EliteBook 8470p: EliteBook 8470p GPU

Hey guys! I have a question about the 8470p with the core i5 3380 Mr. P EliteBook 8470 all come with a dedicated gpu? I have yet to find someone online with a p 8470 without a dedicated gpu. If I have one that does not appear in Device Manager and I can't seem to find when I opened the laptop.

It looks like you most likely have a 4000 Intel HD integrated Graphics GPU.

It's worse than you think. The above specifications are for the 8570w, which is a different machine. The 8570p welded on video, whether discrete or integrated. So basically, there is no upgrade except the motherboard swap whole. It doesn't have an MXM slot. And there is no external video option on this generation of equipment that deserves to be discussed.

  • HP Elitebook 8470p: bios password forgotten

Can I get the default bios password for.

    HP Elitebook 8470p

    Series: [personal information]

    Product: C3J53UP #ACB

    Hello

Unfortunately, business machines such as Probooks or EliteBook have more strict security consumption patterns - they do not produce "stop codes", the password cannot be derived from the serial number and the code is stored in a nonvolatile memory to remove the RTC cell does not reset the password in this case.

If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a file custom SMC.bin that you can use to reset the password at startup.

  • EliteBook 8470p: EliteBook 8470p USB 3.0 ports driver not installed in Window 7 Ultimate 32 bit

    Dear Sir.

I am facing problem in installing driver for USB 3.0 in EliteBook 8470p on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit Port. So please say if 32-bit is taken in charge or 64-bit supported for USB 3.0 driver.

its two USB 3.0 ports doesn't detect the USB 2.0/USB 3.0 or USB key (Flash DRIVE, portable, etc.)

    Please answer soon

    Hello:

The usb controller you model posted ID indicates that your laptop is not a p 8470, but a p 8460.

You need this driver usb 3 to this ID.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp54501-55000/sp54511.exe

The 8470p have the Intel USB3 controller and the 8460 p have the Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller.

That's why I finally asked for hardware ID, because if you had a 8470 p then or the other of these Intel drivers I posted should have worked.

  • EliteBook 8470p: remove the custom logo of 8470p - using EREPLOGO. EFI

I just bought a used HP EliteBook 8470p who I am in reconstruction.

The previous owner (who I didn't contact) changed the POST logo screen, appearing briefly at startup to display a political statement - I want to remove and restore the default the HP Logo.

HP (702342-001, created in June 2012) technical white paper, I determined the following high level steps:

-I'm running BIOS 2012 generation specifications

-The EREPLOGO of HP. EFI utility is required to make the changes by using the option "ereplogo /e.

-J' I run the EREPLOGO. Utility of EFI "EFI Boot file" option in the Menu "Startup Options".

    Questions please:

Is this still the correct way to implement this change?

The white paper and the SoftPAQ containing the utility (sp58176.exe) are both dated 2012. Here is the latest version available? That is 4 years old!

    Thank you.

For those interested, I managed to solve the problem that I came with the help of this EREPLOGO. The EFI utility.

The utility is available for download in the software and drivers for my device (HP EliteBook 8470p) Web page and I followed the steps described in the technical documentation that accompanies the download. Crime (in this case) logo has been removed by the use of a control subject via the EFI Shell to start setting switch.

So yes, it's getting a little old, but the utility worked perfectly on my system BIOS UEFI.

    Thanks HP!

  • 8470p: Elitebook 8470p help install XP

    Hello

    I need help.

I want to install Win XP 32 bit on my Elitebook 8470p, which came with Win8. I need to do a clean XP install on the laptop.

If anyone can help me please you through the steps necessary to install XP on this laptop?

I have a bootable CD with installation of XP, I start the installation but the laptop freezes at the "Setup starts windows" and displays the BSOD with acpi.sys inside.

I tried many options in the BIOS, like disabling AHCI and activation IDE mode and a lot of other options, but no one allows to go beyond this error.

    Thank you.

    Hello:

Set the drive controller setting in the BIOS to AHCI.

Also enable the legacy mode in the BIOS, that must disable secure boot.  XP is not compatible with secure startup.

Then read the info at the link below, section of Intel.  Then read the info on the downloadable document for how to integrate all the sata drivers.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-operating-system-and-recovery/SATA-drivers-for-XP-solution-on-0x0000007B-BSOD/m-p/114120#M17758

I compressed upwards and tied the drivers that you need wake below.

Slipstream the unzipped file the entire file.

  • HP EliteBook 8470P: simple exchange of ssd with hard disk?

I just bought a 1 t Samsung SSD 850 EVO 2.5 "SATA drive III to replace the hard drive in my Elitebook 8470P. Is that going to be just a simple swap where I remove the old hdd and plug the new ssd? That was the plan, but I have been wrong before passing.

I have 2 images of system backup if necessary.  I disabled the auto Defrag in my security software. I am completely new to ssd and would have had to ask this before I dropped a bundle on one, but it is what it is. Any help is appreciated.

    Hello

It is possible and I hope that your backup image is appropriate.

    Kind regards.

    Hello

I understand your question and if you have a consumer unit, we could have you based on the serial number or other codes desable, you have a commercial unit and security that is high compared with other units... If you want the device to be able to work, you will need to discuss with HP support, call your local support tech, they can only help you.
