El Capitan Help! I'm stuck on a screen with a bar oblique circle!

I have a MacBook Pro (2011) and I recently got my computer fixed with a new hard drive and this who do not. I went to install El Capitan only then as soon as it finished downloading, it just freezes and returns to a white screen with a slash through it circle. I have not installed Yosemite because I was not so much on the installation of a program bug infested. then when I got my laptop fixed, I knew that I should install El Capitan because on what my father told me. So now it's almost six hours later, and I get this. I'm so scared about what happened to my computer, I back upwards all my important things for flash drives and external hard drive. But now I don't know what to do! I restarted and the white screen, load line looks like 90% done but it does not move. After a few seconds, the display returns to the white screen with a slash of circle. Please help me. I need to know what is the problem with my computer before going back to College in a few weeks!

The prohibitive sign means the computer found the boot disk, but did not find an operating system to boot from.  Start to recovery and reinstall OS X.

  • Stuck on blue screen with Rainbow clouds, floating section did not help.

    As it is said.

When I run Skype, it just goes straight to a blue screen with blue clouds and a rainbow green at the bottom. I get no login prompt. I followed various guides, such as the change of name login Login1, removal of connection, restart the computer, uninstall and then install Skype (which gets me an error code 2734, I think), uninstalled and installed Internet Explorer. I ran windows update and everything is up-to-date. I also followed the advice in the section floating, and even after using the command line (which was not in the Accessories folder, had to search for cmd to find) and reboot, "press this button" does not work.

Skype worked fine on Sunday, and now it's broken. The only thing I've done in the meantime is run a repair tool for Windows Media Player as a game, I have installed required him to play in the music of the game.

EDIT: I am using Windows 7.

  • iPhone 7 more stuck on black screen with the spinning wheel

How can I fix it? I tried to reset, go into DFU mode, recover from iTunes. Nothing works. I can't use iTunes because he wants me to grant access from my iPhone is not responding. DFU mode doesn't work, the screen does not any combination of seconds I hold down the buttons to. This has happened more than an hour. Should I just wait for the battery to die? Please note that I do not live in the United States or the U.K. or anywhere with an Apple Store, I can take it to.

    Thank you

Hello! I think that I may have a solution to our problem of the black screen with the circle of rotation.

I came across this post today because my iPhone all nine 7 (which I've upgraded to the latest ios) also got stuck on a black screen with the circle of rotation. I tried to update some of my apps, when suddenly the screen froze. I clicked once on the home button and the screen become black with the subsequent appearance of the circle of rotation.

I have tried everything - simultaneously press the home button and power (does not work). connected to itunes to do a restore (it won't let me not because my "find my iPhone" was turned on - but I could not turn off because my phone was insensitive).

In any case, a very useful Mr. Damon (Senior Advisor to Apple) helped me via chat to solve the problem.

    Here's what I did:

    1. make sure that your iPhone is disconnected from the socket or the computer.

    2. hold the POWER button and the VOLUME DOWN button at the same TIME. If it works, the screen should turn off almost immediately.

    3. connect your iPhone to the computer. (when I have connected to the computer, my iPhone automatically on and was ready to be reused).

The steps below are for those whose iPhones did not turn with the above steps. The following steps are designed to allow you to disable remote your 'find my iPhone', so you can do a manual restore from iTunes.

    4. go to www.icloud.com.

    5. click on Find iPhone

    6. given that the phone is turned off already, he won't be able to find it. On the top bar, click DEVICES.

    7. click on your iPhone.

    8. click on "delete account".

    9. go into your itunes and do a restore.

I did have to do steps 4 to 9 more, because as I said, my iPhone automatically activated after step 3.

This really worked for me. I hope this works for everyone else too! Have a great day!

If I press ESC at the beginning, it will go to a black screen and it will show the basic information of the computer (information about the processor and memory). • Cannot install the update of El Capitan 10.11.3 (Stuck in gray screen)

I have problems to install the update of El Capitan 10.11.3. Whenever I hit reboot the Mac tries to stop and gets stuck in a dark grey screen. The mouse cursor is visible and mobile. Special keys (sound, light) and layering seems to work.

    What I've tried so far:

First time I waited like half an hour, then restart with start button / stop and normal startup.

    I tried to set the command: sudo/usr/libexec/repair_packages - repair - standard-pkgs - volume.

    The same problem.

    I unplugged all USB devices.

    The same problem.

I tried to update in safe mode.

    The same problem.

    So what to do then?

Are there protocols and where to find them? The update file may be corrupted, so how can I redownload it again? Any other ideas?

This is an iMac mid 2011, 27 ", there are backups Time Machine.

The root of the problem was perhaps not the update itself. For me, it was impossible to shut down or restart as normal. There was a problem with a program called SoundFlower maybe. I was not able to uninstall completely.

I solved the problem for me in restoring a backup Time Machine and then applied the update.

  • Help please - Clip + stuck on USB screen and won't do anything else...

I just bought a little used RockBoxed Clip + someone Head-fi.

The first time I plug the thing into my laptop with intentions of matching with my MediaMonkey software (so I can load it with music and manage, etc.), it crashes with the USB icon lights up on the screen and a few other icons. I discovered that even after disconnection (re-login) the device that this display won't go away no. matter what combination of buttons I push or press and hold for a while.

I included a picture to illustrate what I'm talking about here. I wonder if I should just go ahead and ask the guy to get a refund. Or maybe someone here will know what to do to get this thing not blocked. I tried to look for a pin hole to reset. I saw one at the back of the unit, near the top. I tried using a PIN in the hole, without success (I hope that she is in fact intended to be a reset hole).

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

PS - Sorry, I can't get the picture to load here.

OK, finally got out of this screen after contacting the original vendor (who told me to press and hold the power button for: 20 sec).

  • Grey screen with progress bar stuck while refreshing at 10.11.3... any suggestions?

My screen grey remains with the progress bar stuck on this update... suggestions?

    Mac Pro 2012 (5.1)

Install the update or you complete the update and it is restarted before?

If this is the first installation and it has stopped progress on waiting for installation remove all external devices from your computer except for the mouse and keyboard. If the computer responds you will need to determine if one of these devices is the origin of the problem. If disconnect these devices has nothing to restart and reset the VNRAM with these disconnected devices.

If OS X 10.11.3 was already successfully installed before that date and you can't go past the gray screen, now you must restart in safe mode

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning - Apple Support

If it fails, disconnect all external devices, as recommended above, and repeat the process.

If the computer restarts in safe mode but not normal boot with those external devices separated you may wish to provide us with a report of etrecheck to determine if a software is causing the problem.

Of the likely reasons for software are any application of third party for 'cleaning', 'keep' or otherwise 'anti-virus' packages which are known to the troublemakers on mac OS and must be uninstalled. AV of Mac isn't Windows AV, it is not necessary at the moment and has been cited as a cause of the incompatibility of the system and offers no real protection from the root.

  • Windows XP crashes intermittently when stopping. Stuck on the screen with the default windows background color and the mouse pointer.

We are an OEM that systems of electronic Assembly is based, in our machine is a PC running Windows XP Professional that provides the interface for the operator. Some of our systems have begun to crash intermittently when stopping.  Up to now we have seen it on three machines.  There has been no change to hardware or drivers that we put on these machines.

The PC is supposed to stop at the point were he said "It is now turn off your computer", but it hangs when the only thing on the screen is the default windows background and the mouse pointer. The mouse moves, but that's all. He is unresponsive to ctrl-alt-delete, or any other entry.

This was reported 5 times, and in any case there's nothing in any log file which would tend to indicate where the problem is maybe.

I guess we have a bad driver or device, but the problem only happens once all stops of 5-10, and only after the machine is turned on for a while.

I just turned on the detailed status messages, but they did not stop the machine since.

What I asked is: is it possible to get windows to connect to all events stop? I really want to know what he was doing when he stopped.  Can someone else think something I can look at, or a better way to debug this?

Re: a suggestion on this new monitor to 'prove' is the source of the problem
Disconnect it, connect a type non-ecran touch "ordinary".
stop/restart in safe MODE, make sure that the old monitor is not appear in the Device Manager [what we used to call a ghost]
If it IS, delete it & uninstall the sw provided with touch screen
    Reboot in normal mode
    Try a stop
If you get the old orange it'S now SAFE, tell the seller about IT.

  • x 305-q706 Stuck on splash screen where is says "Qosmio" with please wait...

    Hello

recently purchased a Qosmio x 305-Q706. First time I booted up it gets to start with Qosmio screen displays with "please wait" down and hangs there forever. The only way I can get it to boot is to start cold and purée the key F12 for is loading from the startup screen, if I'm lucky, I can enter the option where you can choose which startup device, and if I manually chose the hard drive I can load windows.

Someone at - he heard of this problem or how to fix it? I tried to change settings in the BIOS nothing. Re-iterate, it is stuck on the screen with Qosmio pslash, and if I press a key on the keyboard once it says "Please wait...". "he brings me just to the bios: (.)

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

This is a very stupid situation and I really don't understand why the laptop hangs at this level to start.
Is somehow your Qosmio confused and cannot decide which device should be the first boot device.
What is some external device connected to your Qosmio laptop?

Maybe update the BIOS can help, but if you have all new laptop is not the solution. This is more recent laptop, and I presume that there latest version of the BIOS. So, if I were you I would contact either your dealer and ask for replacement or Toshiba service directly. This behavior is certainly not strange and laptop crashes somehow on the BIOS/POST (Power-On-Self-Test).

    Hello Smarski,

I don't know what you see for the arrow. I installed the Weather Channel widget and find the normal buttons, including relatives, gadget drag more big size, Options. Try to right-click on it and using the menu shortcut or select move and move the gadget, or select close and then open again to place it in the default location on the desktop.

  • 'Stuck' inside an application with No Way Out

I recently bought an iPad Mini 4, my first iOS device after years of Android. There is much to say about the iPad, and I can see why it has become so popular. There are things that I have to "unlearn" on Android to succeed with the iPad, and that is what is talking about this issue.

When you work with the apps I sometimes find myself 'stuck' inside an application with no way to go back where I was before. There is no visible controls that move to be back, and swipe left/right/up/down does not help. The only thing I can do is quit the application by pressing the Home button.

In Android, I can press the previous to go back to where I was before. I can go back in a full application to the first screen. Can I do this with my iPad Mini 4?

Double-click the home button, then tap the application you want to switch to.
