Effects bus

My guitar tutor asked me not to include the effects upon registration of securities, but to add as own and then add effects on a bus.  I wasn't quite sure what he meant, so when I got home I couldn't find anywhere to do this.

Can someone advise?

On the subject of GarageBand, has nothing to fear, because she always saves the original 'clean' signal as it is without adding effects. All the effects that you add with plugin in GarageBand, even if you hear while recording, are added to the 'read' signal', 'monitor' with effects without actually their registration. This is why you can change the sound in any way at any time after registration.

However, if you save a processed signal (physical real pedals add to your guitar sound and record this signal, then of course, this signal will be recorded like that and you can't 'make clean again').

Bus

CE that your professor is referring is an audio production technique, where you (route) also send part of the signal on a track to another track (called a track to the) via a so-called 'Bus', add an effect on this track to the (reverb, delay, etc.) and mix two signals of tracks depending on how the original signal and how much the signal effect you want.

GarageBand has no bus (at least not outdoors). Any effect you want to add is done by adding Plugins directly on the track, not need to bus. (An exception is Master effects).

Hope that helps

  • Bus / effect Solo

    Hello!

Can you help me with this issue?

(Since it is not a specific problem of material, I refrain from posting my material).

I have a lead with efficiency and a bus. Now I would like to cut the basic sound and just mix the effect and the bus routed into the mix.

(If I have the bus solo, the solo would have throughout the project, the thing is I want just the bus and this effect to be heard for this track, so I can mix it up in all this.)

    Thank you in advance,

    David distorted lights.

Take the base audio track on the left and right output. that is put on "No. Output' not stereo output.

Always, your shipment will be send to your effect buses and you will hear the effect.

  • Memory Bus speed

I have 3 portable C771US.  Each of them has 2 GB of memory (2 x 1 GB of DDR2-667 PC 5300).  If I make a diagnosis at startup, the system shows the bus memory running a 533 MHz.  Everest shows the real clock of front side bus to 133 MHz with an effective 533 MHz clock.  It also shows memory bus clock properties real 266 MHz with an effective 533 MHz clock.   Everest has also indicates that the memory factory runs on the timing of the SPD to 266 instead of the programming of schedules for 333.

The mobile Intel 965 Express GM chipset and processor T2390 supports an effective bus of 667 MHz (real 333 MHz clock) speed.   HP also has required as PC5300 DDR2-667 memory running at 667 MHz (333 Mhz).

Why has HP/Compaq strangled the speed of the memory on this laptop model?  This seems to be the result of a bios incorrect memory calendar/type definition (not accessible to end users).

I guess that's the reason for the low side of Windows Vista experience from 4.4 to memory.  As the graphical subsystem sharing the main memory, the graphics score 3.1 (3.3 games) is probably lower than it might be as well.  As this is a portable value, I can only assume that the parameters used by the BIOS have been forgotten or were a conscious decision of marketing in order to protect the higher finished goods.

I hope it wasn't the last.  What about an update of the bios to remedy or better yet an update of the bios that allows the user to adjust the memory timings.

    Kind regards

My mistake.  T2390 processor has a speed of 533 MHz fsb.  I accidentally lifted the incorrect CPU specs. I upgrade the processor to reach 667.

  • Track effects rack: animate effects individual power

    Hello

In a CS6 project, I have a mix with two effects bus. a filter and reverb.

The filter must remain on all the time, but I want to "animate" the effect of reverberation on and outside over the timeline.

The manual says that I can use the power envelope 'Power Rack' to activate the effects on and outside; This is basically true, however, I can not turn off the reverb without turning off the filter.

Is it possible to animate each track FX on and outside, or do I have to separate the effects of different tracks?

    Thank you

    3Perf

    Hello

Currently, the power effects individual States cannot be automated, although this feature is in our backlog of data base and I will add your comments to the notes that should help determine the priority.  In the meantime, you can create a bus with the reverb in his basket, assign the output of your audio track to the bus, and then automate the effects rack power bus.  Your audio track would still have the Notch Filter, and it would not be affected by automation in the bus lane.

  • Can I mix up to 32 bits at a higher than 44.1 kHz sampling frequency?

When I'm using Ableton Live, it allows me to choose 16, 24 or 32-bit, and then I can choose a up to 192000 sample rate.  Is this possible in the hearing?  I've been through all the preferences and all tabs and I can't find this option.  Everything I find is a convert, or the option adjust.  But this isn't what I want.  I want to mix down this way.

The closest thing is when I go to "Export Audio Mix Down", I found, I can select 32-bit.  Then, there is a box for the sampling rate, with all the different values.  But it doesn't allow me to change of 44100.

    ?

    sleepwalk1000 wrote:

Thanks for the responses guys.  Hmm, well the reason why I ask this question is because I am preparing a cd to be sent to a mastering studio.  The engineer told me to mix down to 24 bits instead of 16 bit.  I asked him why, because everything happens to 16 bit cd anyway.  He said even if my session has 16 bit files, if I have them running through the beaches with effects bus vst as Altiverb (which I do), it will improve the sound effects in mixdown, if treated according to a higher bitrate.  Would poll better mix so he could work in the mastering session.  I assumed that this meant that a higher sampling frequency would also be beneficial.  Maybe not?  I use a lot of high-quality vst effects, so I want to make sure I get the best possible results.  I mean if you have this option and space disk hard isn't a problem, why wouldn't you use it?

It is interesting that the export Audio Mix Down allows me to mix a session from 16-bit to 32-bit files, but if doesn't let me change the sampling frequency.  Maybe I'm not understanding these terms exactly.  I always thought that, for two, more the number, the higher sound quality.

SteveG - tell you it would be a waste of more than 32 bit 44.1 kHz mixing?  What about k of 48 or 96 k?  There is not a noticeable difference?

The sample rate only affects the highest frequency that can be solved - it has no impact on the quality of all, once the rate is high enough to fix all that humans can hear. You determine the highest frequency that can be resolved in any case of the sample given by half to get the "Nyquist" frequency - so 44.1 k the highest frequency that can be fully resolved is 22.05 kHz. The human ear extends up to 20 kHz, but it's only in young children - by the time you reach your teenage years he began to fall, especially if you listen to a lot of loud music... then 44.1 k is already greater than any human condition to the response at high frequency. This overall been proved? You bet it has!

To discover the truth about the hype about the sound quality in general and more bits/sample rate are concerned, you should first read this thread of AudioMasters - and the links it contains. It's of high quality academic research, and all attempts to discredit have been completely ransacked.

Your mastering engineer is correct up to a point, but not really for the right reasons - mixtures of 32 bits are usually more specific, simply because the sums do more accurately and scale of signal is significantly improved. You must keep in mind that the only place where you will hear no appreciable difference with one more high bit depth would be in really quiet parts of reverb tails. The best way to do a mix in Audition is to do all this in 32-bit (which is floating point version of 24-bit anyway) and if he really wants a 24 bit file, you can convert the 32-bit mix after that you have to create a copy of 24-bit integer. As much as the 16-bit CD is concerned, if you (or engineer) procrastinate it properly when you do the master of the 16 bits of the final mix of 32-bit CD, then the effective resolution is higher than 16 - bit anyway - there is also a thread of AudioMasters explaining all this too (it's complicated).

What all the above implies, is that if you keep your mix 32 bit 44.1 k files as they are, if you remaster at a higher sample rate, all you have to do is up-conversion files in hearing. You don't win a single thing in doing that, but then again, you won't lose anything either - and person don't will be able to make a difference! This is not a case of "why don't use you it?" - this is really a case of ' why would you? "

Either way, it should be noted that due to some misinformation presented by people who should really have known better long, understanding of most of the people of sampling is completely and totally false. Once more, a search around AudioMasters will give you a better understanding of the present. If I get a chance later, I'll look on all appropriate threads.

  • CPU frequency and bus on Satellite M30 is too low

    Hello

The processor and my Satellite M30 bus seems to be significantly under speed. According to Windows XP Pro and Solaris Nevada, the processor is clocked at 600 MHz. The frequency of the BIOS, scaling parameter is set to "Still high", and I tried to disable ACPI in the operating system (ensuring no interference on the software side), without result. Power in the Toshiba Power Saver settings are all maxed out, so no scaling should be there either. Intel Processor Identification Utility reports the following:

    Reported expected
    Speed: 1.60 GHz GHz 0.44
System bus: 400 MHz 294 MHz

Note that the tool uses algorithms to determine the speed, rather than trusting the value returned by the operating system, that one of her aims purposes is testing for fraudulenty CPU overclocked by OEMs. The speed as it is for me is even more disappointing. I don't know how long it has been like that, but one thing to note is that the motherboard has been replaced last summer.

Someone has an idea what here? Thank you.

Edit: I also loaded the CPU with CPU-Burn to see if some heavy loads would get understandingly frequency. It has no effect.

    Hello

If you use the advanced search option, you will find a few similar topics with the explanation very clear why unit works with 600 MHz only.

In any case, after the replacement motherboard service must blink mainboard firmware. After doing this it will work at full speed. Because of this, I guess they forgot to do.

It is not a big problem. Please contact again and explain the situation.

  • Equium L40 - 10Z - Microsoft UAA for High Definition Audio bus driver need

OK, this is what s up. I uninstalled Vista of the laptop and installed Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2. All the drivers I installed works fine except my audio driver. There is no sound.

I installed Realtek several times and it installs ok then restart to take effect, but when I restart there is still no sound. Driver installed is listed in Add/Remove programs. I tried for almost a week now to fix this problem and nothing happen.

The pilot was MICROSOFT UAA BUS DRIVER for HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO with a yellow (!) next to it. When I tried open Realtek he said EQ failed or Summit and s there is a sound beep sound from the laptop.

Toshiba virtual sound doesn t work as well. I accidentally uninstalled the driver and now it says device PCI and tells me to insert the disk MICROSOFT UAA BUS DRIVER for HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO but I n t I.

It s been driven crazy and I don't know what to do.
    Please help me!

    Hello

first of all, make sure that you have installed all the important windows updates. All the updates on your system? Ok.

Please visit the www.realtek.com site and download the latest driver for realtek HD sound cards. This driver WORKS 100% because I had a similar problem and after I installed the authentic realtek drivers, I had no problem with the sound.

Hope this works for you, too.

Hello, I use the PXI-8512/2 in a noisy electrical environment so I often get errors on the CAN bus. I noticed that often 8512 stops communicate. In my dual port 8512/2, 4, # LED that flashes normally will eventually turn off. However, I have other devices listening on the same bus; report errors, they continue to stay alive. Is there anyway that I can get the 8512 continue to work in the presence of errors? I use the custom device XNET for VeriStand 2009 and do not see the error handling options. In fact, I don't get any notification of errors at all. I just noticed that my incoming CAN stop signals and my leavers have no effect. Thank you.

    Hello

You shouldn't have to remove from your devices.  Just update the configuration and engine llbs and restart the Explorer system, save your configuration and redeployment.  Let me know if you see problems.

(There are new files also copied into the directory of device custom if you want to use the bus monitor function... so you can replace the entire record of the NOR-XNET if it's easier).

    port 2-> 3 metres of cable-> SMU - 8370-> the 2 SMU-1075 chassis

Problem is that in Windows nipxirfk event log service complained that "PCI Host Bridge: bus Maximum number limit reached before listing all devices, status =-313563 '.

When I tried different things to solve the problem as withdrawal PCI GPIB bus and change SMU bodies on different ports on PCIe card, half of PC USB ports have stopped working and when I changed something the other half stops working

PC has limited the availability of bus numbers:

So I take is not enough PCI bus available on this PC to allocate sufficient resources for all connected devices. There is nothing BIO on bus PCI PC I could delete or nothing to what I could turn off, actually, I have to back PCI GPIB card and who will eat resources. The two bodies SMU are about half full of instruments and I need to add more than a few cards to one of them. PC BIOS is up to date. I was sort of the details with the support OR already, but they do not have solution. Our laboratory has two former HP/workstations DELL (is no longer available) with the limited numbering PCI bus that work with the same two bodies very well. I think that this problem is PC related BIOS and my computer is right on the limit of not working.

Basically, I need to know a few current PC workstation, used successfully to control at least two 2 SMU bodies. If you could check you workstation PCI bus numbering capacity with this tool EITHER:

And display the results here, I would be very grateful.

    Jan,

Some Dell BIOS have an option to set the number PCIe bus max.  A lower number allows more usable in a 32-bit operating system memory.  I saw him in some positions as the T3600 precision work.  On these machines, you access the BIOS and go to system Configurationoption"Configuration of the PCI Bus, and then change the value to something higher (such as 256).  Can you check for this option?

  • CAN frame API with two bus

    Hello

I use a PXI-8461 to control 2 CAN bus lines.

When I run the bus monitor to the MAX, both work correctly (frames are coming).

But I lost a day now to try to make the two lines operate in my application.

I call ncConfigCANNet.vi and ncOpen first with CAN0, then with CAN1.  ncOpen with CAN0 gives me an objHandle, but when I ncOpen cann with CAN1 after that, I get objHandle = 0 but no error!

(I do not use error entries)

So in my application CAN0 is running, CAN1 finally returns an error when I try to read using the objHandle (s is 0).

I even tried to use the example of NEITHER "Multiples CAN Frame API maps unique DAQmx map Input.vi" with the same effect.

Is there a known issue with this subject?

PXI8461 with CAN0 and CAN1 working with the MAX busmonitor

    Sorry, my fault.

I was able to solve the problem. My length of read - and write-queue was too big. I was using 100 for each queue. This works for a CAN interface, but not for 2. And, Yes, there is an error message... I lost this error somewhere in the error handling.

Something beautiful that I used for the first time here is the network debug function for the executable files. Really cool and useful.
