Elite 8300, re - install windows 7 problem on new drive

Hi all

I juist bought a number of the PC Elite 8300. I want to install an SSD of replacement instead of the player that comes with the unit.

I can happily re - install windows, but it won't catch the key of windows since the bios and not asking the license key during the installation is complete.

I use a windows 7 Professional dvd. I even tried restoring factory DVD but they complain that the disk is smaller than the original.

Thank you

Hello:

The key in the BIOS is only good for W8.

You need a product key of Windows 7 to install W7.

If your PC came with the W8 Pro (which no doubt), you do not have the rights to downgrade, but you'll have to contact HP support for sorting.

I don't know what to tell you.

Basically, they have to provide you with a W7 product key in order to install W7 Pro.

Recovery disks only works on the same hard disk of size (or more) like the one provided with your PC.

The hard drive on my HP desktop computer failed and died.  I don't have a recovery disk.  Can I reinstall windows XP on a new drive as Windows XP product key is located on the cover of PC.  If so, how?  Any suggestion please!

With the procuct only key?  No, you cannot, the product key is just a combination of 25 alphanumeric characters, where the installation files will come from?   You will need to contact HP for a recovery disc.

  • HP a6130n install Windows XP on the new drive

    Hello

This is my first post here.  I think I need a new hard drive for my a6130n HP install Windows XP.

When I tried to install Windows XP on the drive – which had Vista - I kept getting several error messages whenever I tried.  Once or twice I was told to press a button if I was going to enter additional drivers out of a CD.  Then I learned all my space partition was used, so I thought that my hard drive was dead.

I installed XP on Dells before and it was pretty simple - and never asked me if I had to add drivers.  So, I wonder, if indeed, my current hard drive is dead, can I 'just' put in a new HD Sata, get ready to go on a CD disc or memory - a6130n HP drivers and load Windows XP?

Or should I find and buy a new hard drive with XP already and the drivers loaded and not try to do it myself?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for all your help!

I'll try that... once more!  With a new/good HD!

  • Install Windows 7 on the new drive hard but no disc

My hard drive has failed recently and I replaced it myself. Now I am trying to install Windows 7 as operating system, but I do not have a disk. All I have is the product key. What should I do? Any help would be appreciated!

If you do not have a Windows 7 installation disc, you can download an ISO. You will need the key code off the coast of the COA, not key code sticker that used the pre-installation.

  • Cannot install Windows 8 with the new drive, because the key will not

I just rebuilt a 64-bit pc. I had windows 7 on it and decided to do a clean install of windows 8. Bought a version OEM from Amazon yesterday. Arrived today and the disc was in double sealed package of Microsoft Corporation.  The package comes with the key in very small print on the back that I had to read with a magnifying glass. This key is not accepted during the installation of the software. I checked that it was OK and I tried several times but the key has not been accepted. What should I do now?

    Hello

I assume you are using the disk that came with the OEM key to install your system? If you are then the only people who can help you is the team of Microsoft License, you can contact them here:

  • How to install Windows 7 on the new hard drive?

I changed the old hard drive (500 GB) with a new hard dirve (1 Tera) and now I have two problems:-

    1. how to install Windows 7 on a new hard drive?

    2. my laptop came preinstalled Windows 7 Pro, but all the DVD kit (disk reclaimer Application & discs) + Revocer operating system, which has been provided (by Lenovo) for the laptop is in the Windows 8 Pro. So, how to install Windows 7 Pro, my laptop while all the DVD sets are in Windows 8 Pro?

either way, this is my laptop spec (for reference); -

    * Note *.
I intend to install Windows 7 Pro on my new hard drive using another DVD of Windows 7 (not DVD provided by Lenovo), but how do all Leveno program located in the disk 'Application & recuperator readers' (by example; - Lenovo system health and Diagnostics, Lenovo Power Control, Lenovo Fingerprint Reader) to install this hard drive? (as I told you before, all the DVD kit is at or only for Windows 8 Pro)

I hope someone will help me answer my question,
    Thank you

    I found the solution.

Response to question 1; using a recovery & backup software to clone my current operating system, and then transfer them to my new hard drive.

Response to question 2; Download all drivers and software (all the application that located on the DVD of the kit I have) on the official website of Lenovo.

or another solution, send to a computer service shop and let the experts (workers) install it for me (the most simple and sure way).

  • Install Windows 7 on a new 3 TB hard drive

I'm trying to install Windows 7 on a new 3 TB hard drive.  During the installation, I get a screen that says no hard drives have been found.  Windows installs the boot files on the X startup disk but nothing else.  The motherboard is an Intel DZ68BC and the Bios is set to boot from the UEFI.  All of the suggestions.

    Hello Keith,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for details on the issue.

This problem can occur if the storage controller and chipset drivers are not updated or due to incorrect BIOS settings.

  • Re-install Windows 7 on a new PC

    Hello

I have Windows 7 Home Premium version installed on my laptop (which is about 8 years old). I configured a new laptop and trying to install Windows 7 on the new machine with the license that I bought earlier. I can't activate the license and I guess that's because the license is always associated with my old laptop. Is it possible that I can separate my Windows 7 license from the old laptop and assign it by the new?

    Thanks & best regards.
