ITunes detects the iPod, but 'cannot correctly identify' uninstalled iTunes and then re-installed. Restarted laptop. Folder deleted Apple Lockdown, rebooted, still could not "identify" during each step, also disconnected iPod USB port.

Try the following (in that order).  Looks like you're using Windows (not a Mac), so I'll make this assumption...

Shut down (power off) the computer, disconnect all the USB devices.  Plug the laptop power adapter, so that it does not work on battery power.  Do this Reset (reboot), the iPod

Start computer, run iTunes and connect the iPod to a USB direct on the laptop by itself.  If there is no difference, put the iPod in Disk Mode

Then connect to the laptop again, always by himself.  If iTunes picks it up, he may ask you to do a restore with a message on the "recovery."  If you're OK with deletion of the iPod, do the restore.  See if the iPod is "correctly identified" after restoration.

  • Windows 7 is not genuine, once the computer has been infected by the virus of Ransomware

Please can I have help from someone.

Some time ago I was surfing the net when I came across a website, my naiveté made me click on it only to be greeted by a virus. The round about three months my computer was inaccessible. So I left him alone. To unlock a sum of £100 to be paid. I have it has not paid and after the months I had access to my computer again. But all was not how I expected I would soon find a virus, which Windows Security Essentials found and eliminated, thus to discover my version of Windows was not legitimate. So a ball of activation popped up and told me that within thirty days in that my windows activation key should be included. But as I've already said, I had a good no hacked legitimate version of windows before the incident.

So now all I ask if this can be taken seriously until I spent the time to write this, hope that my problem could be solved.

You can reinstall win as often as necessary if you reinstall an OEM on the PC version, it was first installed on and you have the key.

In the worst case just use the phone activation, do not meet all the prompts until the opportunity to talk to a real person

  • Maybe clicked on something that I should not have... Advice please!

A window appeared on my browser (latest version of chrome on a MacBook of 2015 using the latest OS) which resembles an investigation legitimate from my ISP. Recently I had problems with them and my alarm has not extinguished quickly enough. It is curious that this window has appeared without an email but it didn't fully if register because my ISP has pop-up warnings apparently. I have NEVER had a pop up - but - due to some questions by e-mail, my firewall is down and I forgot to put up again.

Yes, as the fog cleared I had already clicked through the investigation and he offered a free gift and that's when I realized that I should immediately stop the window. I haven't entered ANY info, never filled out a form, or I don't have to download anything. I installed Malwarebytes for Mac and he came clean.

My concern: could I have gotten something malicious as a key logger or some other identity stealing malware simply by clicking on the poll? I think they call it a drive by?

I'm a meticulous time machine user, so I have a complete backup of 99% of my system hard disk external. I should burn the Earth just to be sure?

... I haven't entered ANY info, never filled out a form, or I don't have to download anything.

Then you have no reason to worry.

Could I have gotten something malicious, as a key logger or some other identity stealing malware simply by clicking on the poll?

Keylogger No.. At for example requires authentication to install.

The survey was a ruse to try to get you to reveal personal information. There are several varieties of this scam. They are remarkably successful, but you didn't fall for it. No further action is necessary or justified.

  • Badger of privacy is installed but is not displayed. Present in Chrome & IE

Badger of privacy is installed but is not displayed. Present in Chrome & IE. Using Firefox 36 & Windows 7 Pro. All updates are underway.

What version of privacy Badger you have installed?
Is active in the Add-ons Manager in Firefox?

The 0.1.4 version of AMO - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/privacy-badger-firefox/ - is an older version that is not a "UpdateURL" to tell him where to get an update of. For some reason any the EFF did not updated the version on the official website of Mozilla Add - ons since June 2014 - ' Firefox 21 and later "- but only until the 29.0a1 of Firefox (the pre-release alpha tester as the end 2013).

Version 2.5 of the EFF - https://www.eff.org/privacybadger - is 'spec'd' compatible through the future version of Firefox 40.0. This one should work for you. If it isn't, you will need to contact the support for their add-on EFF - they made and should support.

  • When I want to install the converter file for DownloadHelper my McAfee security says that the site contains viruses and malware and me should not go on this site

The warning comes from the "save to file" from the installation file. Should I ignore it? I just had a big problem with a scam ransomware blocking system, so I'm really sensitive.

Note that there is generally no need to use such a converter because a lot of media players can play flv and mp4 files as well.

If you do not then you can look at VLC.

There should not be a problem with the converter used by the Video DownloadHelper extension

I opened 2 emails that were in the folder spam from my email and that each contained an attachment zip 2 k and 3 KB. As I could not open directly in my email, I opened the zip files with the "open in" another app option. When you open the zip files at this other app asked me if I wanted to extract zip files in a new folder, I have accepted, in both files .js (javascript) files there. I opened these .js inside this same application files and content files white text on black background and that seems to be a script file. My question is: my iPad Air has been compromised by a scam of viruses, such as the Trojan horse thieves and banking password especially as Dridex or Dyreza, the Trojans and ransomware as Locky, cryptolocker, or Teslacrypt. If that were the case, then what is the solution to get rid of these... Thank you.

Simply delete them. It is not possible to install anything on iOS using this method. For good measure, you can remove and reinstall the application allowing you to open it with, but I don't really have that is actually needed.

  • All hacked with Ransomware on Safari?

On March 4, I got a blue screen telling me to call the representative of Microsoft listed immediately to unlock my Mac Mini I was on Safari but all locked except the blue screen.  Then a record came through my speakers explaining that I have a serious problem and that he should not try to do anything about it until I called the number on the blue screen.  I was unable to do anything on Safari, but was able to open another browser through Firefox.  From there on, I was able to delete all backups time machine current and restored in early March 3.  Everything seems to work ok now, but today I saw an article by Palo Alto Networks, there may be a dormant malware that can resurface three days AFTER infection.  PAN also said that this attack tries to enter backups time machine to prevent which, in my view, that I did to restore control.  I'm not an expert by any means, but I have critical information that I can't afford to lose.  I heard that some have paid a ransom for similar problems.  I thought I was safe with Apple and my small business documents.  I doubt that this question was exclusive to me.  Any information on this topic or how to prevent it from repeating would be greatly appreciated.

The recent ransomware was limited to a certain version of the show, a torrent app. The developer has since published a clean version of their application. It would have shut up together on your computer, not just Safari.

You have encountered a website, appearing usually if you're in a shady site that locks Safari. All you had to do was Force Quit Safari and not visiting sites subject to this kind of popup advertising in the future.
