EA4500 - MBP problem 802.11n / 802. 11A

Hi guys,.

I use the EA4500 for almost a month now and I'm loving. Fast & stable, but I noticed a problem. My Macbook Pro does not connect via 802.11n but rather that it uses the 802. 11A.

screencapture:

I tried troubleshooting by using my other router Linksys WRTt310n and I noticed that my MBP is conencting for 802.11n.  So, basically, it is not a problem APPLE or MBP.

Is there any setting that I need to check?

Thank you much in advance.

Make sure that WMM is enabled in the router QoS tab.

    Hello:

The only suggestion I can offer is to try the latest driver directly from Mediatek (Ralink).

I had the same problem with the USB dual band Ralink wireless adapter.

He showed only the 2.4 GHz band, and I knew it was a dual-band card.

My first conclusion is that the adapter was defective and only 2.4 GHz radio worked.

I searched on the internet about the adapter model and found that someone suggested to install the latest driver for Ralink for it that has indeed brought the 5.0 Ghz band to life.

Don't say this is absolutely going to work for you, but you have nothing to lose by giving it a try.

  • Hello! My AirPort Express (802.11a/b/g) lights no more. I think he lost his power. What should I do to restore its power?

Hello! My AirPort Express (802.11a/b/g) lights no more. I think he lost his power. What should I do to restore its power?

If AirPort Express light does not illuminate, this indicates that the internal power supply inside the Express did not, and the device will need to be replaced.

If you really a 802.11a/b/g in the Express version, it is at least 8 years old and probably much older than that.  Average life of this product was about 3-4 years, then you have had surprisingly good luck with your product.

    Hello:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01035677.PDF

Chapter 3 lists all cards supported wireless. I see no support for wireless since any N cards.

I don't see the BIOS updates that add support for any model of card N Wireless either.

Installation a unsupported card will cause the laptop does not cranking up what the card does not support is removed.

  • 802.11A/n/AC vs b/g/n

    Hello

I want to use the fast wireless channel (who can see only some computers) only for the desktop with wireless adapters and more slow single band n for printers and mobile devices etc. However, every time I activate the slower 802.11b/g/n network, all devices that connect to the slower network and no device connects to the network fast 300 Mbps. I use the newer cards (laptops or adapters Linksys or ASUS 450 Mbps PCI-e adapters), so there shouldn't be any problem concerning those.

Is it possible that I can assure you that computers with maps to the right only connect to the network fast dual-band 802.11n?

    Thank you!

    Tibet

PS: The Distance is not a problem, there is an access point literally almost all computers!

    Hi Tibet,

I could not find the wireless card properties to use 5GHz, so if you could find a solution as I wrote above, that would be great.

If you use windows OS, you can then configure your wireless NETWORK card to prefer more 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz. Here's how you set it on windows 7 ( Control Panel-> Internet network & -> network-> Wireless Network Connection-> properties connection [right click] -> sets-> Advanced-> band preferably)

    Hello:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h20628.www2.HP.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c02834030-1.PDF

The only available for your model Wireless N card is the Broadcom adapter of abgn with the reference number used in the country where you live - 441530-001 or 002-441530.  (Chapter 3, p. 29-30).

You can install a wireless card for your model (not the 6710 (b) and it must have the part number HP on it or it won't work.

My recommendation is to do a search by the part number HP on eBay and get an opportunity but tested and functional.

  • Update on Atheros AR5009 802.11a/g/n Wifi adapt

I have a Home Premium HP Windows Vista 32 bit I bought about 7 years ago... only the computer that I have... always works pretty well... well that slow and slow, but only on wifi. So I installed a software to check for driver updates. It shows that the Atheros is old... installed in 26/04/08 available 20/08/11. My guestion is how to get it without having to pay for it. Shouldn't have came to me since I bought it?

    Hello

Say you the computer; Wireless normally comes with laptops, unless you buy a USB Dongle wireless or Wireless PCI Card for your desktop.

Get the drivers of the computer/laptop or a hardware manufacturer directly.

Here is a link to the page of the HP driver.

Enter your model number and then select the operating system to the appropriate drivers and latest.

  • Linksys N900 EA4500 speed problem

    Hi guys,.

I recently updated my ISP one up to 55 Mbps service (new modem - cisco DPC3008). I did some speed tests and what goes directly from modem pc my reaced 57.27 speed down and 10.72 upward.

When you browse the EA4500 router I can get 10.50 down and 3.73 upward. I read through a few recent discussions to go to the router configuration and

-Prioritation media-settings-the downstream bandwidth is fixed at 10945 kbit/s.

I tried to change to 55000 since I'm now up to 55 Mbps. In addition to the support WMM is defined on IT. I checked to see if the router is in need of an update of the firmware and the unit shows the firmware is uo to date. As soon as I leave the screen and return only the bandwidth is changed to 10945.

Does anyone have an idea on how to get the router to Max which will result in the modem?

    Thank you. Bruno

  • Migrate SSDS to an another MBP - problem App Store now

    Hello

Scenario: first MBP 13 "early 2011, second MBP 13" mid-2012.

I had a little accident with a glass of orange juice and the 2011 MBP just next door. Say no more, it's a classic. I could get at least the SSD unscathed.

In any case, I got my hands on basically the same model MBP. It is just over a year the most recent. I like to use the 500 GB SSD with El Capitan and bootcamped Win10 of the MBP 2011 as I just swapped it with the HD to MBP 2012.

So far so good. Double it starts perfectly and everything seems to work except the App store. I checked everything suggested for the "cannot connect to the App store" problem, but none of them worked, terminal settings, Keychain, time hacks etc etc. I guess it has something to do with the fact that the SSD is still material information of MBP, 2011 somewhere and now that it's running on a different model (very slightly) I'm stuck on the App Store. Of course, I am the legal owner of these two Mbps.

I would be very grateful for any hint how to get around this, even with a terminal hack. I have no time to reinstall. I need the SSD to stay the main system disk where a moment computer migration is no option.

  • Would be switching to a simultaneous dual‑band 802.11n AirPort Express correct problems with connectivity MacBook Air Wi - Fi

Right now I use an old AirPort Express Terminal (802.11 DSSS 1 and 2 Mbps standard, 802 11A, 802.11 g specifications and a 802.11n draft specification) with AirPort Utility Version 6.3.6 (636.5). My MacBook Air (13 inches, beginning 2014) intermittently loses the Wi - Fi connection. Move to a 802.11n simultaneous dual‑band AirPort Express would correct this problem? I'd be better off with an Airport Extreme?

  • Satellite Pro A200-16YT - update wireless adapter card for 802.11n

Satellite Pro A200-16YT (PSAE1E) with Windows XP Professional SP3 from the East.
I tried to increase my existing 54 Mbps wireless network speed by replacing the Atheros AR5007-EG existing with 802.11n 802.11a/b/g more quick adapter.

The Atheros driver is v9.2.0.439 (08/04/2011) it's later. I tried to install an Azurewave AR5BXB72 (Atheros AR5008) as a substitute, but without success. As well as trying the standard Windows wireless configuration, I used the Atheros Client Utility (ACU) which confirms that the card and the driver are installed and activated, but the radio does not, so no there is no association/connection to the wireless network!

Reinstall the original AR5007 works without any problem. If someone experienced similar problems or can offer a solution, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    Hello

Not sure about this Wlan card but I read in the forum that some people had similar problems, allowing the new card Wlan.

    Check this thread for example:

It seems that the problem is related to the assignment of the WLan card pins.

  • Lenovo Y50-70 802.11n question

I recently bought my Y50-70 new and I am very satisfied. I chose the FreeDOS version, as I already had a Windows Pro 8.1 license. I installed all the drivers on the Lenovo support Web page and everything seemed fine. However, I recently discovered that the Wi - Fi network adapter is missing support for wireless n mode. The model is Realtek RTL8723BE, which is clearly part of a WiFi n up to 150Mbps. In the options in the Device Manager, I have only the option b or b/g. I guess it's a driver problem.

All the world is facing this issue before? I do not like, but I use my own NAS for file management, a fast and reliable network connection is very important for me.

72.2 Mbps is 802.11n 802.11n is without doubt.

For 150 Mbps, you must force the router to set the width of the channel at 40 MHz.
