Emission of Radio AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 power

Hi experts,

I have some of these WAP and they all high gain 8dbi antennas. I wonder if I need to adjust the 'local cck/ofdm power' to certain values to match the antenna gain for that to work the best. The radio works in b/g mode. This is the current configuration of the interface Dot11Radio0.

Hello

# You don't have to configure the power setting.  You can configure any desired power value, allowing AP to offset the gain of antenna to make sure that the TX power is wrong on the FCC regulation.

  • AIR-AP1231G and PoE

    Evening,

I have a number of AIR-AP1231G scattered in my factory. All are fed power inline injectors and are working properly.

I am wanting to buy a number of PoE switches that will have the task off the injectors inline for an easier game to the top.

I bought a Cisco 300 Series 10 Max PoE Switch port, however the AIR-AP1231G won't start when you plug into the switch. No light on the switch or the AP.

Oddly enough, I have an AP1242G AIR of what powers well without any problem of the switch.

Is there any configuration, I need to do on the access point so that it can turn on from the switch? The datasheet of the switch indicates that it is 802.3af. I tried the access point on the 10MP models of 28 p of the 300 series and no go.

Can someone tell me please in the right direction? I'm really lost and PoE is slightly beyond me at the minute.

    Hi Tim,.

    You are welcome

Yes, it's worth a try. The 1230 is shown as it is supported.

  • Set up the AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 for WGB (IOS 12.4 JA (13d)

    Hello

I'm trying to set up one of our extra 1231 AP as a workgroup bridge. The AP has been configured as a lightweight access point so I think maybe that's part of my question.

It was the documentation that I found to do the config: http://cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/12.4_3g_JA/configuration/guide/s43hot.html

However, I don't have the available commands that they list.

    Here is HS worm info:

Is it not possible with the IOS and the AP I have?

    Hi Eric,.

I'm just curious, did you convert the AP to IOS already?

    This can be converted to a standalone/stand alone AP you want;

    Here is a method of conversion;

    Returning to standalone Access Point

You can convert an access point of the mode light return to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS version that supports stand-alone mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3 (7) JA or earlier version). If the access point is associated with a controller, you can use the controller to load the version of Cisco IOS. If the access point is not associated with a controller, you can load the version of Cisco IOS using TFTP.

By using a TFTP server to revert to a previous version

Follow these steps to return mode LWAPP stand-alone mode by loading a version of Cisco IOS using a TFTP server:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1 the IP address of the computer on which the server software runs TFTP should range from 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.30.

Step 2 make sure the PC contains the file access point (for example, c1200-k9w7 - tar.122 - 15.JA.tar for a 1200 Series access point) in the TFTP server folder and the TFTP server is activated.

Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the folder of the TFTP server c1200-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1200 point, c1130-k9w7 - tar.default of access for a series of 1130 access point and c1240-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1240 access point.

Step 4 connect the PC to the access point using an Ethernet category 5 cable (CAT5).

Step 5 disconnect the power to the access point.

Step 6 push the MODE button and hold the button while you reconnect power to the access point.

Step 7 hold the MODE button until the status of the LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds), then release.

Step 8 wait until restarting access point, as indicated by the LEDs become green followed the status LED flashes green.

Step 9 after the access point reboots, reconfigure using the GUI or the CLI.

    I hope this helps!

  • my laptop plays random sounds unrelated to what I'm doing. sounds like radio? sometimes continuley, sometimes power on and off

I can't understand what is running when this happens. These sounds run even using programs where there should be no sound. no IE addons. a fact, since I got this computer. Help

    Hello

You can open the Task Manager and verify that all processes are running in the background that can play sounds.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-Task-Manager

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/understanding-process-information-in-Task-Manager

    Method 1:

This happens usually when the computer is infected with the virus or some add-ons are originally from the pop - ups play. You have already mentioned this is not a case of Add-ons, again you can go to the link below and check the Add-ons, if by chance they are causing the problem.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-the-Internet-Explorer-add-on-Manager

    Method 2:

In addition, run a scan of your computer virus and check if that is the question.

  • Add AIR-LAP1522AG-E-K9 to the FCC (-) field of regulation

    Hello

I would check with you experts, it is possible to register for AIR-LAP1522AG-E-K9 to our existing WLC who has (-A) configuration of FCC?

It is a network of outdoor mesh and all other access points are AIR-LAP1522AG-A-K9 (FCC).

I always get an error that it has an invalid country code, and I couldn't even do a ping it after having acquired an IP address from the DHCP server.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

    You may want to consider this WLC setting;

    Version 4.1 or higher.

    Configuration of country Codes

Controllers and access points are designed for use in many countries with various regulatory requirements. The radios in the access points are assigned to an area of specific regulation in the plant (e.g.-e for Europe), but the country code allows you to specify a particular country of operation such as (FR for the France) or TO the Spain. A country code Setup ensures that the emission of radio frequency bands, interfaces, channels and transmitting power of levels conform to regulations.

Generally, you configure a country code by the controller, one corresponding to the physical location of the controller and its access points. However, version 4.1 or later of the controller software allows you to configure up to 20 codes of countries by the controller. This support for multiple countries allows you to manage access points in various countries of a single controller.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note well that the controller supports different access points in the different regulatory domains (countries), it requires all the radios in a single point of access to be configured for the same regulatory domain. For example, do not configure a Cisco 1231 802 access point. 11 b / g radio for the United States (-) regulatory area and its 802. 11A radio for Britain (-E) regulatory area. Otherwise, the controller allows only access point radios to market, according to which regulatory area, you have selected for the access point on the controller. Therefore, make sure that the same country code is set to two radio access point.

    The good doc.

  • Aironet 1200 series - power of the weak signal near AP

I recently bought an access point of the Aironet 1200 (AIR-AP1231G-A-K9) series and the initial setup - IP configuration on the AP, the installer does a SSID and turn on the radio.

I used my laptop to connect to the SSID that I created, but to my surprise the signal strength of my SSID was only 2 bars and sometimes 1 bar and I'm within 2 feet of the access point. However, the speed of connection/signal quality was varying between 24 Mbps and 36 Mbps.

Why is the signal strength so low?

Is is because I did not buy them with external antennas?

I missed something during the initial Setup?

Y at - it an option that I have change/fine adjust in the GUI to get the best signal strength?

    Help, please.

"Is is because I did not buy them with external antennas?

Yes, that's correct. There is no internal antennas on this model of AP.

You need at least one, preferably two antennas of the same type for each radio. If you have the old 'A' radio with the paddle antenna, then you only need one or two antennas of radio 2.4 G.

    Good luck

  • Air-AP1200

I'll order "AIR-AP1231G-E-K9" and requires external antennas. I need directlty antennas linked to this no wireless access point. "AIR-ANT4941" antinna is correct for this requirement. If it's the right choice, I have to order two "AIR-ANT4941" or one order can meet the requirement of two antinaas diversity.

AIR-ANT4941 is the correct antenna, and Yes, you need to order 2 of them.

  • Can I insert a nano card into an iPhone 6 to activate and get him out?

I got an iPhone 6 or 6 s one of my friends. He said that I needed to provide my own sim card. I know that you use a sim card to activate the phone. In my case I will not use the iPhone as a real phone but like an iPod. I understand that the sim card doesn't have to be an active card. But it can not be disabled or theft. But my main concern is: can I insert the nano for the activation of start card and put it, I can remove it and it will still work without it in?

    Note: I'm not 100% if the iPhone is a 6 or 6 s?

Yes. It takes a SIM card to activate the device with Apple. Once activated, you can remove it and use the iPhone as an iPod touch.  Best thing to do is activate airplane mode, then go to settings, wifi and re - activate just wifi (this way the cellular radio stays turned off the power, since you do not in any case).

  • Update video card for 500-027 c

Im looking to upgrade my video card for HP 500-027c desktop computer and I was wondering if it can accommodate an EVGA GTX760 SC? I heard some people having problems with the GTX760 series of BIOS and doubts as to my turn may even support a double tie. Any suggestions?

    Kevin, welcome to the forum.

I think that users who have problems have not a UEFI BIOS into the motherboard.  Your computer has a complete UEFI BIOS.  The problem you will have is the length of the card (10.5 ") and the need for power (600 w) with a minimum of 42 amps on 12V + rail.  You can make a model of the size of the card to see if it will fit.  You need a lot of space for good air circulation.  The power supply can be improved.  You must at least 700W.

Note: After further research, I found that there are several different sizes of this video card with the requirements of different powers and lengths.

It's the Radio controller driver. When I remebered it. I'm immediately went to device--> Human Management Interface Devices--> find the Radio controller--> click right--> Goto Power Management--> Unchecked properties allow this device save energy... That's all. Your wifi will not more cut in itself... The only problem remains that the wifi light doesn't always show does not a good range of the wifi but signal its ok I just have to wait for an another updates from microsoft to solve officially.

  • Using the headphone jack to the Audio input

Try to use my 4 GB Fuze to connect to the external audio device.  Using the standard FUZE audio output (headphone) to connect to the audio inputs, Radio BOSE or compatible stereo or home.  When connected to the input on my Bose Compatible radio, apparently not having enough power to perform this task.  "Click, click, etc."  Darn Ipod seems to be fine in this config.  Any thoughts there?  I'm sure that this is relevant for many.  Might does not seem to find a good thread about it.

    Thank you.

Yes, the sensitivity varies depending on the computer, set of accessories speakers speakers, FM modulator, car audio, and so on.  The variable volume of the headphone level can come handy.

The 30-pin is also variable output can be very useful, as configured in the "rocket".  The Griffin dock works fine, as long as you have 5v power supplied to the USB cable.  This output is too strong.

  • Mouse works erratically

I have a Microsoft wireless optical mouse and a home premium windows 7 64-bit OS and a dell inspiron desktop 580.   The mouse works perfectly on my laptop.  But does not work with all clicks on my desk.  I have to click 3 or 4 times to get something to remember.  I also had a Logitech mouse which also had the same behavior on the desktop.   I got the wireless in a hub adapter - then spent at one of the ports on the central computer, then to a second way mainframe - same behavior.  I got this pc 4 years and up to what a month ago never had a problem.

Any thoughts on how I might be able to solve this problem?  Thank you.

It is probably a problem with the configuration of the wireless mouse.  Get a wired mouse and see if the problem is replicated.  I bet that's not.

Wireless mice/keyboards are often problematic.  Battery and everything that goes with it.  Also a radio transmission of very low-power mouse at the hub, they rely on.  That the wireless transmission is easily disrupted by other sources of signals.  Try to reposition the mouse and/or the hub.  Replace the batteries.  Re-install the software.

It is highly unlikely that this is caused by your computer.
