  We had a few HP 1020 and 1040: models recently, and all have the same question. When the laptop is connected, the external keyboard does not work in the form of Bitlocker. It works in the BIOS and in Windows itself, but not in Bitlocker. This means that we must open the laptop screen to enter the Bitlocker pin, then let it open and GPO that dictates the computer into hibernation when the lid is closed.   If the bios is up to date, I would look at the BIOS settings. I think that Fast Boot is enabled in your case, this may cause usb devices not to see in the stadium that BitLocker requires

  I have a Macbook Pro (non-retina display) mid-2012. I have a mini VGA screen that worked throughout the year and all of a sudden, it doesn't seem to work. My computer recognizes the new monitor (screen flickers and flies all content secondary screen) but the projector does not display anything. I tried to reconnect the cable, the cable VGA switch to turn on the projector and turn off, restart my computer and clouds of dust on the connections. Sometimes if I move the connection just that will work, but if I so much as breathe on it or watch funny it stops and I can't get it back.

  Jiggle the cable or adapter is something different, you have a physical adapter or cable problem. Any bit-reversal can help that.

  I can't say with certainty what may be wrong here, but two things confuse me:
  -somehow your external MIC is obviously not detected because in the case when the external microphone is connected laptop switches automatically to it
  -I don't understand why there are two identical entries under recording devices.

  When I connect my headphone it is always a single entry (Conexant SmartAudio HD default unit), but my machine automatically goes to the external microphone only.

  Have you tested the feature with some applications like Skype?

  1. What is the brand and model of your computer?

  2 how you connect the projector?

  I suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

  a. connect to a projector to your laptop, start the laptop under windows and turn on the projector. The projector will show its default projection.

  b. go to the Windows, made desktop right click Properties, choose settings, then advanced.

  c. go to the TwinView tab. It should be in Standard mode. Below, select Detect displays and it should work and obviously the blink of projector or the thrill and then device settings option should be visible. Select it.

  d. choose option "Select output device", then this screen, select the analog monitor, click ok, and then again on ok when it gives you the last rites and then after dark for the laptop and projector, should get windows on the projector.

  To get the video on the screen of the laptop too:

  a. go to TwinView and select Clone. Then OK and OK again, and after a dark other period, Windows should be both.

  To return to normal, turning off the projector and disconnect it from the computer.

  I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook and questions with external screen works not properly. You can try this without the connected external monitor.

  In Device Manager, click the arrow next to display adapters to expand this category
  Right-click on the graph, and then select Update driver software if more than 1 graphic adapter do 1 at a time.
  Select search automatically for updated driver software.

  The laptop must find and automatically install the updated driver
  Once the installation is complete, restart your laptop.

  You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows 10.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

  2. You receive an error message?
  3. You have security software installed on the computer?
  4. Have you performed an installation clean Windows XP and even after that this problem exists?

  Method 1

  As the computer starts up fine in safe mode there is a possibility that some third-party programs installed on the computer is the origin of the problem.

  I suggest that you configure the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

  To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  You has made changes to the system before the error appearing?  Cancel the changes.

  (1) in Device Manager > right click on the driver, and then select uninstall

  Reboot and Windows will reload the driver

  (2) remove the upper & lower filters that cause errors in Code 31
