• Outlook express 6 - part email not more folded in the Inbox

  A large number of emails from my Inbox is not folded over since last Thursday (age of less than 23 January 2011 all mails).  For new messages that arrive, I see the number of unread mails (next to Inbox a header) but the message itself is not visible. When you import directory on another computer, the program indicates there are 3000 messages but only 1,000 are really imported and visinle on the other computer.  How can I fix this?   Thank you

  Very often the reception (or any other folder) is corrupted, and the messages are lost.  Often, the space where the messages were suddenly filled with zeros.  This is compounded by antivirus software (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).

  The first thing to do is to check the Recycle Bin and the message store (found via Tools |) Options | Maintenance | Advanced | Store folder and its hidden) for the bak files are backups of the dbx can restore files made before compaction of the messages, which, if present you it.  See point 2 on the above page and also www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#imp1

  If there is no bak file, then your only chance at recovery is probably my DBXpress program (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/) which can extract messages from the dbx corrupted files (if they don't fill up with leading zeros) or from the hard drive itself, if the files contain more messages.  Its the only program with this capability.

  In the future, make sure that you back up your messages regularly, as this happens often, especially with files very large dbx.

  I'm new to forums please bare with me.

  I asked a question and received with gratitude a two responses from 'Nancy', another Member.

  Now, I want to close all my discussions so that they appear not in the pages of "content" window so that the database is not unecesarily strewn waste discusions and other members of the allowing easier navigation for their responses.

  Discussions here are rarely locked by the moderators.  If you specify what answer was correct, that puts a green ball/check by the thread & finish usually more detailed discussions.  However, it can get resurrected later by someone else with a related issue.  But this forum Gets an intense activity, which is not too common.

• Conversion of the discussions of the Forum Pages

  I have contributed on a forum of philosophy for a few years and just downloaded all of my text messages. There is a lot of it! This is a readable text file but he got all the information tag inside, the words in italics and quotes tags around them in the hooks.

  Why not just copy the formatted text and which paste directly into Pages? The formatting will be retained but perhaps also all line breaks, if there is.

  You have only the tags because you it converted to txt using the browser/player.

  If it is in fact nothing, but formatting HTML/XML, try to open it in LibreOffice [free] and see if it opens as formatting, because then you can simply save it as Word .docx and open in the Pages.

  Why do you want to open in Pages anyway?

• 9.1 Safari can not post on the forums

  When I try to post on some forums I get messages like "something went wrong please try later."

  When I use another browser (Chrome) it works OK.

  This does not occur on all the forums, but it's annoying when things are not going as I want to use Safari as my browser unique.

  Go step by step and test.

  1. click  in the menu bar and select "force quit."

  Select Safari and click "exit of strength at the bottom of the window to Force Quit.

  Hold down the SHIFT key and launch Safari.

  2 empty Caches

  Safari > Preferences > advanced

  Tick the box "Show develop menu in menu bar."

  Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.

  Click on develop and select 'Empty cache' in the menu dropdown.

  3. Delete Cookies

  Safari > Preferences > privacy > Cookies and other data from the website:

  Click on the button "Details".

  Delete all cookies except those from Apple, your internet service provider and the banks.

  I have laptop Dell Vostro 5470, with installed Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bit.

  I installed the driver of fingerprints and DigitalPersona 6.2 update, in a different sequence, but still - the drive is visible in the Device Manager, but NOT visible for the connection of Windows of fingerprints or DigitalPersona.

  I searched and tried various solutions (including fingerprints etc. sensor drivers.).

  Still no luck. And this seems to be a Driver problem Dell (last sensor driver is y2013, and there are a few discussions of the forum still unresolved).

  That made Apple to fix the problem where the body of emails is endangered and there is a note saying the e-mail was not downloaded from the server?  It's also appear on messages that are put in the trash.  I have a pop.earthlink account and understand that it affects the pop accounts.  The problem started after I downloaded IOS 9 and is much worse.  Messages received yesterday are now endangered, however some messages that I received in early November before downloading the new software still exist and are very good.

  POP accounts are generally customer (as opposed to the server function) and stored on your device.  If your device on space is insufficient, the settings for the e-mail may restrict downloads on your device, resulting in the message in question.   This is particularly true for all messages that come with attachments or are preformatted html.   Ask your contacts to send messages in plain text.

• OfficeJet 6500: Fax appears not when you add the printer with El Capitan

  I've just upgraded to El Capitan.  I have a 6500 Officejet and Officejet 6700 on the network and that you can print on both but fax is not working.

  I tried to delete faxes from the Printers & Scanners window in the settings, but when I try to add more once they are not appearing in the list.  When I click on add everything I see is the following:

  

  It should be an option fax for two (well I want that the created such as 6700 6500 is not connected to a phone line).  Anything I can try to get the Fax option to appear so that I can set up the Fax network (the printer is in a different area of the building so my work around printing and then manually fax is a pain - unfortunately, one of our main suppliers insists on faxes and will not accept orders by email if I need this to work!)

  By the way I tried selecting the 6500 in the list and then change the print to fax driver driver in the area of USE, but the printer is not sending it by fax - print only a few pages of garbage.

  Any help would be great because I find it very frustrating.  Also, I have another Mac with Yosomite on which has the same problem, so I don't think it's specific to El Capitan (but mine was working when I got Yosomite, but I installed the printer/fax under an earlier version originally).

  Try to update the software by following these steps:

  First of all make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to your Mac or on the same network.

  Click on the Apple icon, then select about this Mac.
  Click software update, and then click the Store from the top of the indicated window menu and click on reload the Page.

  Be sure to install any update HP or Apple, then check for the difference.

  If it persists, try manually install the package below:

  Search for now no difference.

  Note that it may take up to a minute for the Fax queue to appear.

• emails not sent to microsoft outlook

  I have not received emails on outlook since July, it's extremely frustrating. I can access my hotmail via the internet, however, prefer to use microsoft outlook. I also began to receive a box requires me to enter my network password.  I walked several times, but the box keeps reappearing every minute.  I have reset my hotmail password and entered it in the box pop up, but it still seems.  I don't have this problem when the mail is delivered for iphone.  The mail has been delivered to my phone, I have not opened, but checked to see if it appears in outlook on my computer, but apparently not. It is strange that it worked perfectly until the beginning of July and all of a sudden nothing.  I've had my iphone for 2 years so don't think what could be the problem.  How can I get my emails sent to outlook and how can I get the annoying pop up box to stop appearing?  If I have to re - setup my e-mail in outlook, I have lost all my emails stored in folders under my Inbox?  Can you confirm the settings, I need a hotmail address to receive/send emails.

  It would be a good question for the experts in a forum of Outlook.
