Edge 11 slow to connect to Wifi

My 11 dashboard takes ages, restarting or emerging from hibernation, WiFi Internet connection.

The wifi system tray icon shows the circular symbol 'wait' more than a minute. During this time by clicking on the icon does not show even it tries to connect to one of the found networks. In the end, he made and connects with a few seconds.

The drivers are up-to-date via Windows and 100% Lenovo system update.

It doesn't matter what network I'm trying to connect to. For now, I'm at home and the Wirless settings shows my network as one he knows and is configured to connect automatically.

The same thing is happening to work on their public network, so there seems to be something to do with the laptop rather than on the networks.

Does anyone have ideas on this one?

David.

Can you try to uninstall the wireless driver in Device Manager and allow Windows to find it's own automatically?

Try to purge your list of favorite networks and dragging the networks you really want at the top of the list

    System Preferences-> network-> wireless-> advanced-> preferred networks

The Mac will go through the list looking for networks to connect to in the order that they are in the list.  Reduce the size of the list and make sure that those you really want is near the top of the list.

  • Slow ethernet connection on Satellite M200-A411

You just bought a new Satellite M200-A411. When I got home, I immediately plugged it directly to a DSL modem. And the speed was very slow. Normally with my old Pentium III desktop computer, I constantly receive 330 Kbps. On this laptop I was getting anywhere from 60 Kbps to 120 Kbps. Often, it will not even bring up Google. I thought at first it was just a hard working DSL connection.

So I tried to plug it back on the desktop, and I get 330 Kbps, again and again. I tried to connect using WiFi... everything is quick and satisfactory. I'm pretty sure it s not a problem with the software and most probably it is with the Ethernet controller or the network card. I immediately went back to the store and got another unit. It was not much faster... maybe 150 Kbps. What's common with two Toshiba units is that they could hardly pull the top of the site initially. But as you insist, the speed would go further upward.

Is there like a teething period or a break during the period for these Ethernet devices? There is no reason why I shouldn't receive 330 Kbps on the laptop. This batch of M200 would have bad Ethernet adapters? I love my Toshiba and I hope you could shed some light on this.

    Thank you and more power

    Hello

One is clear; the data transmission depends on many and various factors.
If the server doesn't allow that a higher speed than you will not get a faster data transmission.
There are two sites; Server and client. Both must play together to get the best performance ;)

One question; Are you using the Vista on the M200?
If Yes, then you should check out this article:

  • HP 2000-2d49WM laptop PC: slow Internet connection

I've dealt with problems with my internet connection for a while now. I first started noticing the issue once we moved and had to switch internet service providers. Before moved us, I was the only one using the wireless, so I never noticed a problem. Now, there are about 6 devices using wifi at some point. Seeing that there are more devices, I thought that the upgrade of the internet would allow a smoother internet experience. I upgraded from 15Mbps to 30Mbps (eventually to 50 Mbps). The connection got faster, but I noticed even a bit of lag from time to time on my laptop. Countless calls to the ISP and many visits by repair technicians at home later, the problem has been resolved. Everything worked fine except for my laptop. Phones and tablets and even the laptop Tech, were running at 54-56Mbps. My laptop? 26 - 32Mbps (using Speedtest.net to check the connection speed, btw). Even directly connected to the modem using an ethernet cord, it was running only about 34Mbps. The repair tech said that he had no idea why only my laptop has been affected by this issue. Now, my connection is anywhere between 20-30Mbps, even lower when others use the wifi.

So far, I tried to reinstall the wireless network card driver and update drivers (the steps proposed by HP troubleshooting) wireless network. I don't really know what to do about this, at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @AJay_89 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. Thanks for the very detailed post on what you've done so far. Very useful.

I looked into your problem on your laptop HP 2000-2d49WM and slow wireless connection signal. I would change the channel on the router. Routers are able to communicate to your laptop on several different channels, and sometimes it helps.

You could disable IPv6 for the laptop. Some say this helps.

Solve this problem Microsoft Fix it 50413.

Here is a link to help as well.

I hope that it helps anything here.

    Thank you.

  • Smartphones blackBerry 8320 cannot connect to wifi at home

I recently got a BB8320. All right, I get emails and can send in public hotspots that I am able to connect to Wifi, download EDGE or sometimes UMA. But with my home network wireless, I have a connection problem. Searching for networks brings my router. I select Connect and enter the WPA key but I get an "impossible to associate with the network" error message. This could be to do with my ISP? (Tiscali, in the United Kingdom). Mobile operator is Orange. Any ideas, anyone?

Got home last night, looked at the phone and guess what? Display of SSID wireless and also UMA! Phone has been turned off at night, so I guess I should have restarted after notice of the folling baseball. Thanks for this and hope it helps others :-)

  • iPhone will not connect to WiFi

I have an iPhone running iOS 10 6. Since I have updated to iOS 10, I had problems connecting to WiFi. It happened the first time I've updated and I read that it could be some issues with the latest iOS, therefore, some recommendations to restore the iPhone, I did and it set for a few days, but once again, the issue is back.

When I go into WiFi mid settings it does not recognize my WiFi network, but as he said 'safety recommendation' when I hit I got a message that says "low security, WEP is not considered as safe. Configure your router to use WPA2-Personal (AES) security type for this network"

This message never came until it again once I have updated to iOS.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Still play songs from my iPhone when connected to wifi

Had this problem before, but it stopped happening a while ago only to re - emerge with the iOS 10 update.

I'm running on an iPhone 6 and used to play my music library on shuffle.

Over the years, I've deleted some songs from my library of songs, but they remain available for re - download in iCloud.

However, from time to time, if I play songs on shuffle when connected to wifi, one of these songs removed will be available on my phone and play.  It does not download to my phone and still only available for download on iCloud.

Is it possible to stop these removed songs to play on quite my phone when connected to wifi?

I'll add that I'm not on all subscriptions either except to increase my storage iCloud.

I believe that you open the music application, select "download music", then make your choices from there.  If you do not select the "download music" it will first play all the songs that you have purchased.

  • Does not connect to wifi

I just updated mi iPhone 5 to 10 of the IOS, but now I'm not able to use my wifi, I can connect to the network, but I am not able to connect to the internet. Help please

You must first check your Wi - Fi router: check if other devices can be connected. This will let you know if there is a problem with your Wi - Fi router. You can restart your router and restart the connection to WiFi.

Make sure that Wi - Fi and you can see your network

Go to settings on your iPhone > Wi - Fi and check if it is enabled. And if there is a blue check mark next to a network name means that your iPhone or iPad was connected to this network.

Restart your iPhone/iPad, router, cable/DSL mode

If this does not help, reset your network

On your iPhone, iPad, got to settings > general > reset > reset network settings. This will reset Wi - Fi networks and passwords, cell parameters and VPN, and APN settings you used before.

    These measures should help.

    Hello

I'm sorry to hear that you are not able to use your cell phone... Well well... like a cell phone.

I suspect the 'texts' you send and receive through iMessage, not your cellular service provider network. When you look at the top left of the screen, it does not say 'search' or does it see the connect to your provider's network?

Have you tried the steps If you cannot connect to a cellular or cell - data Apple Support Network?

  • Somes devices cannot connect to WiFi TimeCapsule more

Hi everyone, I am facing a weird situation.

Current configuration: the home Wifi is provided by a TimeCapsule, which has its firmware updated. A couple of device (10) are regularly connected (printers, iMac, MacBook Air, iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc.). Nothing very complicated.

    The situation:

This morning, I had 2 friends at home with their personal devices (one tablet of Nexus and an iPad 1st generation). I tried to connect to my Wifi and it never worked. On the iPad, the wheel turned in the parameter space WiFi and no internet connection was possible. No Wifi setting has been provided by the TimeCapsule (no IP, etc.). On the tablet of the Nexus, I got more details: he was blocked at the stage of IP address get.

Obviously, my first thought was to restart my TimeCapsule. Unfortunately, nothing has changed: these new devices have been blocked at the same stage and... my daughter iPod also got stuck. Exactly like the iPod from my friend. But has been connecting iPod to my daughter to my wife for the last 3 years!

My friends finally left, so the problem is "over", with the exception of the iPod of my daughter. Until this morning, he was perfectly able to connect as usual, but now no.: the wheel keeps turing in the Wifi configuration. I have obviously reset network settings: nothing has changed.

On the TimeCapsule, I see that the iPod gets an IP address. Also, when I change the name of the iPod in the control area, I can launch a sync to iTunes on the iMac and the iPod name is updated! So, this means that the iPod IS connected via Wifi, but it is not possible to browse the Internet or connect to what. The WiFi icon does not even appear in the top bar.

All other devices (iPad, iMac, etc) works perfectly.

    Any ideas?

    M.

... except for the iPod from my daughter. Until this morning, he was perfectly able to connect as usual, but now no.: the wheel keeps turing in the Wifi configuration. I have obviously reset network settings: nothing has changed.

As you probably already know, reset the network settings deletes saved passwords and network configuration details. It also exports the residual caches and preferences. Most of the time, it should be fixed.

As it didn't, the only other suggestions I could give are:

    • Go to the option "forget network Wi - Fi" in iOS settings and then manually try to join the wireless network yet.
    • If this does not resolve the problem, then possibly one or more of your Wi - Fi connection settings for your wireless network may have to be changed:
      • Make sure that the network name does not include spaces or special characters.
      • Don't 'hide' your Wi - Fi network.
      • Try temporarily disabling Wi - Fi security to see if the iPad will connect now.

Here's a tip for the user on the problems of Wi - Fi. Suggest from the top and bottom. Maybe one of them will help you.

    (1) perform a forced reboot: hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Leave the device to reboot.

    (2) resetting the network settings: settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Join the network again.

    (3) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth).

    (4) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

    (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available. Also turn off all apps to VPN and retest the Wi - Fi.

    (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).

    (7) try the device on another network, i.e., neighbors, the public coffee house, etc.

    (8) backup and restore the device using iTunes (ask for more details if you wish).

    (9) go to the Apple Store for the evaluation of the material.
