E4200 V1 1.05 firmware https vs http...

I decided to try to activate http and https. With https if. Using the latest version of Firefox, btw. Why is it so extremely slow in the firmware with gui? Once I disable https and return to the default setting of the http protocol. Gui firmware moves very quickly to new and responsive.

The reason why it is slow when you use https is that each application/data flows on a secure way. Each package/application is examined carefully for potential security threat.

What is the status of the STRANGE in Device Manager?
Are there any yellow exclamation marks?

I recommend you remove/clear the STRANGE since the Device Manager.
Then start the registry and delete the upper and lower registry key filters:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  • Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE7): failed to update the firmware Vista

    Hello

I tried tp update the firmware of my HD-DVD player with new firmware TO35 (SD-L802B), but it is not possible. The upgrade of this Winvup button is not selectable. I had the same problem with an older firmware, but I just thought that it was because the firmware is up-to-date (book is 1 month old).

Winvup shows my drive as "TOSHIBA DVGW/HD SD-L802B TO01 (26/10/07). The discription of To35 said, he needs a version of TO33 or T034, that is the problem?

I got this firmware update form [link firmware: http://de.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=DE&mode=allMachi nes & action = search & teddProduct = 737]
so, it should be the right one.

So what can I do to upgrade my drive? Watching a HD DVD is not possible :(

    THX,
    Holger

It is not possible to update the firmware on your SD-L802B drive because the firmware released on the Toshiba page deigned for the TS-L802A drive.
Do not mix these two discs! It is not the same thing!

I found this site on the engraver of DVD Super-Multi SD-L802B
    http://www.storage.Toshiba.EU/index.php?id=3&PID=221

But according to this page, the firmware is not available for this driver (at this time?  :|)

I need to install an update of firmware for my Designjet 920F which is NOT on a network or on the cloud.

I downloaded the new file on a single computer and loaded to the stand-alone computer.

    Now what?

With the help of a USB key. Download the firmware from http://www.hp.com/go/T920/firmware , http://www.hp.com/go/T1500/firmware , http://www.hp.com/go/T2500/firmware , or http://www.hp.com/go/T3500/firmware file (depending on your printer model) into the USB flash drive and insert it into the USB Hi-Speed host port in the façade. A firmware update wizard appears on the front panel to guide you through the update process.

Of course, if you have already downloaded a flash drive, you can omit that part.

  • Hard drive firmware update - Active shock protection

Hi, I discovered that Lenovo provides upgrades firmware for 2.5-inch HDDs to be compatible with the system of Active protection against shock, parks the head on the violent movement.

I have a Lenovo T60 and want to put in a 120 GB Hitachi.
Here is the output of the tool (Linux) hdparm for my Hitachi drive:
Model is Hitachi HTS541612J9SA00, FwRev is SBDOC70P, SerialNo = SB2D03E4GRLXA

This page here has a list of supported hard drives for an update of the firmware.
    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-62282

They don't list my exact harddrive, but they list the HTS5416xxJ9AT00. So my hard drive has a "character near the end of the model name.

My question is, is supported in my hard drive? I'll try to update the firmware using the Lenovo software? Thank you

If I understand correctly your drive and any other SATA drive that fits in the Bay should work with the EPA. I think I just read a more technical discussion on this more to the section of the thinkpads.com, notebookreview lenovo or another thread here (they all blur after a while) but I'm too lazy to go hunt it upward at the moment. If I turn on again, I'll come back and post a link

    From notebookreview (courtesy of SSNSEAWOLF):

    Indeed, it will work.

Protection against shocks using a built-in accelerometer that detects when your laptop is declining and then sends a command to stop your hard drive (Park its heads), just as if you were having turned off the computer and stop the hard drive.

Thus, there is nothing special you need from your hard drive, that all logical owner and material are inside the computer laptop itself. Any hard drive will work fine.

  • HP LaserJet 4250: Brick HP LaserJet 4250 after firmware update failed. Compact Flash card recovery options?

While performing an update of firmware via FTP using cURL, the HP LaserJet 4250 I worked has frozen. I had no choice but to cycle the power and hope for the best, but unfortunately it was bricked. The screen no longer lights upward when turned on (although I can hear the internal working mechanisms which is a good sign).

While doing some research, I read it is possible to buy a 32 MB CompactFlash card with preloaded firmware (http://bit.ly/1BTZGCh), put the jumper pin on the logic board to boot from it and then re-flashing the firmware on the card. Looks like a foolproof solution, but I would like to save my company some money if possible.

I was wondering if it is possible to use a Type I, 128 MB Compact Flash card I have handy and load the firmware above myself using a USB Compact Flash card reader/writer. Judging by what I read on another post on the forum (http://bit.ly/1GR6nM7), it seems possible to use a Unix/Linux utility such as JJ to clone another job Compact Flash card with preloaded firmware. However, I don't have such a card to clone. What I have is another HP LaserJet 4250 in working condition.

So that raises the question, is it possible to insert my own blank Compact Flash card in a HP LaserJet 4250 work and copy the firmware the logic board to the map image by using the printer control panel? I guess it would be the only way, if necessary, to get the firmware on the card.

However, if she is not the only way, is there an easier way to get the firmware on the card? For example, can I just format the card in FAT32 and copy the file to the RFU firmware to it and start the printer from him? Or the use of HP does it's own file system that is not readable on a PC? Also, would it be possible to use dd and simply copy the RFU directly on the card device believed himself (no file system) and boot from that?

Sorry for the barrage of questions. I tried to find the answers to all these myself, but HP doesn't seem to provide a lot of detailed documentation on works of the firmware via Compact Flash process. I'd be very happy if someone with experience could provide the answers well! Thank you.

Looks like I'll be solving my own number here haha. So after bit peicing together information from different positions and some experiences, I managed to save my LaserJet bricks!

To fix a HP LaserJet 4250 bricks, two things are necessary: an of Type I CompactFlash card and other HP LaserJet 4250 work. It's a common printer, chances are you'll find another around the office.

Here are the steps to fix the printer:

    1. The card CompactFlash Slot 1 (bottom slot) on board the logical work printer. Instructions on how to do so are provided by HP here: http://bit.ly/1NNyIol
    2. (May be optional) Initialize (format) the CompactFlash card by following the instructions on page 327 of the repair of HP LaserJet 4250 (http://bit.ly/1D22T7R)

      (a) turn off the power to the printer.
      (b) turn on the power to the printer and then press and hold the MENU button when begins the memory count.
      (c) continue to hold the button down until all the lights on control panel three printer flashes once and then remain lit. It may take up to 10 seconds.
      (d) press the BACK ARROW button. The display should INITIALIZE the DISK.
      (e) press Select (mark). The printer initializes the hard drive and continues its power on sequence.

    3. Now that the CompactFlash card is formatted, it is time to copy the NAND of the printer to work on the CompactFlash card.

      (a) turn off the power to the printer.
      (b) turn on the power to the printer and then press and hold CANCEL when begins the memory count.

    (c) continue to hold the button down until all the lights on control panel three printer flashes once and then remain lit. It may take up to 10 seconds.
    (d) press the SELECT button (check mark).
    (e) press the MENU button.
    (f) use the arrow to scroll until you see COPY BOOTLOADER IN SLOT2.
    (g) press SELECT, and the cursor should get the word BOOTLOADER. Use the arrows to change this to NAND.
    (e) press SELECT, and the cursor should get the word SLOT2. Use the arrows to change this to SLOT1.
    (f) press SELECT. The copy process must begin, and the status will appear on the screen.
    (g) once the process is complete, turn the printer off and remove the CompactFlash card.
  • Now that we have a working NAND on the CompactFlash card, it's time to restore to our printer masoned. Perform the following steps on the printer of bricks.

    (a) turn off the power to the printer.
    (b) Insert the CompactFlash card into Slot 1.
    (c) set the jumper on the System Board on the arrow to start from the CompactFlash card.
    (d) turn on the power to the printer and then press and hold CANCEL when begins the memory count.
    (e) continue now the button until all the lights on control panel three printer flashes once and then remain lit. It may take up to 10 seconds.
    (f) press SELECT (checkmark).
    (g) press the MENU button.
    (h) use the arrow to scroll until you see COPY BOOTLOADER IN SLOT2.
    (i) press SELECT, and the cursor should get the word BOOTLOADER. Use the arrows to change this to SLOT1.
    (j) press SELECT, and the cursor should get the word SLOT2. Use the arrows to change this to NAND.
    (k) press SELECT. The copy process must begin, and the status will appear on the screen.
    (l) once the process is complete, turn off the printer, remove the CompactFlash card and reposition the jumper to the default position.
    (m) turn on the power to the printer. That's all! Everything should work normally again. No brick no more!

  • UPDATE (07/04/15): IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANOTHER HP LASERJET 4250

It turns out that you can just download the firmware on HP website and create an image of it bootable on a CompactFlash card. However, it is not as simple as just copying the firmware image. You should ignore the 633 first bytes of the file of the firmware (at least with the 08.260.1 version), then copy the rest on a CompactFlash card. You can accomplish this by running the following command on Mac OS X or Linux. Download and boot from a live CD of Linux like Ubuntu if necessary.

    DD if = lj4240_4250_4350fw_08.260.1.rfu ibs = 1 skip = 633 of = / dev/disk2

Replace "lj4240_4250_4350fw_08.260.1.rfu" with the name of the appropriate firmware file and ' / dev/disk2 ' with the appropriate device if necessary.

If you prefer, a bootable copy of the revision of the 08.260.1 firmware can be downloaded here: http://bit.ly/1FeF3YP

As you can see in the image below, when opened with a hex editor, image downloaded from HP firmware starts with 1 b 25 31 2d bytes... However, the printer does not include the first part of the file when you start, because there are instructions of PJL and not binary. Bootable image begins at 631 byte (277 hex) highlighted. It may be possible that this address may change in future versions of firmware or for different printers, so here's how to know where to start the startup code. The first occurrence of 00 00 04 24 bytes, is where that starts. In ASCII, it looks to "... $". In this sequence, the 00 first is the beginning of the startup code. Here's another picture, of what should look like a bootable firmware image.

Non-bootable firmware image, downloaded directly from HP

Bootable firmware image, extracted of HP download

For fun, I unpacked it some of the files included in the firmware image, and it turns out that tracks on the printer to LynxOS. Who would have thought?

  • Filling of the memory-how firmware update to get rid?

Hello! I have 2 GB Sansa clip. Before the update, I had 12 albums and 2 language lessons with room for more information. I installed the update and it took all the memory. I know only have 5 1/2 albums and its maxed out. How can I empty this update and return to the original setting? I much prefer to have the room as this update. Thanks in advance for your help.

When you updated the USB mode recover.  Re-set-the mode you were using before, under settings, the USB Mode.

Not sure what filled the storage.  What you could do is to transfer your music to your computer; reformat under settings of the item; and then transfer your music from back.  That should resolve the issues.

To return to a previous firmware, re - apply just that package - see the sticky thread at the top of the forum firmware.  And here's a repository for earlier firmwares: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22669.

  • E4200 comments network does not

I can't get the network feature to work.

Even if the SSID is activated, it does not appear on all devices trying to connect. The connection manually entering the SSID comments fails (not recognized). On devices with the primary 5 and 2.4 GHz configured, they see the third network but without SSID (unknown) and also can connect manually using SSID.

    Here are my settings:

    Firmware: 1.0.02

E4200 is configured in bridge (WAP) mode.

    5 GHz network

    Mixed mode

    SSID Astro2-year

    Automatic width

    Channel Auto (DFS)

    Disabled SSID broadcast

    2.4 GHz network

    Mixed mode

    SSID Astro2-bgn

    Automatic width

    Auto channel

    Disabled SSID broadcast

    Guest access

    Enable Yes

    Name Astro2-bgn-comments (not editable)

    Password Guest testpassword

    Total authorized clients 5

    Enabled SSID broadcast

I was not looking for it before 1.0.02. Have restarted the modem and checked all the configs (several times). The network is online in an office and can not keep screwing with it or change its settings.

    Peter

This particular E4200 was bought with firmware 1.0.0 and then upgraded to 1.0.01 and finally updated to 1.0.02. I did not hard reset after the upgrade, just let yourself drift on the configs by firmware. See other problems in the forum resolved after upgrade by resetting hard, I gave a try. I printed all the pages of configuration and State, did a hard reset and then entered manually all configs exactly as they were. But now the network comments works and all is well. For those interested, the comments system is placed on a completely different subnet (19.168.33.0/24 compared to my normal LAN on 192.168.0.0/24). In addition, the E4200 is all private IP addresses routable while on the network of comments. This means that you can use the E4200 as a WAP mode bridge anywhere on your private subnet and guest users can only access the Internet routable. Very well! And to close the other question raise in this thread, you can leave the SSID disabled on the main networks 5 and 2.4 GHz and separately enable or disable comments network.

I suggest always to do a hard reset after firmware upgrade even if your settings seem to have postponed...

  • Linksys E4200 - Skype internet killing

    Hello

Recently, I went from a router D-Link GamerLounge for a new Linksys E4200 using the default firmware, upgraded to the latest version.

The router seems to work fine - except when someone uses Skype, and performance of the network decreases drastically. I have tested it with Skype running on a wireless laptop and test my Wired PC network. Here are the results of ping www.google.com with and without Skype:

    Without Skype (wired PC ping):

    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 132ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 83ms TTL = 46

    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 105ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 48ms TTL = 46

With Skype (running on the laptop wireless, PC ping wired):

    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 132ms TTL = 46
    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 83ms TTL = 46

    Reply from 74.125.113.103: bytes = 32 time = 48ms TTL = 46

I searched a bit on the internet and have not found anyone with a similar problem. Someone at - it suggestions? I guess I could try to upgrade the firmware again or something.

Probably due to the quality of service. You said it was a GamerLounge, which I suppose has automatic QoS for the games.

You can configure QoS on the linksys as well, it's just not the installer for the game by default.

  • End of 2008 Mac SSD & RAM Upgrade

    Hi all

I have a Macbook 13-inch, aluminum, late 2008. This is the 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, with 2x2gb DDR3 1067 MHz Kington.

I'm currently under OSX 10.9.5. My Version of boot ROM: MB51.007D.B03.

I would like to change the current drive with a 512 GB SSD Crucial. Someone of you have encountered problems with SSD Crucial on this particular Mac?

When I initially swapped to the Kington 2 GB RAM, I read that 4 GB is the max for this model at this time. Recently, I did some more research and found 8 GB might be supported if you a particular firmware. http://blog.MacSales.com/9102-secret-firmware-lets-late-08-MacBooks-use-8gb

Im looking at buying Crucial 8 GB Kit (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 - 1066 SODIMM memory for Mac. http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/ct2k4g3s1067m

I've read some people have had problems with 2 x 4 GB and used a config 1x2GB and 1x4Go. However, the post is about 3-4 years.

Once I update to SSDS and the Rams I intend to update the current firmware. Should I face any problem as soon as I update to El legend with the Rams and the SSD upgrade?

    I appreciate all the comments.

There is no problem to occur as far as I understand your plan except that it is much more fast MacBook Pro you expect!

You should get 2.5 external HDD Enclosure also inches so that you can make drive bootable with Carbon Copy clone or SuperDuper clone!

  • Satellite Pro M300 - error 2131 when burning CD - r in itunes

    Hi all

I know that this question of error msg is very old, but I can't seem to solve the problem.
I can't burn CD - Rs in itunes, it comes up with * error 2131 * which is apparently an error number that is very well known.

I downloaded RegCure to fix, but because it is a work laptop I can change the registry, because I don't have the admin rights.
I can burn CD - RW using iTunes, but they do not work in my car CD player.

I understand that it is a firmware issue and nothing to do with itunes.

    Please help me

    See you soon,.
    Scott

    Hello!

You're right, it's a firmware issue. In the knowledge base of Toshiba I found this document about the error 2131:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB84026P0000R01.htm

I think that the Satellite M300 is not a European model, it s an American model. So the site search Toshiba for a update of the firmware:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com

    Good bye

  • Product number: D5E81PA #ABG does not match all want dv6 models

    Hello

I made the mistake of buying a Windows 8 machine which does not reliably connect to the internet. I see connections and you connect to them but just have 'limited' connectivity and can't get online.

I am following this thread for update firmware http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Wireless-Internet-Home-Networking-e-g-Windows-8/Wifi-Problem-with-my-br... etc.

However my product number does not seem to relate to any kind of laptop dv6 envy. Indeed, a Google search for this product number showed a result. There is nothing about this issue of product on HP - great, great job guys!

    Product number: D5E81PA #ABG

What version of the dv6 want so I have and what driver do I download.

    Thank you

    Hello

It's "ENVY HP dv6-7302AX" and I don't think that in the NZ market. Its drivers supported site is:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us & LC = in & Product = 5354311

Annual slippage can check the Device Manager to discover the right wireless card.

    Kind regards.
