Hello! My AirPort Express (802.11a/b/g) lights no more. I think he lost his power. What should I do to restore its power?

If AirPort Express light does not illuminate, this indicates that the internal power supply inside the Express did not, and the device will need to be replaced.

If you really a 802.11a/b/g in the Express version, it is at least 8 years old and probably much older than that.  Average life of this product was about 3-4 years, then you have had surprisingly good luck with your product.

NOTE: I also have a second generation version which works very well.

Let us first make sure that you really have a 1st Gen AirPort Express. To do this, look for the model number on the side of the Express. It is difficult to see, with grey lettering on a white background, but the number starts model with an 'A' followed by four digits.

You do not want to see A1264... not A1084 and A1088.

  • How to extend the range of my Airport Extreme Base Station (802. 11 a, c) using a relay of Airport Express (802.11n).  Airport Utility (V635.2) says that this version does not support the relay.  That is what it is?

How can I extend the range of my Airport Extreme (802. 11 a, c) using an Airport Express (802.11n) point.  Airport (V635.2) utility does not recognize the Express on its screen?  I have to buy equipment?  I'm on a MacPro OS X 10.10.5.  Thank you.

AirPort utility that ships with OS X 10.10.5 supports base stations as 802.11ac & 802.11n AirPort. It should be able to configure both of your base stations for a scope (wireless connected base stations) or roaming types (base station connected Ethernet) wireless networks.

When you initially configure the Wan, it helps to keep the two base stations in the same room. Once configured, you can move the base station that extend to the desired location. The important key is that the final positioning of the station that extends the base must be understood that it's to expand in order to maintain sufficient bandwidth to the station remotely for clients from network connected. • Airport Express as a bridge for cable internet and wifi

    Hello

My first post and I hope you can help, because I was not able to get a clear answer to my question, but it's perhaps easier to write

I have an airport extreme for wifi, it's in a piece of my house. Airport extreme, I have an ethernet cable to my living room on the other side of my house. The cable is for my TV. The walls are solid, and I have only weak wifi in my living room. Therefore, I would like to connect an airport express (WAN port) to the cable in the living room, offering a better wifi, and I want to enjoy the internet connection cable between the LAN port in my TV

the new airport express 802.11n, do the trick?

    Thank you

    Kris

Yes. You would like to configure the Express to be in a roaming network configuration with your extreme. This would make the Express Ethernet active ports to support your TV.

  • How to put in place the new Airport Express to extend the current wireless WiFi U-Verse home network?

    Hello

What are the steps for the creation of a new AIRPORT EXPRESS MC414LL/A Terminal so that it make that expand my network existing wireless, using my current AT & T UVerse equipment home.  Here are the details...

    Internet service provider: AT & T U-Verse

Existing facilities: primary AT & T provided router/Modem: ARRIS NVG589 (reference 587234-004-00) that manages my house wired and wireless Wi - Fi.

PROBLEM: Does not offer full Wi - Fi coverage

SOLUTION: Attempt to add a new Terminal Airport Express so that it will extend coverage of the existing Wi - Fi network wireless.  I plan on the use of certain features such as streaming my content from iTunes to my sound, surround sound, etc Airport Express Library.

NEW FEATURE: APPLE AIRPORT EXPRESS 802.11n Wi - Fi PART # MC414LL/A

I wish I had AT & T equipment to continue to manage the Wi - Fi and network functionality (DNS, firewall, etc.), as it currently does.  However, I want to use the Airport Express to extend Wi - Fi coverage.  I already have a cable ethernet from the floor and the AT & T ARRIS NVG589.  I just need to know how to set up my new Apple Airport Express.

    Thank you!

With the Express connected to Arris gateway with Ethernet, you have the basis for a roaming network.

I would recommend that you run the AirPort Utility and allow it to run automatic installation of the Express. The utility should detect that the Express is connected by Ethernet and go through the steps to properly set up. Note: If you have made any changes to the Express since out of the box, I strongly suggest that you first perform a 'factory' reset on it to make sure that the installation went well.

  • Connection error (streaming) at Airport Express to iTunes & Airfoil on Windows XP

I use Windows XP 2002 SP3 on a Dell Latitude E4300 laptop, connect to a router Linksys WRT54G, providing a network home WPA2-Personal (TKIP + AES).

I see my Airport Express 802.11n in iTunes 10.4.1 and can select it via the Airplay button. But when iTunes tries to connect, it comes up saying ' an error occurred during the connection to the antenna device xxx. ". An unknown error has occurred (error-15000).
A similar problem happens with wing of Rogue Amoeba that I use to listen to the music of other applications such as VideoLAN to Airport Express. I see that my Airport Express is available but when Airfoil tries to connect, it comes up saying that "it seems that a firewall on this computer prevented Airfoil to connect to Airport Express xxx. Please check your firewall settings and try again. ».
I put Airplay and iTunes as exception in my Windows Firewall configuration and even added 5000 to 5005 TCP and UDP ports 6000-6005 such exceptions recommended by the wing. I also disabled Symantec Endpoint Protection I installed. The only thing I can not disable is McAfee Endpoint Encryption, since I also use the laptop at work and I don't have permission to disable McAfee.
How do I followed what happens is to prevent iTunes and wing of streaming to Airport Express Terminal?
Also, I have a Windows Vista running on another laptop Dell Inspiron computer on the same network and have no problem streaming music from iTunes or the wing at the Airport Express on the same network.
    Thank you

    Hello

You receive the error message relates to the firewall blocking the connection on Windows XP you can connect using Windows vista computer.

You will need to disable Mcafee on the computer for which you can contact sysadmin at work in order to allow access to Mcafee and check if it helps.

  • Do a factory reset on my AirPort Extreme 802.11n resets my country code?

Do a factory reset on my AirPort Extreme 802.11n resets my country code?

Wireless Diagnostics warns on codes of countries in conflict.

I ve got an AirPort Express 802.11n and an AirPort Extreme 802.11n

The country code of the Airport Express is ok, but Airport Extreme shows me different options.

    Any suggestions?

    Please

A factory default reset will set the area code of the AirPort Extreme back to the initial setting that it was when it was new, but this should not be necessary because you can change the country setting without having to perform a factory default reset.

You can see the options available for your AirPort Extreme by opening AirPort Utility, by clicking on the image of the AirPort Extreme, and then click Edit in the window that appears.

Click on the Wireless tab at the top of the window, and then click Wireless Options near the bottom of the window. Click on the country selection box to see the options available for your AirPort Extreme country.

Apple is doing to "regionalize" airport routers, so, for example, that if you bought the AirPort Extreme in the AirPort Express to the United States and Europe, the country on the extreme options will only show of European countries, so that the country on the version options American Express shows countries in the Western hemisphere.

  • About Airport Express speed

So I have an airport express 802.11n 1 St gen. I just had a new place and got a TWC modem with internet high speed 200/20. To maximize the speed of the internet, I bought my router? And if not what device would be capable of managing the total capacity of the modem (the 2nd gen vs extreme). Thank you very much!

The AirPort Express... the 2nd Gen version... or 1st generation has a 100 Mbps Ethernet port, which would be the theoretical maximum connection speed which is the version of the Express could bring.

The AIrPort Extreme has a 1 000 Mbit/s Ethernet port, so he won't have any trouble to manage a 200 Mbps Internet connection... and much more if it is higher speeds are available.

On a 300 Mbps connection here with TWC Internet, AirPort Extreme usually book on 325-330 Mbits / s, indicating that TWC gives more than they promised.

  • Can I downgrade firmware AirPort Express to 7.6.4 to 7.6.1?

I have an AirPort Express 802.11n, 2nd generation, with the firmware 7.6.4. I was unable to get a Chromecast to connect to him - there seems to be a known problem with the connection to any firmware version 7.6.1. With the help of the utility AirPort 6.3.6 if I option click on the version of the firmware for the router and get the choice of the downgrading of firmware 7.6.3 but nothing earlier. The 'other' option one opens 'my documents' dialog, but if there is a version of previous firmware stored somewhere on my Mac, I don't know where to find. Grateful for any help.

If you have purchased the Express with 7.6.4 firmware can not be downgraded. Downgrades Apple blocked... and 7.6.3 is poor so stick to what you have.

I think that problems with Chromecast on 7.6.3 and 7.6.4 are more to do with an extreme as the express... However if she refuses to work... Be smart...

Apple created their network for apple devices... so use your Apple TV not a chromecast.

    OR

Buy a cheap as wireless router of the low-end N TP-Link Wireless (or other Chinese brand) chips... Connect all wireless router is the main router of the network and use as WAP for the Chromecast... you'll have a lot less questions to stick to Non-Apple wireless equipment when you use streamers not apple.

  • Airport Express used as a range extender with a Virgin / superhub of Netgear does not work

I use Wifi around the House on three floors and in the back kitchen.  in the kitchen, reception is poor, probably because of masonry between the modem and the kitchen walls.

I bought an Airport Express 802.11n in January 2016 hub to extend the WiFi in the kitchen and I hope that the patio beyond.  The distances are not great - 10 to 15 m.  We have the Virgin as a provider with a Netgear Virgin Super Hub (490 VMDG).

Express to the airport moved and this is confirmed when to check on my Mac with Airport utility, the MONKEY shows and itself a steady green light.

Problem is that in using wifi designs in the kitchen the signal is poor to non-existent and when I turn off the EPA the signal isn't as well, which implies that the received signal is that of hub Super rather than the EPA.

I guess I can't realized overall upward to extend an existing network?

    Any suggestions?

The Airport Express is not designed to extend the signal of a 3rd party router, so if you try to have the Express connect wireless wireless and to extend the signal, he can not do with your Virgin Super Hub.

The Express is designed to extend the signal from another wireless only router from Apple.

The Express 'joined' your wireless network, it could be used to connect a compatible USB printer or for use with AirPlay.

If you want to Express to extend the signal of the Super station, the Express needs to connect to the hub using wired Ethernet wired, permanent.

Alternatively, another option would be to add another Express, install it near the hub and plug it into the hub with an Ethernet cable. Then, a 'distance' AirPort Express would be able to extend wireless signal of the Express 'main '.

  • AirPort Express works fine with OSx but not Windows

Bought my AirPort Express 802.11n just a few months.

It worked very well for all computers and mobile devices in my house.

A few days ago, all of a sudden, PCs of my roommates started to get 'internet slow, yet shows the power of the full signal. Note that my Macbook Pro has no problems. A PC in my room has also no problem using Ethernet.

My MBP is about 5 meters from the router with a door between the two. PCs of my roommates are about 8 to 10 meters from the router. I brought my MBP in their room and always get the same usual speed, I got in my room.

Please notify. Really appreciate it. Thank you very much.

The AirPort Express sends the same WiFi signal to all devices.  If computers have connection problems, it's a number PC... not an AirPort Express station.  I don't think there's a lot of guys here on an Apple forum PC... but it is possible that we could see your message and comment.
