes register he said days and not minutes. Damn...

I lost some alerts for a group of servers since 1440 days. Anyway to undo that? As a point of view of alerts lost?

    Thank you in advance.

    1. These alerts will be displayed when the data source resources stop provide a measure, which can be a VM is powered / become not available for monitoring or otherwise not be able to report performance measures. The user interface customized mainly how to manage them, or if you were really motivated, you could do a query of postgres. I hope that this will change the major release versions in the future.

    2. you can view alerts deleted or suspended in the custom UI Alerts Overview. There is a filter for this category of alerts at the top

  • Audio time expansion / compression

I work in a broadcast environment (radio). We use hearing CS6 in all our production studios. All the outputs of the hearing must be 16-bit or WAV or MP3 files with a sampling frequency of 44100 Hz, stereo. Promotions and underwriting announcements are generally 30 seconds and, occasionally, 60 seconds in length. Another range of segments from several minutes to a maximum of 58 minutes. Whatever the length, it must be accurate. For example a half hour segment targeted to run for 29:00.000 may end up 28:57.043 or 29:03.495. How can I expand or compress the time of a session without changing the pitch? Sessions can be simple mono tracks or tracks multichannel stereo. It became an urgent situation for us due to the installation of a new system of automation that requires accurate hours and does not provide this functionality of squeeze / expansion of time.

If you open the file in the waveform display, and then open the effects > time and Pitch > Stretch and Pitch (process)... you can easily stretch or shrink a file to a specific length of time without height adjustment.  Make sure that the 'Stretch and Pitch Shift (Resample) Lock' is NOT checked to avoid pitching change.  Since you'll be stretching to a length, you can check the 'Locking Stretch to the new duration settings' option as well.

When recording, it is best to save as uncompressed WAV file where length will be more precise and the compression artifacts will not be a problem.  However, if you save it in MP3 format, be sure to save with the "Constant" active Type parameter.  Variable bit rate can shake the algorithms used to determine the length of a file.
