Hello
Published by: user7239280 on April 25, 2011 11:46With the difference above can we move forward in the implementation of dataguard?
Even if your configuration is supported, it is always recommended that you have the same hardware configuration for the primary and the basic data Eve - please log an SR to confirm this with the support of the Oracle.
Thank you

Hi all
EBS 11i

RHEL5
There is a special process for the physical database of EBS to standby dataguard configuration?
I was able to configure the physical standby for its database, but if you try to shift from the primary to the standby mode, the standby cannot log command.
Help, please...

Hi all
I solved my problem now. I'm just being dumb of me
In the init.ora, I see that there comment #.
#log_archive_start = true
Since it's the eve before db, it did not matter if its commented out.
But when I switch to it, now, the question to which it can not automatically archive the online redo, it is why ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE wait forever
Thank you ALL.

With dataguard EBS can be cloned?
Hi all
EBS 11i
OEL 5
I'm dataguard configuration to our ebs.
I noticed init.ora added new parameters like:
db_name = PROD
instance_name = PROD
fal_client = PROD
fal_server = STANDBY
Log_archive_dest_1 = 'LOCATION=/p01/app/oracle/product/9.0.1/dbs/arch. '
LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 = "SERVICE = STANDBY LGWR ASYNC NOAFFIRM'"
log_archive_format = %t_%s.dbf
log_archive_start = true
Remote_login_passwordfile = EXCLUSIVE lock
service_name = PROD
What happens if I cloned our PROD to the TEST instance? The new shell settings?
Thank you very much
JC
Yes because you cannot configure the data with the same target environment guard env set up with your production environment (source).

EBS R12 dataguard physical standby
Hi all
BSE R12.2.4
RHEL 6
Most of the physical standby of companies used to be opened read only for reports.
It comes to unload part of the load of PROD for better performance.
Most of the reporting tools are 3rd party like Jasper, Crystal, Java, .net, Apex, Toad, Sqldev, etc.
My question is can a simultaneous Manager EBS reports can execute on a database read-only?
Thank you very much

<CONTEXT_NAME>_ifile.ora

Their content also exist in the parent file?
Please enlighten if I need these files.
Thank you very much
JC
Hello
Because they are many DBA worldwide and with different standard environment maintained (custom) for them, so in order to solve the complexity (or instead of change/complicate things), they give flexibility as inputs plug-in and plug-out to file (with ifile as subset). So that they can add or just throw will be a comment in tnsnames.ora based switch above and switch back.

EBS high availability VS. Continuity
Hi all
I'm confused about high availability and business continuity.
They are the same or similar?
Assuming I have cluster tier1 Apps and Apps-teir2 installation on the same instance.
If Apps-teir1 fails, users assigned to that transferred to Apps - level 2 will be and vice versa?
If they do fail-overed in another layer Apps, what do you call this kind of configuration?
Is - this high availability and business continuity? or other type of installation available in EBS?
How about the Site configuration after disaster with dataguard standby server.
If the PROD fails, it will automatically transfer to the Site of recovery with dataguard. Can it be called high-availability as well?
Kindly enlighten please...
Thank you very much
JC
For your type of installation, it will work, but you have to take care now
1.) as DB side is supported by the installer of dataguard, phase applications file system, you will need to find ways to transfer files on Server2. Maybe you can use Rsync.
2.) failure to PROD you convert DB mode ensures prod.
3.) next to the application, you will need to run the combination adcfgclone/autoconfig (what URL you want to have Dr. Côté, CM Setup etc.)
Please be aware that in the case of installation Ebiz DR there will always a downtime (you can reduce to a minimum the same but can't avoid it)

There are a lot of built-in avaiable time tools and 3rd parties (ConcurrentManagers, BI, Hyperion, Excel4apps, etc.)
Please check if my answers will be passing in your standards of knowledge.
Can also help you improve the answer or what is the best response?
Thank you very much
JC
I hope that "User Interfaces" refers to where the user can input/display the application.
If this is the case of User Interfaces are OFA, form of Oracle and Web ADI form.
In R12.2.4 there are other changes in the page as a complement to the pane in the homepage above.

Yes, or use RMAN as suggested above.
