• Any way to recreate a link to 50 pictures at once without matching filenames? that is by replacing the links existing and just replace with new ones?

  I wonder if this can be done with a script in InDesign. I work in 2015 CC and am aware of mobility + select all the links in my control panel links, then click the 'Repeat' in order to recreate a link to each one in succession. But this method still requires me to click on the link I want 50 times, in order to link to these new images in the dialog box that appears.

  That I work with, it's an InDesign file that has 50 different related images, all the same size. They are all small JPEGs arranged in a grid. I create a PDF of each sheet of 50. I need to make several sheets, and each of the 50 images is unique and should not be repeated, so filenames are all unique, so why InDesign is unable (and in this case shouldn't) link to each of them by using the option 'search for missing links in this folder. In order to make each sheet, currently I have to select each JPEG link in the links Panel and manually connect it to a different file name, is not equivalent. It takes me some time.

  Is it possible to automate this process for I can select all 50 instances of links essentially and force InDesign be reprinted at 50 other, even in form and oriented files with no corresponding names, is one fell swoop?

  This is easily achievable with data fusion. You must copy your file in an excel worksheet names and the column with the name "@ at the beginning, if InDesign will be acknowledged that they should be images." Then set up a module on the page, and you'll be ready to go.

  You can add a hyperlink field in the document before sending it to the signature from preview page and drag and drop the field by specifying the link inside. This feature is available in Enterprise going.

• "Embed Project Link & Copy" feature really went to AE CS4!

  I have not yet updated any of my 3 machines of After Effects to CS4 and have used that temporarily CS4 on machines of others, so I didn't even feature was removed... If he really, I never updated beyond CS3 until there is once again an AE with this feature version.   I really don't understand what's wrong with the good old ain't - broke - don't - fix approach. I certainly don't mean that the new features should not be added to AE because "it's not broken", but it is very difficult to understand why the characteristics that have enabled the software become as widely adopted as it is are suddenly be removed without very convincing reasons.

  I certainly understand what it looks like from the outside: something has been deleted would have made no effort to maintain. But consider that this is not how often software development. Because the people who add new features, fix bugs and maintain the old features are the same people, you get more new features or fixes when some features old, (apparently) not used are removed.

  Given I know each AE user relies very heavily on this feature, it seems clear that much too small sample groups are used for a program with so many users over such a long period of time.

  Exactly what first version you have installed? 7.1, the option 'Preserve interpret the parameters of the images' was added to link media dialog box.

• Why the clipping masks are made for a Place/Embed?

  I have a simple and clean logo with a couple of transparent traces (letters like the 'e', 'A').  There is no clipping paths.  Everything works very well in this file, if I save it, re - open and edit, etc..

  If I have 'Place' or drag this file in a brand new, delete the file and then 'Embed' work, it creates 2 the size of the artboard clipping masks.  More importantly, it messes up the transparent traces so that I have to select them and use the shape mode "Unite" so that it can work properly.  I see this when trying to add a line to the letters... the race is broken until I use the button on the unit.  Even undo the compound path and redo it does not work.  In the image as an attachment, you can see how a place is broken, as well as the way in which 'inside' or 'outside' is available for embedded version.

  What gives?

  I have a powerpoint file of 70 slider that have links within the presentation. As there is a home button on each slide, which, once clicked in slide show view takes the user to the introductory slide...

  Also, there are about 20 witnesses each is linked to its description slide and the Slide descripti0on has also a link back to return to the slide which mentions the control.

  Since you mention intelligent forms, I assume you are using 6 Captivate. Normally the links will not be imported, but you can create in Captivate.

  Did you know you can put an image in a smart form? Make sure you know the dimensions in pixels of the image, create a smart shape of rectangle with the same dimensions, then use the third icon in the accordion of filling (marked as Texture), then navigate to the image. If the image has a transparent pixels, make sure to set the quality of the blade high or optimized.

  You cannot link an image to a slide, but if you have a smart form, which can be used as a button that can have the action 'jump to slide"attached to it. Another approach is to put a box click on the image (click box is transparent) and add the action in the click box.

  BTW: a smart shape can also double as a rollover, so you can create a ToolTip in this way.
