  I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 a A190.  It is installed as a printer of cable network and I have the HP printer software installed on two different computers on the network.  Recently, when I open the uiltity of the printer, it seems to have changed.  I have 4 options to choose (Assistant to HP printer, see what's printing, set preferences, and customize your printer).  When I opened the consul of the printer, it used to take me directly in the wizard HP printer utility.   This in itself and is not a problem.

  The problem is that when I try to open the utility Wizard HP printer, nothing happens.    The Assistant HP printer utility allows me to perform maintenance on the printer (IE clean print heads), check the cartridge ink levels, scan and much more.  I opened the utility Wizard HP Print of computers.  I would say that something has changed in the last week or two.   This is impacting on both computers.  I even uninstalled all HP computers printer software and reinstalled.  Nothing has changed.

  Any thoughts?

  Try to remove the software completely by clicking on start > all programs > HP > HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 and follow the uninstall option.

  Then go to control Panl > programs and features > uninstall a program and remove reminders of the software (HP Customer Participation, Readi Iris OCR, etc.).

  Download and install the latest version of the software below:

  Then look for any change when access to the printing software.

  my HP Officejet Pro 8500 wireless printing works fine, but I can't get the scanner to work - it does not able to communicate with the HP device. My operating system is Windows Vista.   I thought I knew the answer to this question - but yesterday when I printed a for a friend Print printer owner's manual 10 sheets you had to RETURN the sheet to read the text on the other side (Note: FLIP was not 'X' would.)  Then when I printed again, I changed the setting so that FLIP was 'X' d and it print with the guidance I needed (just return the sheet to read the text on the back of the sheet).

  NO instruction on the "printer settings" supplied with the printer, so I'm in the dark about 'HOW TO' of things.  As I said I thought that I need how do - but she done exactly backwards as I thought, I'm TOO old to remember HOW TO set the settings?  Would appreciate some help with this and where I can do to get the info on the HP printer settings.  Thanks in advance.

  I assume you are using Windows 7

  For 1)

  Click Start. Go to "devices and printers".

  Double-click the printer icon.

  Click Customize the printer

  Click on Preferences

  Click on "Print on both sides" and select «Back long edges»

  For 2)

  Repeat the same steps but select "return on the short edge.

  You can find the same preferences when you click on Preferences in the menu print (Ctrl + P)

  After I double-click the file, it starts to extract and after it is finished, nothing happens.

  I stop the firewall, but with the same result.

  Thanks for your help. When I read it, I realized that it would be also possible to install the firmware from another computer on my network and that did the trick. However, your advice may indicate another problem on my computer, so I'll try it anyway.

  This is because the name of the printer and the fax is too long.  In Windows, use the properties of the printer (and fax) to change the name to something like HP and HP Fax printer.

  Tried to load the complete package of windows 8. did not work.  Tried it on 2 10 Windows - had already installed win10 and the other has been upgraded to win7.  I REALLY need to be able to scan.  Any suggestions out there?

  There are 10 Windows drivers available for your Officejet 8500, and you must install the full features drivers correct and the file of the software for it to work.   The printer Officejet 8500 A909 series does not work with ePrint. You can use the House ePrint and Biz app for Android and Semien devices or application ePrint for iOS devices.   I am trying to install my printer Hp Officejet Pro 8500 A909g Wireless - towards the end. The automated process directed me register my product. Despite the fact that during the process that my printer has been identified correctly, trying to "choose your product" registration - this particular model is not not to be found. There are other printers A909 - but not the A909g - that is the wireless. Because I'm not able to continue the registration - automated installation just keep running the message "installation."

  Any ideas how to overcome that?

  I managed to understand the bug in the system:
  At the beginning of the installation process, it asks you "How do you connect to this device. If you answer 'USB' I have to do - you don't get to choose a printer model that can be used also by WiFi. When I started the beginning and chose the 'WiFi' or network then only will be the "WiFi" - as the A909g - models appear also on the selection of the devices list.
  I hope that guys in HP will fix one day. After all, the 'main' desktop PC can connect to the device by USB, while other devices in WiFi.

  I understand that you are having problems with the printer via the wireless network. I will definitely do my best to help you.

  Since you have moved, you must install the printer on the network.

  If you haven't already done so, restore the default settings of the network printer. Go to configuration, network, restore default network.

  Then set up the printer on the network again.

  Follow this document:

  Configure the printer to a wired network or wireless for the HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-all-in-One Printer Series.

  When was the last time the devices were power cycled?

  I recommend an oil change of the full power of the system:

  Unplug the router when turned on

  * Wait 30 seconds

  * Connect Router and wait for it to reboot completely

  * Reboot the computer after the powers of the router to the top

  Unplug the printer when turned on

  Disconnect the other end of the power cord from the wall outlet

  * Wait 30 seconds

  * Plug the printer back to

  Try to print now that everything has been updated.  If the unit still does not print, then get the IP address of the printer.  This can be achieved in the Setup Menu > wireless Menu.  Check the IP address which seeks the printing software.

  * Click Start menu on PC

  * Select all programs

  * Select the HP folder

  * Select the folder for the HP Officejet Pro 8500 a A910 series

  * Select update the IP address

• cannot not to download the software driver for USB connected HP Officejet pro 8500 A909a

  My HP Officejet pro 8500 A909a is NOT a wireless printer.  It is connected via a USB port.

  I tried both find and download the drivers for this printer and also using the wizard to download and installation of HP (hppiw.exe).  The download was interrupted just by using the method and when you use the wizard it correctly identified the printer, but then I get the message

  "the download was cancelled.  You can click the "start over" button to try again. »

  the retry button just returns the same message after a short.

  I'm using a windows 7 PC.
