  • Printer E2000 and Brother MFC - 9330 CDW problem?

I have a router E2000, which I think is hard to connect to / wake my printer Brother MFC - 9330 CDW.  I attributed to a static IP address and when I run the network status of the LCD of the printer it is said that it is connected to my network and everything is correct.  But I can't ping from my Windows 7 computer, which is connected to the same WLAN.

I can also print using my phone, connected on the WLAN, using the Brother printer app so maybe that's not the E2000. I don't know if it access the printer just like my pc.

But if I reboot the E2000, my Win 7 machine can connect to the printer in a first time, but at some point - usually minutes but it may be days - the connection is lost and I can't seem to restore without having to reboot the router.  Restart the computer or the printer reset the connection.  The only way around this is to restart the router then immediately open Control Panel on the printer to my pc and let it open, maintain a connection with the printer, which is obviously not very convenient.

I tried to reinstall the firmware for the router, which is the latest version, and I also have the latest firmware installed on the printer.  I also removed and then reinstalled the printer several times in my control panel when you add a printer.

I'm not that techy, so I know what else to try.  If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you.

I recommend that you connect the printer to the router with an Ethernet cable. The IMO is always the most reliable connection for network printers. The mobile application can directly connect to the broadcast wireless to the printer without going through the router all together.

  • 5 GHz E2000 problem

I just bought an E2000 to my home network.  Without real difficulty so far except that when I try to change the band 5 GHz, that seems not to broadcast.  Neither of my active N laptops see the router.

is there another setting I need to change?

Most likely your portable computer does not support Band 5 GHz. 802.11n does not mean that he supports the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

What wireless cards you have in your laptop? Or check out the specifications. If the wireless card is compatible with 802.11b/g/n, then, it does not support 5 GHz. only if the wireless card is compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n it will work as well on 5 GHz.

  • E2000 brick? Blinking light question

My E2000 worked without a single problem until I moved. Then I went to plug set up again once and his exploded. I tried a 30/30/30 reset, but it does not work, sometimes the power light stays on with a contraction of flicker or it will blink just quickly. I tried the ftp solution to put the firmware on it, but the program cannot communicate with the wireless router. When I try to ping, it will return either a "request timed out" or "destination host unreachable". What is there to do? Thank you for your time.

It ends up being a bad diet. The router is perfectly fine.

  • Cisco Connect connects to the router E2000

I got an E2000 router, set up and works very well for years. Today, I tried to connect with Cisco Connect, I want to establish a network of separate comments (by the way, if there's a way to do this through the web management interface, please let me know!). However, the software is unable to connect to the router; the progress bar gets to 25%, and then eventually times out. I tried several computers on network, cable and wireless, with the same results. Any suggestions? Thank you!

I solved the problem; I activated the setting "Allow users to set up" in the "Administration" tab, as well as utility access Web via HTTP. I don't know which of these settings did the trick, but I was able to connect and configure the network invited (even from a PC wireless).

  • Setting up Port Forwarding on both routers E2000 for the Slingbox PRO - HD

I bought recently a Slingbox PRO - HD and the software of the iPad in HD mode on my iPad when I'm away from home.  When I install the Slingbox using their setup program web-based, he pointed out that I don't have my network configured to optimize performance for the visualization of the internet, which is what I need for the iPad.  I think that I don't have the port forwarding for port 5001 set up properly on my system.  I can connect successfully to my Slingbox away from home on my iPad and my laptop, but the performance is indeed poor.

I have a modem cable and two routers E2000.  The first E2000 is connected to a modem cable into my home office and the second E2000 is in my home theater.  I used Cisco Connect on separate computers to configure two routers.  Here are the details:

    Cable modem:
    Scientific Atlanta
    Model DPX2203 series
    Part number 4006351
"Ethernet" connected to the "Internet" Router 1 connection.

    Router 1:
    Cisco Linksys
    Model E2000
    IP 192.168.1.1
    Wireless enabled.
'Internet' connected to the modem cable.
    Connections 'Ethernet ':
    1 Seagate drive network storage
    2 desktop PC
    3 desktop PC
    4. the Router 2

    Router 2:
    Cisco Linksys
    Model E2000
    IP 192.168.2.1
    Wireless enabled
'Internet' connected Router 1 "Ethernet 4'.
    Connections 'Ethernet ':
    1 Slingbox PRO - HD
    2 desktop PC
    3 A / V Receiver
    4 Blu - ray player

How to configure the port forwarding for Slingbox PRO - HD on port 5001?  Also, what is the best way to configure two routers E2000 so that I can use as wireless access points?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I would recommend using the second E2000 as an access point only. Which simplifies and facilitates also the transmission much:

0 unplug the E2000 second the first. Connect a computer to the second E2000. Open the web interface to http://192.168.2.1/
    1. change the address LAN IP of the second E2000 to 192.168.2.1. on 192.168.1.2.
    2. turn off the DHCP server on the same page.
    3. save the settings.
    4. disconnect the computer and son, one of the LAN ports of the second E2000 for the first E2000.

For other ports LAN to get an ethernet switch.

Now, all you have to do is to set up the port forwarding on the first E2000.

  • E2000 reset, now does not connect

Then, I had problems with my HTPC the E2000 connection. I had an old D-link router + Wireless N USB adapter, but after the death of the Dlink, I bought the E2000 and upgraded to a faster N adapter. In any case, connection had been fragmented by using WPA/WPA2 encryption. I had a few better speeds wireless turned off completely. I couldn't leave it open, though, as there are tons of laptops around my apartment that eventually connect to my network. Using this particular adapter wireless connection continued to give problems. Two blackberries more a Nookcolor connect without any problem (maybe because they are wireless-G, who knows).

I then decided to reset the router simply hold the reset button, as I did on all of the other routers. It is reset and restart, but when she came back, it would connect is the internet. I have connected directly to a modem and works fine, but when I connect to the router... nothing. I did a hard reset (30, 30, 30) and erased everything, it seemed. The HTPC now links easily, but there is still no internet connection. This turns out to be very frustrating.

Is there something I could have done wrong by doing this first reset? Anyway is set up to retrieve my internet connection? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Well either you did or you have not who is?  You know that you completely reconfigure the router once you press the reset button, as if it was new.

    Go here for cable connection.

    Go here for DSL connection.

  • Linksys E2000 to into acccess point/switch helps.

Okay so here's the deal, we got At & T Modem/Router upstairs, and then we had a long cable ethernet connecting here in the basement. The problem is that this allows only a connection to the local network at the same time (a problem for LAN parties and others). I do have a Linksys E2000 router however and I want to be able to use it as a switch access point.
I'm sure this is possible, but I forgot all the steps to do so.
The att modem/router is running on 192.168.1.254 and my Linksys that is directly connected is on 192.168.1.1, so I have another address in this field.
What I need to change my Linksys settings now, or do I have to change the settings for at & t?
Basic steps would be appreciated, but I am familiar with the concepts of normal network, so you mustn't it level by the low that much.
Also I will use this for Xbox Live at points so will I need to re - open all the ports on my Linksys, or at least put the DHCP to static IP Xbox to keep my NAT good?

    Thank you

  • Linksys E2000 together at 5 GHz stops transmitting SSID and becomes undetectable to 5 Ghz AC580

Bought a USB wireless adapter dual band AC 580 today and set the channel to "5G" only mode I put my E2000 (firmware 1.0.04)is) to 5 GHz, made sure the SSID broadcast is turned on. The wireless adapter appears as a peripheral AE6000 in windows 8.1. Version of the driver is reported to be 5.1.2.0.

Now what is happening, is that the wireless adapter can see several access points - as my Experia H368N ZTE, which is allegedly not even capable of 5 GHz (and able to connect!). What is fails to detect is however my E2000. I have no idea what is the cause. I tried changing various settings WLAN (network mode, channel, even changed the SSID just to see if that makes a difference) that my USB wireless adapter is able to see other points of access (neighbouring) and able to connect with the ZTE, I think that the problem is with the E2000, not the AC580. I hesitate to change other parameters other than channel mode. Can someone advise?

    SOLVED

Thanks for all the suggestions, even if she did not help. If anything, it made me write the passage "God forbid" on the USB AE6000 adapter. Which made me think. As a final check, I tried the LinkSys on the AE6000 forum. And I discovered that this driver is the issue - in association with win8.1. The AE6000 chipset manufacturer has a newer driver (5.1.17.0 June 2014) availabe for windows 8.1, I downloaded, installed and suddenly the wifi adapter can identify 5 GHz networks. Changed the setting on the E2000 to 5 GHz and it works like a charm now. Until at least 5.1.10.0 (my only previous) version of the driver AE6000, 5GZH did not work under windows 8.1. There you go. Should not be blaming my E2000 of 4.5 years, robust. :-)

  • E2000 + XBOX Live moderate NAT =... help please

I know that this topic was beaten as a dead horse, but I still need help. I followed these instructions and double checked.

On the Configuration tab change the size of the MTU to 1365, then click on save settings...
Click the 'Administration' tab and disable the UPnP option and click on save settings...
Click on the tab "Games and Applications" and then click the sub-tab "Port Range Forwarding"...
    (1) on the first line in the box, type Application in ABC, in the start box, type in 53 and type in 3074 service box, leave the Protocol as and under type 192.168.1.20 ip address and check the box to enable, click on save settings once it's been...
    (2) once you return to the game to the top page, click the Security tab and uncheck block anonymous Internet requests and click on save settings...
    (3) click on the status tab, and then note the DNS1 and DNS2 addresses...
    4) go to the XBox network settings and IP address settings, select manual IP settings and assign the following operations on your Xbox
    IP address:-192.168.1.20, subnet mask:-255.255.255.0 default gateway:-192.168.1.1...
    (5) also assign addresses DNS on Xbox
Use DNS1 and DNS2 addresses you took note of the primary router as secondary DNS & DNS status tab for the xbox...
    (6) turn off your modem, router and Xbox... Wait a minute...
    (7) plug the power to the modem first, wait a minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and... test it connects...

The Xbox has connected, but I always get a moderat NAT and I'm not sure why. The xbox is suggesting I open the UPnp... but just maybe it's a generic solution.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

    You have a few options.

    1. use the bridge instead of router

    2. Requests Comcast to allow you to use a residential modem instead of the SMC.

    3. use the DMZ to set the router on the gateway firewall.

    4. my personal favorite, ask ComcastLarry to set the bridge mode bridge for you so that the E2000 works as the router. For this option, look at the 37th post

I just bought an E2000 and I have Cisco Connect does not work on OS x Lion, and I was unable to find it on support downloads. But it is only a comment, my concern is that I'm not able to see on the main menu, the number of DHCP clients is connected, nor of course to check their traffic. All other routers usually provide at least the DHCP clients. Did I miss something? is it possible to access this information?

    Brenda,

I double checked before posting this response and I have a hardware problem. The cable between the router and the modem seems to be wired incorrectly explaining why 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps. I'll close the post.
